Thanks for sharing. I loved seeing and learning about their new years traditions. How was the egg coffee? It looked 👀 😅 I would definitely not visit during the holiday.
Good video. Thanks! I'm coming to Vietnam for 2 months and debating being in Da Nang for Tet. I appreciated your honesty about pros and cons. Never heard about the little fires everywhere. I think that the smoke would bother me. Also, someone else mentioned that there is no garbage pickup at all. OMG. Did you experience that? That would be a definite turn off for me.
Glad you enjoyed! If you go out on the nights just before or the night of New Year’s Eve the smoke may bother you. If you stay near the beach in Da Nang as opposed to a local neighborhood, the smoke won’t be so bad. The most important thing is to not walk through the ashes. As far as garbage pick up I saw each individual family clean their area. They will leave the ash piles from the ancestor blessings for a while though. Da Nang was very clean in general.
Hi, thank you for the interesting vlog. Honestly i have no idea about tet before, and i was going through u tube to see what events are planned in Saigon and Da nang in the next month. I am planning to visit Vietnam for first time from Jan 25 to Feb 5 , but feel hesitated now that during tet holidays every touristic place and shops..etc are closing! Do you think my trip time will be normal activites as the regular days, or will be limited activities because of tet ? Your advise is appreciated, thanks again.
Please study the Vietnam history. Tet is the Vietnamese version of Chinese lunar New year. China had occupied and influenced the Vietnamese territory. The ancestral history reveals it all.
Please fo to vietnam and support as much as you can!!! It's a great country
Yes, it is!

I have that shirt "Vietnamese Coffee", I got it at the airport in Vietnam. It was so much fun!

It depends on what you want to see and do. Many things will be closed for 1-2 days but places that cater to tourists will be open.
I miss the food in Vietnam! I’m so sorry everything was closed and you couldn’t enjoy the full experience.
I still had a great time and a feel for what it’s like during a non-holiday time!
Nice video !
Glad you enjoyed it
