Great video Brian. The loved the shots you got off the bow of the boat. If I could get my hands on half the big logs you have down there, I’d be in hog heaven.

I understand but for me it’s the opposite - the older I get the more I miss the dry cold of Northern Alberta. I live in Southern Ontario and the dampness is a killer. I don’t actually know if Alaska is a dry cold or damp. I guess that would make the difference.

I was born in Alaska but was moved when very small. I do not have much memory of it. I think of maybe going back someday. I wrote a mostly fictional book (Weak Love and Strong Love) that had a Russian tsar as a character. After choosing him as a character for the book, I read somewhere that in reality he was the tsar that sold Alaska to America. I was very pleased and found it significant I had picked him for the book and then found out he had been the one to sell the state I was born in to America.

Thanks Dan. I hate throwing them back to but to help the population grow we need wildlife management.

If you put all your household waste into a net tied to a long rope with a marker at the other end drop that into the water at the same place every time you can attract crabs and fish to the same spot then set your traps, just have a go and see, you might be surprised at the results, fish and crabs always go to places they know where food is, just the same as us 😁👍

Looks like you could benefit from the installation of a crab davit, to assist with lifting those crab traps. Easy to install, not expensive, removable and will save your back and the side of the boat. Great videos!

A boat with a bit of freeboard would help so the pots can be pulled whilst standing up would be good and far safer.

Them stumps can be sassy. did you ever think about the whistle and chooch method? Could try the old snatch and whirl technique. Frigsaking will woller out a tractor, boy howdy. i seen the back woods hicks do it with a log and a horse, I'll tell you what.
