I love how this movie series started with one of the most abominable, hated trailers the world has ever seen, and then after redoing it from the ground up and getting a resounding success, this sequel is slowing turning into a hype train. This is what happens when you listen to your fans.
Honestly, I had no idea that Idris Elba would be voicing Knuckles. Still, seeing him along with Tails in this trailer has already got me hyped for this sequel.
Apparently the voice for tails is being done by the lady who did the original voice too. Shes the only one that came back but i think the current VAs they have are great. Especially knuckles
Can we just appreciate how slowly they're building this universe up? We still have Shadow, Metallix, and Super Sonic to come. They haven't crammed it all into one or two films like some franchises do.

Everything about the trailer was pure nostalgia. Tails & Knuckles first appearance, the return of Eggman, the Master Emerald, the Tornado & the rivalry of Sonic & Knuckles due to Eggmans trickery. It's like living in the Sega days all over again.
Watching all these clips, there's strangely a very recognizable pattern in almost everyone's reactions to Knuckles. 1. Seeing a few frames of him from the wide angle, and recognizing him purely from his color. Reactors are happy to learn he's in the movie. 2. A close up of his design, which they 100% nailed. Nailing a design like this is a big deal considering the fiasco with the original, horrible 'realistic' design choice for sonic. Everyone appreciates this design, and are shocked at how good he looks. 3. Hearing his voice for the first time, establishing him as a badass on par with Sonic in terms of power level, possibly higher. Some reactors immediately recognize Idris Elba. The fact that the hype is strong through all three of these revelations and levels of shock so consistently across the audience shows how good of a job they did.
Why do I imagine that Eggman wants Sonic and Knuckles power as they are conduits/enhanced power comes from Chaos Emeralds, hence their electricity (plus the Green lightning shown in the trailer)? That was the Master Emerald not Chaos Emerald. Knuckles is guardian of the master emerald, Robotnik tricked Knuckles into thinking that Sonic had stolen it, hence why he was initially on Robotniks side at first.

The green chaos emerald is also the most frequently seen so it's the first one associated with the emeralds. It Honestly looks about the size of the super emerald when compared to egg head. It's certainly bigger then his palm witch is the size of chaos emeralds, but at the same time it's not as big as it needs to be. Egg head often has to use a robot to swipe it and knuckles struggles to carry it some times due to the awkwardness of carrying it at that size. When you look at it in the movie trailer it just isn't that big. It should be the size at least of egg heads whole torso not just his belly.

Of course Knuckles will, he’s apart of “Team Sonic” and at the end of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, he fought Sonic and Tails until he realized Eggman tricked him; eventually helping the pair get the master emerald back.
Honestly as much as I love Metal Sonic, I would rather they save him for the next movie so he can be one of the main villains throughout the whole movie like Sonic OVA, but if he does appear in the movie I hope is an after credit scene where it shows us Eggman building Metal Sonic and his eye turn on with their menacing glow and it fades to black
Knuckles is the equivalent of piccolo from DBZ but in Sonic universe evil at first but we all know that they'll become besties by the end of the movie. Happy that they are really building on the Sonic lore and taking it back to its roots and reintroducing the real storyline.

This movie is basically just the sequel games Sonic 2 & 3 , but oh man Jim Carrey reprising as Robotnik, Colleen O'Shaughnessey the iconic voice for Tails, Idris Elba the perfect voice for Knuckles, and Ben Schwarts who did an amazing job in the first movie and that's coming from a devoted Jason Griffith and Jaleel White fan. I can't wait to see how their gonna tell this story on big screen

Yeah thats what i was thinking too. Theres no way they spoil Knuckles in the trailer if they dont have anything else to show.
Of course Knuckles will, he’s apart of “Team Sonic” and at the end of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, he fought Sonic and Tails until he realized Eggman tricked him; eventually helping the pair get the master emerald back.
Honestly as much as I love Metal Sonic, I would rather they save him for the next movie so he can be one of the main villains throughout the whole movie like Sonic OVA, but if he does appear in the movie I hope is an after credit scene where it shows us Eggman building Metal Sonic and his eye turn on with their menacing glow and it fades to black

Knuckles is the equivalent of piccolo from DBZ but in Sonic universe evil at first but we all know that they'll become besties by the end of the movie. Happy that they are really building on the Sonic lore and taking it back to its roots and reintroducing the real storyline.
Piccolo is evil in dragon ball too. His first title in the series name is Evil King Piccolo. They use the evil containment wave to trap him.

This movie is basically just the sequel games Sonic 2 & 3 , but oh man Jim Carrey reprising as Robotnik, Colleen O'Shaughnessey the iconic voice for Tails, Idris Elba the perfect voice for Knuckles, and Ben Schwarts who did an amazing job in the first movie and that's coming from a devoted Jason Griffith and Jaleel White fan. I can't wait to see how their gonna tell this story on big screen
