- While my wife was spending Christmas in Fairbanks I knew we still needed to get some meat in the freezer. Me and Capitan Funk took off in search of Sitka blacktail walking along the beach. We seen a few but could only get one in the boat. We also prepare for this artic front that is bringing some cold temps to not only Alaska but the rest of the lower 48.

i live just outside of fort hood TX and the temp got to 9 degree at its lowest and with me being in a trailer that was a little cold but i could have gone into the family house but i didn't want to its getting me ready in a way for alaska is how i see it im planning on buying property up there

Glad you got your deer. Looks delicious. Right now in Lat Yao Thailand it is 12:30 AM. 70 degrees Fahrenheit with a high of 84 degrees in the forecast for today. Our shortest day was two days ago at 11 hours. Our longest day will be nearly 13 hours on summer solstice June 22nd. This is now our Christmas Eve so merry Christmas to all.🎄

I told you wrong earlier about the amount of daylight we get here in South Central Kentucky ,it's about 10 hours of daylight . The sun comes up at around 7:20 and sets around 5:20ish . Have a good one Brian . ❤️🇺🇲🙏🇺🇲

I tried to send a photo of our indoor outdoor weather monitor. 9 deg , chill factor 0, wind 9.5 mph. Yes we have our Alaska sweatshirts on.
Took several neighbors Christmas gifts, checked on my chickens, and now under blanket. Time to crochet. Wishing we were in Alaska.

Yes, today in Corpus Christi TX the temperature is 22 with a wind chill of 6 😱🥶 We still have power so that's the silver lining 😂🤷🏼♀️

In Hutto, Texas (near Austin, so central Texas), our coldest temperatures were December 23rd, we were 13 degrees, and wind chill was -3. Our winds were gusty up to 60 mph. Our natural gas company had an issue with pressure in our local area and our furnace, water heater and stove are all natural gas so we were without heat and not enough pressure to cook for about 24 hours, but at least it wasn't like snowapocalypse in February 2021 where we without electricity and water for 4 days with arctic temperatures and 6 inches of snow. We had a couple of space heaters, and we dressed warm, heated up leftovers in the microwave, and watched TH-cam.

Yay! I’m glad you were able to get a deer. Not as bad here in Michigan as the apocalyptic forecast was predicting. We got about 4 inches of snow and the wind is blowing but nowhere near the 50mph gusts we were supposed to get. It’s 10° but the wind chill is making it feel like-8°. Sunrise is at 8:12 and sunset is at 5:03. It’s all uphill from here though. Merry Christmas 🎄 and keep living free!

Brian, I went to work today (23 Dec) and it was - 4 in my truck. We received about an inch of snow overnight but the roads are all iced over due to the rain we received yesterday during the daytime. I work in an older building on Campbell and all of the pipes froze overnight. We called DPW (Dep of Public Works) and they just shook their heads and said that they would come back on Tuesday to see if the pipes burst. I live in TN but the KY border is less than a mile from my house and this area isn’t made for temps below freezing.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from south Mississippi where it is currently 26 degrees with “feel like” temp of 13 at 2 pm. We usually need AC or at least the ceiling fans to circulate air at this time of year. Our colder weather seems to be late January through March. 😆

It's great that you got another Deer, when the freezer is full it's another blessing IMO. 28 F is our high today and a Low of 15 F in Timmins ON Canada, with light snow and about 8" inches of snow on the ground presently. It dipped down to -5 or so here in SW Pennsylvania. Such a large and fast temperature drop. It went from 42 degrees to 0 in just a couple hours. Plenty of high wind to go with it. I'm not sure how much daylight but if I had to guess I would say just over 9 hours.

Living in central England, temperatures did drop to unusually cold 21F we have about 8 hrs daylight on solstice, love seeing how you live up there, thanks for all the videos.

Down here on Mobile Bay we had single digit will chill and upper teens. For us that's cold. Have not had that much since childhood. I love it!

In Minnesota we had 8 hours and 45ish minutes of daylight on our shortest day of the year.. As far as temps go, I saw -11. Not the coldest weve seen in recent years but I decided to keep my nature hike under an hour because the wind was blowing pretty good

Just discovered your channel, love it. I'm in a heat wave compared to you guys, it got to 39° which is wilting my vegetables and making the chooks pant. I follow another awesome recently retired coast guard military, called Home Free Alaska, give them a peek as they are such a lovely couple, just starting out on their Freedom. -30°F here yesterday morning in east central Wyoming with a high of -12°F and our furnace motor decided to quit. No motor in town. So no heat last night luckily it only got down to -12°F last night. Space heaters and wood stove got us through the night. Still waiting on the new motor. Merry Christmas remember the real reason for the season!

Hey Brian love the videos. Here in south central Kentucky it was -2 with a windchill of -18 at 6:00 am. It’s 12:30 and only warmed up now to 2 degrees with a windchill of-16. Yes this is south central Kentucky at the moment. Unbelievable. Y’all have a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Well, it’s Dec 29th. I hope you had a very nice Christmas. Glad you got the deer. I got one in Nov during our rifle season here in Ky. We got some snow before Christmas and the thermometer on Christmas Eve was -2 about 4am. It has since warmed up. I think today it was near 60. Rain coming tonite. Stay warm and have a good 2023.....🎉

Your videos are always sooo good and interesting and informative, hunting or not!! I really like hunting videos and for me hunting is also your fantastic videos when you go fishing. Great that you got some meat for the freezer. Here in Denmark the shortest day was the 21st and we "only" had 7 hours of light. Now we are looking forward to longer days, but I love all the seasons. mobile wood holder is great idea. You are the first off gridder with enough common sense to have one. Should really save on the MANY trips to the woodshed to restock firewood in house
As a former civilian army ammunition manager noticed the artillery ammo boxes. They come in hand for a lot of uses. Also, if you run out of wood, you can always burn them until you can restock the wood in your woodshed.
Ha that’s true. We hold our kindling in them.
Going down to -16c tonight - 30c with the wind chill here in NorthEast Ontario. Blizzard yesterday brought 40cm snow as well.
