Early JS serial number 556 (like under 4k serial number) had some Swiss internals, then changed to US made internals, but overall the quality of the US parts are just as good, but collectors pay more for these. The JS serial numbers under I think 13K are very good, reliable guns, they have the two thin ribs on the lower vs the one thick vs thin on the later built guns JT's. If you have one of the JS guns you have a nice 556.
The 556r's you want one of the 28c's and up Second Gen's which fixed alot of the problems of the early models.
So on 556's early is better, 556r's...2nd Gen is better.

Putting it on the fouled setting actually uses a little less gas, but both settings are way overgassed, and their indistinguishable. I bought a SIG 556 rifle for $1800, I had to send it to SIG for repairs 4 times, my iron sights could not be zeroed, my bolt catch broke, my groups were 18” at 50 yards…SiG claimed that I needed match ammo and they also questioned my shooting skills, they were so rude to me that it made me very depressed I spent so much money on a junk rifle, turns out it had a bad barrel…BUT wait there’s more, these rifles have bolt carrier wear issues, the carrier smacks receiver and causes terrible accuracy…their fix was take a dremel to carrier so it doesn’t hit the trunion…when I received my rifle back from SIG the last time I was shooting and receiver scope rail just flew right off the rifle because apparently they loosen it up and didn’t tighten it up correctly. Total junk rifle, super heavy, not as accurate as AR15, very expensive. Dealing with SIG customer service was a nightmare, after they claimed I couldn’t shoot I uploaded a video firing my basic M4 rifle with iron sights at 100 yards then fired my SIG with a Leupold scope and groups with M4 were 3” and SIG was 12”, clearly they should have just given me a new rifle. So we told them we needed it because a local police department wanted a demo for a swat team. They all but straight up accused us of lying. I’ve never had a problem with them except for a xi. The front sight was mounted on the gas block and the rail. So when it got hot the sights moved. Moved the sight solely onto the rail shot fine.

Yeah there are lots of thieves but new people coming into hobby seldom know the “tricks” thieves use.
A lot of my videos are aimed at “newbies” as I’m trying to get more people interested and not disgusted by being ripped off.

Sig Sauer USA Sig 556 rifles are all poor quality rifles . You're better off buying the Sig 553 ,551 , 550, or the PE90 .

How can you make a video about overpaying and not even have a clue what they are worth?

For several reasons, first of all, the prices, go up and down second videos, get old and when somebody looks at it and sees the prices that I’m quoting from a while ago, they are misled. This video was made six months ago. Do you think the prices are the same now as they were then? The information stays valid whether the prices change or not.
