I was JUST watching the old video reaction and waiting for this video reaction xd
more like Round 3 with that first trailer for the first movie, which i feel bad we have to acknowledge every time with these movies, but we have come so far it's more of a milestone that Hollywood listened to fans to make a movie better. the story is still "good" but it was all about Sonic and thank goodness it happened! sure~ people would have still gone and seen it for how bad it was, but it would have gotten the same staple as other Video Game movies: bad.
now with Sonic 2, we can say we made it!

Honestly this looks even better than the first movie. Tails and Knuckles sound great, Eggman sporting a more reminiscent design of his in-game appearance, the appearance of the Master Emerald, overall it seems to be more targeted towards longtime fans of the series than the casual crowd. And I'm all for it.
i thought the master emerald would be bigger but then again, if it was 'too' big that might be a bit of an issue, but I really wanted to see a knux carry a GIANT emerald the size of a hot tub.
The first movie set the stage for the sequel to be better from the get go since it was an origin story
@@drakke125Channel What's funny is the master emerald actually has even been smaller than that in the games. It's been showing that it's able to change its size either from Knuckles or on its own. It's even been the same size as the chaos emeralds before. Maybe it might get bigger in the movie

The flashback at the start was a great touch. It's amazing to see how far these movies have come. From so much backlash to praise and anticipation for the sequel.

I love how that's the actual current VA they got for Tails. Like movie Tails is being voiced by the current VA for game Tails. Colleen O'Shaughnessey; who also voices Charmy Bee, I found that out when looking it up to fact-check myself. That's how you know there's a lot of love and effort put into these movies now. Also, something I found out recently about the Sonic movie in light of the announcement of the cast of another video game movie. In early productions, of like rough drafts of like posters and stuff, probably like way before casting was finalized, it wasn't even James Marsden. Apparently they initially wanted Chris Pratt for the main human guy; it wasn't an uncanny resemblance, it was literally Chris Pratt. Don't get me wrong, you can like characters played by Chris Pratt, but Chris Pratt himself is pretty yikes, to put it mildly.
What's wrong with Chris Pratt?

When I watched this I was so hyped with Knuckles being a straight badass
In the comics and in the video game, Robotnik tells Knuckles that Sonic stole the Master Emerald, so Knuckles, as the guardian, wants to take it back.
This is gonna be soooo much better than the first!
Echidna's are kinda similar looking to hedgehogs, they have quills. Fun fact, they're one of only two mammals that lay eggs.

@@phootaphan9166 Pretty much anyone who knows the Internet well will probably laugh a lot, the "you know da wae" meme was insufferable but it was definitely VERY popular lol.
That would be just as amazing and hilarious as Sanic showing up in the first movie as a poorly drawn likeness picture from the one guy who had seen him prior to the movie, and it wouldn't be a fall flat joke, because like Sanic it fits in the context of the story naturally. If you don't get the joke it still functions as a dramatic line without being an awkward 'pause for laughter' moment. He could say the line, people who get it would laugh, people who don't wouldn't be taken out of the moment by it.
I feel like Shadow would be really good sequel bait for a third movie. Especially in an end credits or something.
Shadow can't be in the third movie if they're following the games, they can't skip Sonic Adventure 1 and just jump to Sonic Adventure 2.
They can potentially do both SA and SA2 since they have GUN somewhat in this one
How does Metal Sonic sound though?
If they are keeping the Sega Genesis games story, after knuckles joins the gang, Metal Sonic is the one they should be fighting next.
Next, Amy and Metal Sonic. Considering CD is somewhat the Sonic 3
I really hope they don't make Knuckles the "dumb brute" type portrayal that the current games do, and make him much more competent. Yes, he can be tricked by Eggman, but don't make him a COMPLETE idiot.
Plus it makes sense that Robotnik could trick him. Knuckles' whole existence basically revolves around protecting the master emerald.

Based on how he looks and his one line in this trailer he is probably gonna be more like Knuckles from the first appearances. Competent but with a one track mind.

This seems a lot darker than the first movie, and I can’t wait to see Jim Carry’s performance again, especially since he looks exactly the same as The Egg Man from the cartoons and games.

Minus being fat, it’d be funny if just like the 1st movie it ends with Eggman looking more like his canon version. Through whatever circumstance he lands in he ends up bulking up into the fat and bald Eggman we know.
It went from "God, kill it with fire" to "a decent family movie" and now it actually looks so fun and exciting!
While I've played the sonic games, I'm not a super fan. But your guy's excitement is what really makes these videos enjoyable. love it and keep it up!
Yoooo. The voice for knuckles gave me chills. He always seems so laid back in certain games. This, this was good. Paired in with the action, I think it's definitely safe to say we're gonna get some major world building if this series gets a third movie. Big if though.

Hearing Colleen Villard (Digimon, Naruto) reprise the role of Tails from the video games is an awesome decision! You don't need a big name celeb to voice him if the original voice already sounds great as it is!

It's how it was originally before Sonic and Knuckles became amends, this movie is basically a mashup of Sonic 2 and 3 and I'm here for it!
Even in the anime Sonic X knuckles was an enemy because he was tricked by Eggman just like in the games.

He won’t be a villain for the entire movie. More than likely he’ll realize Eggman duped him and he’ll team up with Sonic and Tails to take him down. After that he’ll probably be in good terms with Sonic & Tails and will take the Master Emerald back to Angel Island to guard it. That’s assuming the follow the traditional route of this plot line.
You guys need to realize that if they do go the Sega Genesis route eventually we'll get Metal Sonic which in my opinion is way cooler than shadow if you take a look at some of the comics especially some of the recent ones you understand why I like metal Sonic better

Shadow has had some really really good scenes in the Archie comics tho and even in games (specifically SA2, 06, and somewhat heroes). Unfortunately the IDW comics shadow was subject to dumb sega rules
Shadow has a very complicated backstory that might not transition well into a 2 hour movie… he was created by the blood of an alien race and the power of the chaos emeralds to replicate old murals depicting Super Sonic all so he could cure the sonic universe equivalent of aids… you could drop a lot of the details but Maria, The Ark, Gerald, and the GUN soldiers who killed them need to be in the movie for shadows identify to work out

Gotta say, the team behind this series got my respect back when they listened to fans and pushed back the release of the first movie to redesign Sonic and the first film ended up being a hit. I didn't think I would like it as much as I did and I'm happy it did well enough at the box office to get a sequel. My respect for them has only grown with this trailer; they've refined Sonic's design and the effects involving him and nailed it with Tails and Knuckles, not to mention they kept Colleen on as Tails instead of going with a more famous actor.
Never thought I'd actually be excited for a Sonic movie franchise but damn, this looks good.
just dont forget Jim Carey was salty and criticized the team for 'caving into the demands' of the fans cuz he thought people would watch the movie for him only because as long as sonic looked bad, he'd look good. He's a real annoying narcissist.

well, tecnically, they could make metal sonic (sonic Cd) for a third movie.
seeing how they tweak a little details, maybe they could change him to evolve from silver, mecha and finally the metal sonic we understand as it. and also they could mix some adventures vibes, since this movie is sonic 2 and 3 mixed.

Theory for after credit scene, eggman after getting team rocketed into space finds the ark and shadow or it shows him in his lab making shadow or maby metal sonic and Villain rubbing his hands together like” I’ll get you next time”. Or maby something happens with the master emerald and chaos gets released(the ending of that game in movie form would be badass) so many ways they could take this
Okay to answer a couple questions. The term echidna originally came from the Greek mother of all monsters. Her husband was Typhon and two of her baby children were the Hydra and the nemian lion. Echidnas are also one of two egg-laying mammals and they have poisonous spurs on their feet. One of the other terms for an echidna is a spiny anteater. As for game wise, if they are going in order of enemies, the next enemy would be Metal Sonic

Sonic 3's story was about Robotnik collecting the chaos emeralds and the master emerald for whatever his plan was.
Eggman finessed Knuckles back then for sure so this probably a variation of that time line.
Also Lupa... SPIT ON THE QUEEN, THAT IS DE WAE.
Imagine it took 6-7 months for the redesign of Sonic to take full effect in 2019 thanks to many of us loyal fans. It was damn worth it!
Now onto 2021, the redesign is still worth it! With the Chaos Emeralds now playing a role in the sequel, only a matter of time when we get…
