Listen, as someone born in Georgia it was surreal as fuck to know exactly where some of the places in Reesa Teesa's story is. I have a whole mental map and everything of where she went and when. And for the record, a popular saying amongst my Georgia family is that Atlanta is an hour outside of Atlanta. The traffic is that terrible. On a bad day she could've recorded the whole series in one sitting. Regardless, my heart goes out to her. I hope she gets some good money from all this because the whole story is a fucking trip, man. She's a fantastic storyteller, maybe she'll get a good deal out of this in hollywood somewhere.
This is going to sound sarcastic, but I'm not being sarcastic: There was a point where I thought to myself, not in so many words but just generally, "Boy, it's too bad they're probably going to stop talking about Madame Web soon," and then I checked the chapters and saw that they would be talking about Web for another hour, and I was glad.
I wonder if there's a word for when past victims of manipulation sort of gaslight themselves, saying stuff like "you're just paranoid because of last time, you always assume the worst"? I think there should be. Because I really resonated with her when she mentioned that. You might expect someone to recognize the red flags if they've been in that kind of situation before, but I feel like a lot of us actually invalidate our own feelings and out of feeling like "I'm just afraid to trust again, I'm being irrational"
I had a friend do that. She was telling me all about how she knows this dude is just “triggering” her because of past trauma and she’s really “trying to work on it” etc etc., and I was like, “nah bra, that’s not being triggered that spotting red flags. Run. Run fast”
I would say it's also just a regular way of rationalizing thoughts. As an anxious person, I am always thinking the worst. When I started going to therapy, my therapist would tell me that I needed to pay attention to facts and see if they align with my thoughts and feelings. So in the end, this woman was holding onto the facts she believed at the time. I think it's because her situation is very abnormal.
"You're comparing me to your ex's" is a classic gaslighter line. If you ever hear that, question why. Why are you comparing them to your ex? I'm willing to bet it's because they're showing a red flag that ex taught you about. (insert Thank U, Next here) I've ran into a lot of manipulative men lately banking on the fact that you may have had a toxic relationship in the past so they can gaslight you into thinking you're overreacting. Some kind of 4D chess they think they're playing. And as soon as you tell em to shove it they go r/niceguy, colorful words included.
I’ve done exactly that!!! I fell into a pattern of abusive relationships and every time I left one I was like “okay now I know what red flags to spot next time” and then if the red flags were different or less bad I would ignore my radar. I feel like I’ve gotten past it with lots of therapy but dear god it’s so rough.
having dated a pathological liar before, he eventually told me he could not help himself. even when I held evidence contrary to his statements up to his face, he'd still attempt to lie. and that went any way, I was sitting in front of his pc, reading chats of him saying horrible stuff about me to his friends and he'd still somehow claim that it never happened or that the situation had not happened that way. Its truly fascinating and if you're unlucky, you start to doubt yourself. so for her, for it to go this far, I can only imagine how she was gaslit by him and would eventually question her own perception of the truth.
There's another comment here that outlines How deep the gas lighting went. He was apparently telling his family that she didn't miscarry the baby and that they had it, and he would have fake conversations with his family members in front of her and involve her in them... Personally, I've experienced stuff like this that goes far beyond gas lighting, into mind control... that's what it sounds like to me.
One of the most insane parts of the forest scene of madam web is that Dakotas character gets to the diner faster walking through the woods than driving. she literally spends multiple minutes in the diner before he gets there but still chooses to take the longer route of the car. She could have saved the girls faster without destroying a entire diner.
As someone who has been in an abusive relationship... there is a point at which you realise they are bad/lying/abusive but you basically gaslight yourself on it. And adding the pregnancy into it, i know i was so anxious and vulnerable during pregnancy (with a non abusive partner thankfully), i cannot imagine how scary it wouldve been.
Everything in Madam Web is because Sony is not allowed to use anything directly Spider-Man. What they want to adapt modern classic Spider-Man stories but without him in it or mentioned. Worst part is that Ezekiel Sims is like the most convoluted lore shake up in comic history that is barely acknowledged anymore. If you are a JoJo fan remember how Stands weren’t introduced until like the 3rd season and it’s like a completely different power scale to understand. Basically Spider-Man isn’t a product of science gone wrong he’s mystically destined to be the spider totem and he’s not the first either. Ezekiel is the one before him. Also there are inter dimensional vampires that eat them. The only thing that survived from this story is that because the vampires are interdimension they become a catalyst for spider verse.

I wish Jacob told them in his summary of the first couple videos that the ex husband was always on the phone with his brother every morning but that she said it wasn’t ever really happening and there were no phone calls. And he would literally involve her in the conversation and tell her what he said back and it wasn’t real. That’s such a significant and tedious lie he told, it’s not egregious like the house lies but it’s astounding because it’s such a meticulous lie to keep up
As someone who left a relationship with lots of promises followed by countless disappointments, relationships like these will never turn around, the floor either falls through on both of you, or the person getting disappointed has to step up and fix the situation that the “promiser” has been giving excuses about for months
Riverdale is the city she lived in but they were looking at houses in the Marietta area. Both of these locations are right outside of Atlanta no more than 20 mins. Also he forgot to mention this guy was PAYING ALL OF HER BILLS
small note about CPR: idk about the US, but the way you do it has changed over time, and at least where i live (germany) the way it's being taught now is that you only do compressions, no mouth-to-mouth or mouth-to-nose, keeping rhythm is important, and you need to be very rough, to the point that breaking a rib can happen and is quite common, cause otherwise you're not putting enough pressure on the heart. the reason for this is that the cardiac massage is by far the most important step, and it's not worth to stop it for rescue breathing, which often doesn't do much, bears several risks etc., it's quite likely people start breathing again from compressions alone & compressions push the oxygen thats still in the heart and lungs into the system, so ventilation is now only given via mask if you have one, by a second party
@@jubs96yeah it was mostly updated bc rescue breaths r rlly hard to do properly, u can just end up blowing air into their stomach instead of their lungs so its not worth it to stop compressions to do smth that probably wont work that well
They’re teaching the same thing in the US and have for quite a while, don’t worry. It’s really only people who have only seen it in movies and have no real life training who have that misconception
BUT you do have one big misconception. CPR rarely works. It’s only about a 5-10 success rate for resuscitation if the person’s heart and breathing have stopped. Even in a hospital (with all modern technology, defibrillators, intubation, etc.) the success rate is only 20 percent or so.
I somehow missed the part where they mentioned Madame Web, and for like ten minutes I was UTTERLY perplexed. Like what the fuck is this Neil Breen ass movie istg 💀
Well now one of you guys have to do a live or something where you listen and react to someone’s condensed version of this. I know the whole story now but am dying to see your reactions

okay, I don't mean to get super genuine about a tiny thing and make it a big thing, but this has been the most stressful week I've had in a long time. my mind hasn't stopped bubbling over about conversations and the dynamic between me and my dad. and, when my mind bubbles over like that, the energy has to go somewhere? so I often find myself just grabbing my mic and recording myself talking things out, because verbal processing is good for me. so, to just simply hear you guys talk positively about that as a medium, and a method for someone to get their thoughts together, that just means so much to me right now. thank you.

no truly like jordan was a bit of a skeptic about how captivating her story is bc it’s obvious to us that he’s a liar (literally a dead give away just by the title). the reason it spans 50 parts is because of the sheer depth of his lies !! my jaw dropped like 8x throughout the whole thing
listen i know madam web was created a long time ago, but you KNOW if she wasn't, the writers of this movie would've felt so cool that they named a character who can see the future cassandra
48:49 Correction: the current guidelines for CPR actually ARE that you do chest compressions only (with a 2 beat rest after 30 to check if it worked) and that you keep doing that at a steady rhythm until help arrives. If your arms get tired, you get someone else to take over at the exact same pace. So… Madame Web actually got that scene right. I’m not sure where the idea the showing CPR correctly is illegal from, though.
They shot the final boss scene and the first ambulance scenes in Madame Web at my office building, which I learned about WHILE watching the movie, and it made the entire experience even more bizarrely hilarious

Compressions-only CPR is a valid technique for amateurs. It's hard for casual CPR people to do the breathing correctly, and it's been shown that chest compressions can move air through the lungs.

@@towerofgodfan4107Ah, I'll have to look into that, thanks for the recommendation!
I can't believe Madam Web saw 9/11 coming and didn't even do anything about it #problematic
our favorite problematic superhero
1:42:25 Absolutely this!!! I wish more people understood just how many predators were ACTIVELY taking advantage of the COVID situation!
Y'all I know this didn't start pre COVID but that's not the point 😅 he clearly utilized it to his advantage
1:51:16 Jarvis laying down gives the vibe we’re all cozy watching a movie together
Perhaps we are watching… Madame Web 😋
having dated a pathological liar before, he eventually told me he could not help himself. even when I held evidence contrary to his statements up to his face, he'd still attempt to lie. and that went any way, I was sitting in front of his pc, reading chats of him saying horrible stuff about me to his friends and he'd still somehow claim that it never happened or that the situation had not happened that way.
We got Sad Boyz and Contrapoints today baby... all you people who put TH-cam on in the background, we are about to eat GOOD!!!
I do wish there would be a part 2 of sad Boyz reviewing ReesaTeesa, after you watched the full 50 Videos of her story. She has really talent of telling a story and it gets so interesting and intriguing. You missed out! I would watch you watching and commenting 6h ReesaTeesa ❤❤❤
The Madame Webb discussion is the MOST ADHD movie recap I’ve ever heard and I’m here for it.
1:44:00 I was actually taken advantage of this way throughout COVID. I am disabled and was very isolated, it ended very poorly for me. Only now recovering.
i love dakota johnson but i love the mental image of the madame web movie being exactly the same just with an 80 year old woman instead
I wish Jacob told them in his summary of the first couple videos that the ex husband was always on the phone with his brother every morning but that she said it wasn’t ever really happening and there were no phone calls. And he would literally involve her in the conversation and tell her what he said back and it wasn’t real. That’s such a significant and tedious lie he told, it’s not egregious like the house lies but it’s astounding because it’s such a meticulous lie to keep up
13:10 I love the cut to where Jordan SHOULD be when he talks off-screen
i love how you both slowly get cozier and cozier on the couch as the episode goes on
new sad boyz !!! i’m jordan this time i’ve decided
Dibbs jarvis
Dibbs on the couch 🤤
I am the keyboard
dibs on the lamp
I’m the watered down half cup of coffee 🫶
Never heard of the movie, not going to watch it, loved every second of that chaotic discussion. Two thumbs up.
I love jarvis laying down on the couch, really adds to the friends just chilling vibe for some reason
yall are making madame webb sound like its an "its so raven" movie and i kinda fuck with that
I worked at a bank during COVID and virtually signing papers was a common thing at the time.
"I know we just talked a lot about Madame Web" A lot is an understatement Jarvis
Y’all should watch Kennie JD’s version of Who TF Did I marry. She does it just like her movie reviews. It is just as glorious as your take on it.
I watched it right before watching this, she did an amazing job explaining it.
Also he forgot to mention this guy was PAYING ALL OF HER BILLS
small note about CPR: idk about the US, but the way you do it has changed over time, and at least where i live (germany) the way it's being taught now is that you only do compressions, no mouth-to-mouth or mouth-to-nose, keeping rhythm is important, and you need to be very rough, to the point that breaking a rib can happen and is quite common, cause otherwise you're not putting enough pressure on the heart. the reason for this is that the cardiac massage is by far the most important step, and it's not worth to stop it for rescue breathing, which often doesn't do much, bears several risks etc., it's quite likely people start breathing again from compressions alone & compressions push the oxygen thats still in the heart and lungs into the system, so ventilation is now only given via mask if you have one, by a second party
thank you for this comment i had no idea. i took a first aid class over a decade ago (in France) and i didn’t know it was outdated. that makes sense!!
I love hearing Jordan say SPUMM knowing 98% of the viewers probably don’t know wtf that means
why the m??
@@Me-vn3gz Sony Pictures Universe of Marvel Movies lol
I somehow missed the part where they mentioned Madame Web, and for like ten minutes I was UTTERLY perplexed. Like what the fuck is this Neil Breen ass movie istg 💀
Sony wishes they could make a Neil Breen film
Well now one of you guys have to do a live or something where you listen and react to someone’s condensed version of this. I know the whole story now but am dying to see your reactions
Fr they left so much out and I need to see their reactions to the rest of it
do you have a video recommendation?
@@Me-vn3gz Stephanie Soo breaks it down in two hour long episodes. That the shortest I’ve found. Everyone else is either milking it for money or leaving deatails out
Stephanie Soo and Kennie JD both did very thorough breakdowns and both so entertaining.
It's always a good sign when the star of a movie fires their agent right after the movie is released.
I do just wanna say! As someone who works at a title and closing company, remote closings and even remote notary are real and legit. They're probably being abused by some bad actors, but in general, that's not a red flag.
I would have preferred this split into two. It feels like you could have done a full 2 hr for who TF did I marry.
I prefer when they talk about whatever they’re excited about. I’m sure you can find other people who break down the stories you personally want to see
As someone who dated and lived with a pathological liar, the who tf did I marry story feels so validating. It didn't just happen to me. Other people have dealt with this
okay, I don't mean to get super genuine about a tiny thing and make it a big thing, but this has been the most stressful week I've had in a long time. my mind hasn't stopped bubbling over about conversations and the dynamic between me and my dad. and, when my mind bubbles over like that, the energy has to go somewhere? so I often find myself just grabbing my mic and recording myself talking things out, because verbal processing is good for me.
so, to just simply hear you guys talk positively about that as a medium, and a method for someone to get their thoughts together, that just means so much to me right now. thank you.
Journaling works no matter what the format: more news at 8
Every Saturday morning I clean my bathroom and vacuum and mop my apartment. This podcast is the only thing that gets me through
im so glad you guys are FD Signifier fans
hell yeah
crazy to see a sad boyz episode with TWO CHAPTERS
"he works at a condiment factory"
...like those characters from the Grammarly commercials?
When Jordan found out what 'kranch' means, I saw a look cross his face where he seemed to seriously reconsider if he wanted to continue living in the United States.
“i was in the mood to see pretty pictures and not be challenged” my partner, myself and my brother were also in this mood and im glad we decided to go see kung fu panda 4 instead of madam web lmao
Love that anastasia was basically an unofficial guest. Hearing all 3 of them talk ab madame web was amazing
so excited to see that guy and that other dude do the sad podcast again!
excited to see this again, got through the first 5hr video and slightly into the second video on wednesday at Blizz's stream and no matter how wild you think it is it genuinely just keeps getting worse
no blame on the poor woman she went through so much and i absolutely do not blame her for how she was treated i just mean like it just keeps getting wilder
no truly like jordan was a bit of a skeptic about how captivating her story is bc it’s obvious to us that he’s a liar (literally a dead give away just by the title). the reason it spans 50 parts is because of the sheer depth of his lies !! my jaw dropped like 8x throughout the whole thing
nothing ever sold me a movie as well as the first hour of this episode
listen i know madam web was created a long time ago, but you KNOW if she wasn't, the writers of this movie would've felt so cool that they named a character who can see the future cassandra
Jarvis, the cruel tyrant he is, finally got me to start pokemon go. Can't wait for him to mention it suddenly in this pod
Jordan's new glasses are so freaking cute!
They shot the final boss scene and the first ambulance scenes in Madame Web at my office building, which I learned about WHILE watching the movie, and it made the entire experience even more bizarrely hilarious
lol I’m the only person I know that watched all 50 parts. It was just too chaotic to stop. 10 out of 10 story telling from ReesaTeesa
Edit: yall missed A LOT of setup fr but even so the story only gets better with each part
He did a good job with the recap but the details are sosososo necessary
I can’t believe they didn’t get finish the story why tease me like this
I just hate that ashies like Charlemagne, DJ Envy and them had the gall to take jabs at her with their scammy, rapey skeletons in their closets
Hearing that this story takes place in some unknown town and then realizing its actually only like 20 minutes from me is bonkers😭
Ooooooo I’m so excited!!! I’ve heard ppl talking about this and haven’t seen it yetttt
I think they were trying to go for a new version of "with great power comes great responsibility" like how they did for Spider-Man Noir (in his comics its "if those in power can't be trusted, its the responsibility of the people to remove them"
It’s so sad that Dakota Johnson seemingly thought she was getting to be in marvel
Wait, so you're telling me Spiderman married someone with his MOTHER'S name?..... Wild.....
I have an uncle who did that 😔 it’s really not weird honestly, it was just a coincidence hahah
They’ve been married for like 30 years and have two great kids and are super sweet people
My brother dated someone with my name at the time
@@hello_i_am_jacob ALMOST worse.
@@ApolloAzraelSpektra yeah I had to say my own deadname whenever I talked to her which was uncomfortable but at least he broke up with her
Unfortunately we still see her a lot because my mum decided to be friends with her
Ive watched a total of 3 videos about Madame Web and I still cant wrap my head around what the hell is going on in it
The is the greatest episode of sad boyz ever, just unstructured gushing about madame web for like a full hour and a half then reacting to who TF did I marry, I come back to the episode all the time cause it feels like a chill sleepover with friends
In case anyone is curious, according to the comics she has myasthenia gravis which is why she is blind, and she was also hooked up to a life support system (which I guess explains the wheelchair??) but the whole life support system in the comics resembles a spiderweb
The idea of someone saying "I learned CPR from Madam Web" is so funny to me
fun fact the "jungle" in peru *is* in fact the amazon rain forest, this rain forest is the biggest in the world cause it spans through more than five countries, brazil and peru having the most territory covered by it
My brother is a pathological liar and he used to tell me that he could run a mile in 8 seconds and I believed him lmao, I was like 12
Compressions-only CPR is a valid technique for amateurs. It's hard for casual CPR people to do the breathing correctly, and it's been shown that chest compressions can move air through the lungs.
ok holy shit the diner scene where the guy has the stupid newspaper is an EXACT copy of a true crime case that happened in my hometown. this girl got kidnapped and then she went to denny’s and someone recognized her from the news and called the cops. i wonder if it’s based on that lmao
So excited to be sad with these boyz
just realised the spoonerism of sad boyz is bad soyz. felt that that was important enough to share.
The person who said “I’m gonna summarize the first few episodes” did a terrible job at mentioning the important stuff not to mention straight up got wrong info. He started by saying he was a regional manager, he became VP later.
"I won't name any names I'll just say myself" lmfao idk why that got me so good
From Madame Webb, yeah Sony this Sony that. But I truly believe it was written during the writers strike with AI to show they could do it, and had already lost too much return on investment that they were like just keep pushing forward with the project.
It being written by AI is my new favorite theory
Just found this podcast a week or so ago and currently getting my life saved so thank u
I clicked the pod for who did I marry and listened to an hour and a half about madame Webb
There are clearly marked chapters thank god, you’ll never have to be forced to listen to people talking about a movie again
It slowed for about three months in Georgia. Georgians barely stayed indoors. I watched people walk to the store every day. hahah. Heck, some towns NEVER closed. Mayors were fighting with the Governor. The market exploded. The rates dropped and the investors came out. lol It was wild wild west. hahahah And I heard that Florida didn't even believe in the PHE.
I remember people celebrating we were one of the first days to lift lockdown and “saving the economy”. I didn’t have a job so I never really left the house much until the 1st vaccine but I know we never really shut down
The second half of this podcast does just feel like we’re watching a movie with Jarvis and Jordan and I’m loving the vibe
Jordan’s disappointed “aur… huh” reaction to kranch encapsulated the entire vibe of kranch
My moms a certified lifeguard and I asked her about the CPR scene and she said that in the last 10ish years they have said that if you can do anything just do compressions, however that was not the case in 2003 lol so that continuity is wrong. But the compressions are accurate!
