- Super Smash Bros. Ultimate has given us over 70 final smashes as well as a brand new Final Smash meter to play with! I love the changes and I'm here to rank all of the Final Smashes based on versatility, power, accuracy, and how easy it is to land/confirm it! I JUST LOVE THIS GAME SO MUCH.

Personally, I’d love to see a revamp of this once all the dlc is out. There’s been patches and the meta has progressed, so there’s probably other people who are interested. For example, Shulk is arguably weaker when holding final smash due to how dominant monado has become in his gameplay, and it doesn’t give him any solutions to projectiles. There’s also probably hitboxes/frame data online to help. Besides, this comment section is hilarious!
Also the fact that final smashes have a timer now and can be stalled out now...for some reason. Still have no clue why they 'Added' that but it still completely changes some characters places.

Fun fact: during the ice climber’s final smash, a pterodactyl appears above the iceberg, and it can carry the ice climbers. So when you move the iceberg, the ice climbers don’t move at the age time. (Jump to the pterodactyl to have it carry you)

I agree with your points on lucario, but you forgot about aura. At 100% aura even the meter version can kill at 0. And even with a 70% aura using the smash ball version.

I really love the detail on Ridley’s final smash. The fact you can see Samus’ ship crashing the background is really great.
Villagers and Isabelle’s are actually the best because your opponent then gets put into years of debt after the final smash.

I know you’ve made jokes about it, but I’d genuinely love to see an updated version of this tier list, now that buffs, nerfs, DLC, and new discoveries have changed the playing field two years later. Not even that this one is “wrong” or “bad” or “forgetting that you can angle it,” but because I hugely enjoy seeing new developments and how people’s views and thoughts change over time.
I’ll toss out a few discoveries I’ve found myself, personally; not even necessarily for you to use, just because I kind of want to. I know you already pointed out Wolf having down throw - final smash, but some of the others I’ve seen that don’t seem commonly known are:
*-Lucario* has a hitbox when he flies to the top center of the stage, and hitting someone with it puts them in enough stun to almost guarantee you’ll have enough time to hit them with the beam. This means that, if you know your positioning well, moves _can_ confirm into either the initial hit or the beam. Not the best, but has a bit more application than it first seems.
*-Olimar’s* starting hitbox spikes. For some reason. Use it right next to someone offstage, and they Just Die.
*-Falco* AND *Duck Hunt* each have both down throw and forward throw as confirms. They can be a bit unreliable if you’re fighting a featherweight who knows how to DI, but other than that, they’re true up through mid percents, Duck Hunt slightly more so than Falco.
*-Ice Climbers* can hop up to the condor and control the iceberg freely, but even if that’s not easy in the moment, you can still hold shield and shieldshift in the direction you want it to go.
*-Roy’s* is reactable when he’s facing you, but it _isn’t_ if you’re behind him, meaning it’s best used if you B-reverse it. It still sucks in midair, but again, worth keeping in mind.
*-Game and Watch’s* has some bizarre properties that I still don’t fully understand even after trying to lab it out in training mode for hours, including having an execute, apparently??? My best guess is that the further back the tentacle you get grabbed by is, the harder it is to mash out of, but I have no clue if that’s actually the case. If someone with more skill in labbing (*cough cough*) could look into it more, I really want to know what the hell is up with this final smash.
*-Shulk* has a ton of confirms into his, especially since you’re able to intentionally get hit to go into stun and use your arts. Switch to Buster art, practically everything combos into it and Buster runs out before the final hit, so you don’t have to worry about nerfing your kill power. Even without Buster, down tilt, down throw, nair, forward air, and occasionally down air can combo into it. Very good.
*-Link* has forward throw - final smash at low to mid percents, provided you’re standing on flat ground.
And, as for DLC stuff that you haven’t shown you know about:
*-Joker* has throw combos into his, but more importantly: the release hitbox on down-B combos into it, even without jumping through, like, 70% for most midweights. Rebel’s Guard a rapid jab, release it, and if they get hit, final smash in their direction.
*-Hero* has aerial combos, but no throw combos above low percents. Obviously, there’s always Snooze and Acceleratle, too, and stacking Oomph and Psyche Up means the ball FS kills at 0 at the ledge.
*-Banjo* has down throw - final smash, which isn’t true, but still pretty solid, plus _technically_ dragdown nair? The inconsistent launch angles mean you need to react at a split second whether you need to b-reverse or not.
*-Terry* has His Entire Moveset, and I’m pretty sure you found most of the sauce on day 1.
*-Byleth* can hit you with up-b before 50% and buffer a b-reversed final smash. And 9 times out of 10, it Will Kill You.
*-Min-Min* doesn’t have anything remarkable that I can remember.
*-Steve* has plenty of confirms. You guys already saw down throw on day 1, but there’s also jab, down tilt, non-powered minecart, and even down air, for some reason.

It's deploy and let it edge guard. But they nerfed it from smash 4 cause there it lasted a good while and let for a length edge guard and good damage (the highest damage final smash in the game actually, by far, able to deal over 200%). Really they need to give it longer duration again

I want to mention that Ganon, The Demon King (Ganondorf's Final Smash) goes until it hits the blast zone on the side it's facing, so if we count it as a projectile, Ganondorf has the longest range projectile in the game.
Of course we're not counting it as a projectile because that's stupid, but still.

Yes, but consider that while a purely powerful Final Smashes will be nerfed in FS Meter, if there's true throw combos into it they will stay true. Thats why they are better across the board if you keep both in mind.

Fun fact: Meta Knights' final smash has a hitbox throughout the entire lightning strike, meaning it can hit you if you are extremely far above.

The difference between Ness and Lucas final smashes is that Ness’s meteors come from the center of the stage and are less controllable, while Lucas’s come from above him instead, and are controlled more accurately.
I feel like people always underestimate Lucas final smash. It can create a wall of meteors to send you to the blast zone. It’s at least as good as Ness’.

Chess is a game that goes back a long time ago. It was invented in the 6th century AD 1500 years ago so this is a very old game but it is very competitive. It's a simple game and you can be really good at it . Some of the best chess players are Magnus Carlson and Garry Kasparv and the one and only Bobby Fischer. In order to be good at Chess, you need to know how the pieces move, attack the King, and checkmate the king. First let's see how the pieces move! The pawn is worth 1 point it can take diagonal and if it reaches the end of the board it can change to a queen. The rook or the castle is worth 5 points. It can move forwards backwards and side to side in any direction. You also can do something cool with the king and rook called castling which is when the king moves two spaces and the rook switches sides with the king. The bishop is worth 3 points and it can go diagonal in any direction. The kight or the horse is also worth 3 points. It can move in a L direction any ways. The queen is worth 9 points. She is the most powerful she can do what the rook and the bisip can do.
Once you know how the pieces move you can start playing! The object of the game is to cheekmate your opponent to cheekmate you need to move your pieces in a way where the enemy king can't move anywhere. The best chess opening for white is e 5 and black should respond with e4 When you open with e 5 is called king's pawn opening and if you do e 6 it's called queen pawn opening try to move your pieces in a way to checkmate the other king To win chess you want to keep attacking the king and soon you will see checkmate the game is hard sometimes games can be 30 minutes long the game of chess is a very quit game so when your making your move the other person is quit to help you contrate you have to be quiet in chess just like in a library.

the first alpharad video i ever watched. have been watching nearly every one since.
For the characters with activation boxes (particularly reactable ones like the spacies), you should've considered the character's ability to combo into the final smash. for example, Falco probably has Up tilt -> final smash, Wolf has D throw -> final smash, Duck Hunt probably has clay pidgeon -> final smash, Toon Link has Bair -> final smash (as shown by turv in the smashdown vid), and I'm sure that the rest have something they can combo into theirs. I know that you did this for some characters like Meta Knight, but you didn't do most characters justice. Additionally, you could've considered the angle that the final smashes launch opponents at (i.e. Falco's sends more upwards than Fox, so position makes them kill differently). Also I think you may have figured it out by now but Lucario's aura affects the power of his final smash so it probably deserves to be a bit higher, especially since you essentially control center stage until you let it rip since going to center stage means basically death for the opponent. Just an analysis, I don't even play Lucario or usually even with final smashes on, I just wanted to voice my opinion on the topic since I assume that there's another final smash tier list coming out once all the DLC characters are out since some stuff got buffed and nerfed.

Peach/Daisy final smash is so busted its scary. Full restore of a stock with the healing items, and basically free kill. Fair and balanced.

Geno I think Sonic's final Smash should be where he tosses the Phantom Ruby from Mania, it would function like Mega Man's final Smash but maybe a bit bigger. It'll send the opponent to the place where you fight Egg Reverie. Sonic along with Tails and Knuckles turn into their Super forms and just start an all out attack basically. And maybe Sonic could also turn Hyper and does that air thing that kills all robots on screen from 3 & Knuckles as a finisher

Another thing to consider about Wii Fit's final smash is the hitbox of the final hit. If people avoid it, they're likely to start charging fsmash behind you, but the final hit will hit behind you, putting them in the perfect position to follow up with nair or up air. I don't think that's enough to make it good, but it might be enough to push it to maybe low C tier.
I'd actually really love to see a revision of this list now that all the DLC is over, some characters have gotten buffs/nerfs & we've had a few years to figure out different metas for different characters!
Honestly, while playing World of Light (in hard difficulty) Lucas's Final Smash was incredibly helpful. If you aim it correctly you can KO multiple opponents even at low damage.
It's good at against CPUs, but not against competent human beings. It's so easy to dodge if you know what to do and your recovery is any better than Little Mac.
Peach's is kind of broken in stamina battles. Instant heal by 60%, and in WoL, you can do it twice! Throw in fast final smash and you're practically invincible!
@@grodon909 yeah peach with double fast final smash meter got me through a large portion of world of light, worked great in non stamina battles too. oh also there's a skill tree node that makes food stronger... pretty sure this effected her final smash too and the peaches would move towards you.
once I got celeby though it was jiggs all the way.
For world of light, Olimar just gets a bunch of extra damage on his aerials from spirits for no reason, which paired with a good neutral 4 star primary can shred the entire game including bosses
Finally, optimized competitive 1v1 final smash dodges, this is the tier list that the *real* pros need

After Alpha's view of Peach's Final Smash, my view completely changed. You have so much control of the stage, and if you punt your opponent off the stage and use your Final Smash, you're automatically dead.
For King K Rool, his Final Smash also has a confirm into forward throw at low percentage and works with sour spot nair and sometimes downair.

And then there's Lucas's final smash since the comets go from where he is on the map and it's possible to angle it makes it better than Ness's because if you go off-stage you can cover just about the whole stage with it unlike Ness's final smash where it always goes from center stage.
For everyone saying Wii Fit Trainer's and Mii Swordfighter's Final Smashes are like Mario's: Mario's is a single hitbox that moves forward and expands vertically, while Wii Fit Trainer's and Mii Swordfighter's are MULTIPLE hitboxes: every pose/slash is its own hitbox.

For anyone curious: in Spirit Mode, the viability of many Final Smashes are heavily changed because they deal significantly less damage in spirits (the spirit's stats give them a 1x damage multiplier instead of the 4x for regular moves and 6x for defense)
However, Peach's Final Smash is still very very strong since most of what makes it good is the free Smash attack and healing, both of which are not nerfed in spirits, making Peach a great combination with Critical Fast FS meter, which basically guarantees her 2-3 final smashes every stock as soon as she reaches 80%. There's almost zero counterplay to this playstyle. Unless they equip sleep immunity, which just means you're screwed lol
unironically, this really helped me understand how to use peach and daisy final smash. I'm kinda stupid when it comes to ultimate so it was helpful to realise how good it was because before I'd look at it and not even realise it would put people to sleep (I thought it was just the border and big heal lmao)

Lucario final smash does more damage if hes damaged. I'm pretty sure if you're at 60%+ your final smash kills at 0%. Also you can direct where his beam starts, definitely not F tier imo
It can also be a free recovery from anywhere on the map
But no one will actually be hit by it, so it really does 0% damage and won't even kill at 999%.
Came here to find this. I've wrecked people's marriages with this smash, it's so dope. The trick is knowing when to pop it, being his damage scales with the damage he's taken.
Lucario is one of my 4 mains, his smash is super good in my experience. If you opponent is already near center stage when you use it its near guaranteed to hit because you can aim the beam before it fires. If you have it and are playing on the ledge you can be as risky as you want to try and get a confirmed kill, just use the smash right before you die from going too far too the edge and instantly recover. Plus it's damage potential increases by a lot as Lucario is also damaged which makes it more viable to be used in an actual fighting setting. Was disappointed to see him in F tier, it felt like they didn't really consider how it would be used in an actual game.

Lucario’s final smash is saved by this one thing: you can prematurely turn the beam before the startup animation ends.

Some additional notes about King K. Rool, the behavior near ledge allows to pass the edge, the stomp has a hitbox not just from a combo, so can hit enemies underneath woth lift. Also, kill range at 0% on battlefield for most characters at ledge.

Peach’s final smash is great. Especially on the maps that move. Also it give a chance to either heal or get critical hits on your opponents.
