Sweet setup dude, I just got back into music after 16 years of being more into drugs than anything else and was thinking of grabbing the kp3 to pair with my guitar to start with. Thanks for the demo
I just learned so much watching this. I just got a used korg kaoss pad 3+ and it didn't come with directions. I read the online manual but skipped some stuff because I couldn't visualize it. Now with this video I understand slicing and that volume changing tracks isn't a deep menu dive. Also the hold effect button. Thank you for doing this video. 😊
I've had a kp3 someone gave me for awhile. I'd love to see more tutorials on using it with the deluge and a dedicated Playlist. Ron thank you so much for your deluge videos. You're the best! 💙
@@RonCavagnaro Honestly everything about it. So many people use them yet there is hardly no info on them. I don't understand how guys like you come to deeply understand so many different instruments AND find time to make so many great videos for others. Right now I just have deluge kp3 and guitar. Lots of gear I want but gotta wait. I've had the deluge for awhile and your videos are really the best and so helpful. Super grateful. I feel like whatever you teach with the kp3 would pretty much apply to anything ppl use it for so maybe just make more videos on different ways using it with the deluge and guitar.
@@GruevyJamLover oh thanks I've been making music for like 30 years and have understood a lot of this stuff on my own. I also read the manuals thoroughly and try to explain it in the most simple way. So when I prepare for a video I get to know everything closely so over time it can seem I am ahead of the curve but really just have spent the time on nuance for each gear :)
great video. how can I save the live samples created with the kaosspad? and how did you connected the guitar to be used with the KP3 as well? thank you
Thanks for the video. I still have mine and am still wondering/looking for a solution to get it into a setup with my Electron boxes. Speak only tempo sync via midi. The KP3 can do that with other Korg devices or as I have seen via Traktor but do you have a solution how to sync the KP3 for example with a digitakt? Maybe external midi bridges?
Thanks for the tutorial I just got my kp3+ and I'm still learning the quirks. Is there a way to make it to where samples aren't altered by bpm changes or triggers via notes when connected through midi. This is my main effects processer and I use the sampler for vocal samples from films ect. I want to be able to use the midi granular effect on my synth ect. without pitch shifting my samples.
I'm_in_the_Funeral_Business htx i think both the kp3 and Kaoss Pro cannot realtime time stretch so bpm changes will always affect pitch. I guess what you mean about the synth is to be able to process just that and not whats already looping. Im unsure if you can isolate that, but i seem to remember the version 2.0 firmware added polyphonic sampling whatever that means. Oh and more sample trigger options like one hit, trigger hold etc. To prevent your synths triggering the kp3 or vice versa ensure both units are operating on different global midi channels. There is also a midi filter page in the kp3 midi menu. It can also be put into midi control mode to control external midi gear. Experiment using your synth and kp3 on the same midi channels, you can get some weird results and happy accidental sounds, just be sure to have a recorder handy to catch them!! Ive always had issues locking my kaoss pro to kp3 midi sync. My K Pro just simply refuses to loop for long keeping time. But the kp3 properly starts the loop at beat 1, the Kaoss seems to be ‘always looping’ in the background. 😑 Hope that helps Jb xx
Could you please detail your order of operations for this setup? I'm trying to figure out how to best integrate my KP3 into my workflow and your rig is very inspiring. Thanks!
I don't have the same setup now but I just have everything go into my mx1 mixer and the aux send goes out to my kaoss pads. I have a kp3 and kp3+. Thanks!
@@RonCavagnaro Thanks for the prompt reply! Based on what you are saying, I'm imagining my instruments/mic into my Zoom R16 Audio Interface/mixer, then output into the KP3 line in, then KP3 output to monitors? The issue is I'm trying to set up with Ableton Live. Have you ever used a DAW for something similar to this/using the KP3? Any tips? I am a relative newbie, and struggling to comprehend how to get the effects to the individual components (keys, vocals, etc) then vs the master (or any single channel).
