If she had just said “I had a manic few years, got face tattoos I regret, and now have to live with this on my face” I know that people would be sympathetic to that! Almost everybody who has tattoos has one or two that they don’t particularly like anymore, I know I do! There was no need for the non consensual lie
Exactly! Like being a victim of SA is traumatising, and can definitely cause Mania to dramatically spiral. However the disfigurement she received from this was ultimately a lie that takes voices away from people who have been disfigured after and during SA. That's what makes me and so many others upset, it's claiming she was disfigured during her assault when she WASN'T. Her facial tattoos were ones she genuinely wanted and liked having, they werent a constant reminder of her trauma, like victim's scars and marks are
from the instagram post it looks like she took a tattoo gun to her own face during a manic episode, and she wouldn't be the first person to do that but its gross that she would make up such a horrible story for sympathy
I’m sorry but mental health isn’t an excuse to lie about being forced to have your face tattooed and being sexually assaulted. She is still responsible for her actions.
there's this pathology called mythomania, people who impulsively lie and lie and lie and can't stop won't stop. I wouldn't be surprised, but it's not justified, it's a habit not a permanent condition as far as I'm aware.
Unless her mental health issues are actually the reason she couldn't get any of it right. The whole "Mental health isnt an excuss" line is just another "excuss for bigotry and abelism against those with more serious mental health issues. These things come in all shapes and sizes. Effect people in all kinds of ways so that they don't even know they're being effected at the time. No to people will experience the same traume or mental health issues. Please dont ise this not an excuse line, because often, it is a reason. Just like a broken leg is a reason for someone not to be able to walk without a cast and a crutch.
Are you mentally ill yourself? I am and it doesn't stop me from accountability, yes, it's a reason for *some* understanding and leniency but this elaborate lie, disproven with clear evidence is disgusting and deserves shame and consequence.
@@cynicallemonade1792no I’m sorry. That’s not ableist. Try saying this load of bs to someone who’s been abused by someone with mental health issues. Say that to anyone negatively impacted by someone’s bad choices. That’s honestly you just erasing their experiences by saying people not allowing terrible actions to slide are being bigoted and ableist. MENTAL HEALTH IS NOT AN EXCUSE FOR ATROCIOUS BEHAVIOR. P E R I O D. Re: your example of a broken leg. When someone commits a mass shooting I guess we’re supposed to just be like “oh they’re mentally ill it’s ok.” A broken leg IS NOT the same as blaming your bad behavior and horrible lies on your mental fucking health. Stop comparing things that AREN’T comparable *at all*. Most of us have mental health issues and manage to not do this kind of stuff. I am SO TIRED of people getting away with everything because of their mental health. It’s just not a goddamn excuse. It’s not. Period. I don’t even care if the mental health issue is pathological lying. It still harms the people in the other end. Quit this bs.
Having a manic episode and mental health problems during which you get face tattoos you regret… like that’s also a powerful story. It could have been used to educate artists and clients alike about signs of mania and how to tattoo more responsibly. Sure she may not have gotten go fund me money but… idk weird situation.
My exact thought tbh Like if she'd been honest about getting bad tattoos during a manic episode, i think people still would have felt for her and tried to help her out!! It might not have gotten as sensationalized, but i think it still would have been a story. Gabbie Hanna got neck tats during a manic episode, which she later got removed. As much as the internet loves to dunk on her, I've pretty much only seen sympathy for that particular struggle of hers 🤷🏻♀️
A lot of sa survivors self harm so it could have been her way of coping, maybe face tattoos made her feel in control of her body and in a manic episode and trying to cope with trauma she ended up making some bad decisions. And she didn’t feel people would understand so she said it was done to her. In a way I get it, the assault did cause the tattoos in a way just not how she said
The way she switched from “she told my story so beautifully” to “SHE NEVER BOTHERED TO TALK TO ME” is shocking. She definitely needs to take real responsibility for her lies
I hope Treacle Tatts takes this as a learning experience. I'm a grape survivor, and had to grow up in a violent household. As much as it seems unfathomable, ppl do lie about these things to get attention, paint themselves as a victim or to get out of trouble. One of my own family members has lied twice that I know of about being graped to get out of cheating on her bf, and out of revenge of a guy dumping her. The 'believe all women' thing should be that we should support anyone to make a claim to police about assault, but to convict anyone of a crime there does need to be evidence. It's tragic cuz there's many victims who don't have evidence, but there's also many liars out there who if we blindly believe would be destroying the accused person's life when they're innocent.
@@mrs.h2725the fake stories and accusations make it harder for real victims. I think people who lie about it should be mandated to get therapy while serving time in prison. You can cause someone to unalive themselves over fake accusations.
It’s already so hard for victims to speak out about sexual assault, and this really isn’t helping. It’s just perpetuating the stereotype of victims crying wolf with ulterior motives.
That was one of my first thoughts! I never came forward with my assaults (by my partner at the time) because I didn’t think I would have been believed. People like her make it harder for the rest of us to come forward.
yep. the people who don't want victims to have justice will hold onto any "evidence" that victims, especially female victims, are liars. every time someone does lie about something like this, it makes it worse for everyone who has been through SA.
Well now she claims the assault still happened but the tattooing "scratching" occurred later.. honestly it's the boy who cried wolf over & over again.. i can't trust any of her story anymore
So she blacked out her face, regretted it, made up a story that would gain her sympathy, started two separate Go Fund Me’s, got someone to help her for free, and then went viral and got called out for the lie. I mean, it is what it is.
Yeah. The “I’m sorry you feel ___” isn’t any kind of real apology, it’s just a way to avoid accepting any responsibility for your actions & the hurt they caused. It’s giving “sorry you’re having these totally irrational feelings that’re unconnected to anything I did”.
If someone does this LEAVE, i genuinely think my ex is a narcissist, he’d lie to you but he was super convincing, he’d look you deadpan in the eyes and promise and swear, you’d start to feel your going mental because you know he’s lying even if you had proof. He’d carry on lying to the point you Start believing your wrong, and your like I have the proof send him messages and he’d act as if it’s fake, Wtf you can see it and still deny it. Once/if he did admit it that his apology he’d basically say it because you have too. you should just get over the hurt because he’s said sorry, then if it came back up in convo he’d deny it all over again. You’d be like i have the full conversation wtf no didn’t happen. I used to rack my brain how can he deadpan stare in my eyes know the pain he’s causing and not feel anything. Everything he said was a personality trait when we first met also changed hated drugs toke drugs, anti cheating cheats, not one things. Just leave because you develop anxiety from the constant doubting yourself
I’ve gone through a manic episode before that lasted about 2 months, during which i tatooed my stomach by myself, and obviously it came out looking like shit. when you are manic you don’t really realize what you’re doing is wrong. the amount of shame you feel once you get back to your senses is overwhelming. i got it covered up with a beautiful mandala, but during the time i had that tattoo i was honest with others about how it happened, and also honest with myself. the lies she is propagating are not only harmful to those consuming her story, but i can imagine it’s not helping her either.
I have the feeling that she was riding the wave after realising that it gave her some attention and some kind of fame. It's sad, and as demonstrated it leads to a fall once people are backtracking the story.
@marjorie666it doesn’t matter if you’re perfect or not - there are still tons of people with mental disorders that do lie, do cheat, etc. and this is one example. You are the reason why people are seen as evil and not mentally ill.
You must know that none of us blame you for sharing the story she had made up, you just feel so terrible about it and you shouldn’t, nearly everyone fell for what she said, she convinced nearly everyone what she went through was true. I’m devastated she would lie about this, it’s disgusting.
You need to speak for yourself. Not everybody is going to want to say anything and risk backlash but some of us do recognize that it's irresponsible to blindly believe somebody's wild story that they have no evidence of and then help platform them and enable them to manipulate a much bigger audience. You can choose not to hold it against her but she WAS irresponsible. The story wasn't even convincing!
I mean... she cleary didnt do enough research. Just went with the story out of 2 articles. With accusations as serious as this I would made more research myself or even reach out to a "victim" to make sure that I can share their story.
@@Lindseyisloony Saying that the story wasn't "convincing" is so harmful to actual SA victims. She was not the only one who believed the story. I would rather believe SA victims and be wrong than not believe them and be wrong, and I'm sure it is the same for Lauren, she did nothing wrong by believing it and then owning her mistake. Could she have done more research, sure, but at the end of the day, the liar is at fault. Platforming the story of a "survivor" when tied into the content she makes is not bad, you should instead direct those feelings towards the liars that make up SA stories to get something out of it, That is disgusting behavior, believing SA survivors is not. Many people have no evidence of the horrible things they go through, it does not make their experiences any less valid. You are just using the same talking points people who blame victims use. This is not the first time a lie like this has happened and TH-camrs platform it to help fund a cause, TH-camrs are not journalists, Lauren believed a journalist and also had Taylor saying that the video was accurate and asked people to watch it. I also do not blame her for paying no mind to people saying it was fake and feeling validated by Taylor herself so many times. Lauren is owning to her mistake, Taylor has not, You are upset at the wrong person here.
@Gusik and nobody would have seen your hypothetically better researched video you envision, becauseyou didn't make one. All you did was sit on your butt and criticize. Treacle tats doesn't owe you "more research", she's a content creator who did do research.
She doesn't seem to understand that the BIGGEST issue is she claimed the face tattoos were profanities done during an SA. If she'd said the first scratch (on the cheek) tattoo was done against her will and the rest that lead to the blackout was done as an attempt to reclaim it/during a mania episode I don't think this much backlash would've happened.
When the video came out I found an article that stated that she already had some face tattoos at the time of her assault. "When she was a young woman, her face tattoo journey began as thin lines on either side of her face connecting her eyes to her temples. It was “war paint,” she said, which White inked herself during a period of “mania” while working at a tattoo shop in an attempt to prove herself as an artist." And based on her revision, the second assault (after her marriage) when she went into the woods with her "friends" was when she was forcibly tattooed. Presumably after her post where she claims that her face tattoo was finally completed. Just because she used the phrase 'scratch work' does not mean that she literally means what Lauren pressumed it to mean. She has memory issues and ADHD: she isn't going to use the correct words all of the time. If what she has said is true she probably has over a decade of people shaming her for memory issues and not believing her. On top of that she has all the shame and stigma from multiple mental illnesses, as well as potentially 2 sexual assaults. It would be rational to come out with the truth once the mistake was realized, but people aren't rational. God forbid that she doesn't have the greatest faith in humanity 🙄.
@@yourfisharemine “if what she has said is true” ….It’s not lmao. She sounds like a pathological liar. I don’t believe a word she says anymore, because I have common sense.
@yourfisharemine hi! I also have memory issues stemming from ADHD. If I was planning on talking extensively about my personal history, including being interviewed about it, I would make sure I got my timeline straight. She could have looked through her social media, pictures on her phone, asked friends, etc. for the correct dates, then wrote it all down in order to help her keep track of it all. Yeah it's more difficult to do that stuff if you have ADHD, but when you're going public with something so serious it's important to keep your facts straight.
As someone who taught themself to edit photos in order to photoshop myself as Joe Jonas’ girlfriend in 2007, I can say with almost certainty that if she was editing her skin she would not be leaving the acne in the photos.
I love that you added the cringe reason why you learned to photoshop. I can feel the level of skill you got to better knowing why you were learning. It checks out.
I was in a Facebook group with her!!! When she posted pics about how shed done this to herself! Everyone in the comments dragged her, for doing somethings so potentially dangerous. She was foghting with everyone in the comments, about how she didn't care if it cost her jobs or relationships. She did this to herself, and if i can find the thread from years ago ill send you screenshots if you want.
The audacity. She said a completely different story on TikTok when I found her. Basically "I was in a manic episode and this is a viking warrior paint design that I chose to tattoo before I went under for surgery due to cancer." She also said that her boyfriend/tattoo artist took advantage of her mental state and convinced her to do it?
@@IratePuffinit's like I said, I don't think SHE even knows the truth at this point. I think she may just be heavily delusional and mentally unwell and someone needs to reach out to support for her.

fr-it was a ‘MISTAKE’ that she chose to lie and got caught about it. she’s trying to make it seem like it was an ‘accident’ that she just got some dates wrong. she “didn’t expect the accidentally wrong story to spread” meanwhile she saw poor treacle make the video about the wrong story and then told everyone that was the right story several times??? makes no sense she’s clearly going through something and needs help-she should just come clean and take a break from the internet.
@@clarkem.5269 gaslighting is EXACTLY what she did here. She pretended like the story was hers when it fit and it was so “beautifully told by treacle” and then when she was exposed suddenly the story “left too much out” and it was “treacle’s fault she didn’t talk to me first”
The YT algorithm is insane 😂, I saw clips of this gal featured on YMH podcast. We all fell for it thinking she had mental health and addiction issues that led her to inking her face when she was young. I actually thought we should try to start a crowd funding to help her get it removed. Fawk lol, forget that now.
What I'll never understand about people who lie (mental health issues aside), is that she could've just told the truth and received the sympathy from well-meaning people she wanted. She could've set up a gofundme and said, "I permanently effed up my face during a period of poor mental health, and I regret it and now every time I look in the mirror I'm forced to remember that dark time in my life. I could really use the help to afford laser tattoo removal, if anyone feels inclined to help" and I guarantee there would've been people who supported her.
@@tolstoyismyhomeboy People really like to make more trouble for themselves, I've noticed! We all do it, but some are worse than others. Sadly, I don't believe her when she says all of this started because she wanted to help others. I'm not saying she doesn't want to help others, but I think she's telling herself that story so that she doesn't have to face the reality: that she's struggling, she's been struggling for a long time, and she needs to do some intense inner work before she can even think about helping other people, because her issues are causing her to compulsively lie and seek attention from others. And the thing is - all of that is okay! She's allowed to be struggling and messing up and searching for validation. The problem is that she can't truly admit any of that, she won't take responsibility or accountability, she hasn't genuinely apologized, she continues to blame others and double down on lies, which is ironically doing more harm than good to the people she's claiming to help. Sorry, I have a lot of thoughts on this 🤣
@@ZoesZooI agree, making up something this horrific could have never had the intention to help others. And even if she deludes herself into believing this, that’s not how helping works. You aren’t helping cancer patients by making up that you have cancer. This behaviour does the opposite and harms the group of people you supposedly wanted to help and every rational person would understand that.
So, basically her story is that she didn't think her interview with the *NEW YORK POST* wouldn't spread and be covered by other people, but also the only reason she did the interview in the first place is because she wanted her story to be shared... Um, I'm sorry, what?
She keeps saying “the dates I fucked up” but who cares if the dates are messed up because we can clearly see that the tattoos were not what she was claiming them to be. That’s the issue. Not the stupid ass dates.
THANK YOU!!! I've only seen one other person point this out! And apparently on Tiktok she has a completely different story of how she got her blackout that has nothing to do with being SA'd. I don't know what to believe.
I mean, she was still sexually assaulted at the end of the day, multiple times. So I'm not sure what's disgusting here, other than other lies which are not pertaining to her Sexual Assaults at all. How you've worded your comment is making it sound like she didn't go through SA at all, and that her other lies completely negates or overrides the fact she obviously does have trauma/was sexually assaulted.
@@DuskyofdazeHow do you know she SA? Do you have evidence? I don’t believe a word that comes out of her mouth now unless I see evidence. And that’s on her!
In the US, ‘scratch work’ is a term used for tattoos done by non-professional or inexperienced tattooers. They’re usually poorly done and can leave permanent damage. Think of the tattoos done by someone who doesn’t know how to tattoo but orders a tattoo machine online and just goes for it.
Scratch work can also just mean a roughed out drawing in general. Like if I make a sketch to convey an idea for an art piece I could call it scratch work
My first tat was done in a trailer by an actual artist who for some reason couldn't or didn't want to pay to get their license renewed (yay Texas!) but it felt kind of like a rite of passage so I don't regret it.
I understand it's not as sensational as "my abusive ex tattooed slurs on my face" but getting tattoos you regret on your face of all things is still a compelling enough narrative. If she really wanted to help people she still could have by speaking her truth and encouraging people to think twice about face tattoos, or even encouraging tattoo artists to be more discerning about performing them. I'm sure if she spoke her truth about how having half her face blacked out affects her every day life, one of the laser removal places still would've offered to help her. I can't imagine even entertaining the idea of allowing that father to pay for my treatments after lying about it.
What fucks me up though is that it sounds like she WAS just trying to give perspective as a mentally unwell person who made a mistake during a manic episode. She WAS doing that! But then she went further and came out with this new sequence of events. It's just gross.
@@mandapannts Yeah I wonder if she saw that American horror story freakshow season and got a little too triggered seeing the face tattoo's got a little manic delusional and then she felt like she couldn't take it back This is why one of Jordan Peterson's 12 rules for life is don't lie because it will eventually catch up to you
I felt guilty for doubting her story when I initially watched your video. I've seen so many cover ups that it is habit to try and decipher what lies beneath. The more I examined photos of her the more confused I became. Where was the supposed "terrible things" on her face? All I could make out were patterns and images that were by no means nefarious. I felt so guilty for doubting her, then felt more guilt for wanting to prove myself wrong and have it be true- because that would mean this terrible thing had happened. I can only imagine how hard it is to be supportive and believe a victim only to find out they weren't being truthful. It's so difficult to deal with even doubting a victim, as that's a lose lose scenario. We always want to believe those who need a voice. Thank you for continuing to cover this and helping to close this chapter. It's not the outcome anyone wanted but the silver lining is, despite all the lies... at least this atrocity never happened.
I looked at the thumbnail of the video and I got an odd sense about it. As someone who has gone through horrific SA and DV I tend to pick up on stuff others don’t always. I believe victims first always, but when I get a sense that something is off I trust my gut. But I am not shocked that this happened .
In the middle of her rambling, she outed herself. She said, 'So yes, the offer of having my SELF HARM removed.' She did it to herself or knowingly had someone do it. Why she did it doesn't matter now. And when this first became a story, I knew she was full of it because you can see the ink under the blackout. There was nothing bad under there, just ugly.
That was the thing that always gave me a certain feeling. Like you mean to tell me all this happened but there's no evidence of any scarring / raised areas or anything, any former evidence at all, of the previously done tattoos?
@luxtobeyou exactly, if someone had been inking her and maybe holding her down or did some crude tats, there would be some kind of evidence. I hate that she let that be the narrative. If she wanted it gone, she could have still pleaded and gotten help with the truth.
@@juzkiddinthere would’ve been records with the police and hospital which she would’ve gone to for sure. people would have been arrested. this is clearly a stupid tattoo she got that she thought was cool (wether it was bipolar mania or just because) she did it to herself.
This is exactly what I was saying when I first saw her. There was no scarring from the original which you would assume there would be cuz they were doing it out of malice. But I didn't want to think too hard about it because I didn't want to discount a possible victim from a horrific situation. Her regret over her face tattoo reminds me of the one girl from a while back that tried to sue the tattoo artist for putting stars on her face while she was "asleep". Turns out she wanted them but backed out when her family and friends didn't like it. People need to start taking accountability for their own bad decisions.
There is a difference between harassing a victim and looking through someone's facebook and figuring out a VERY OBVIOUS thing like a face tattoo didn't occur when they said it did.
I'm going to be honest Taylor seems like they are not giving an actual apology, they are running away and still claiming victimhood. They are throwing the last f you out there and leaving without taking any accountability. An apology should never be "I'm sorry but". As a survivor of domestic abuse and a SA (more then once) survivor the idea of someone using that type of trauma to lie or even just that actually happening but using it as an excuse takes away validity for people who come forward and it's gross. I appreciate you bringing light to this even when you where given wrong information, it shows maturity and accountability something Taylor is clearing lacking in their posts. Keep being awsome Lauren
Also I didn't really watch the original video because I saw Taylor on tiktok live and some things seemed wierd and I didn't want to watch your video with a bias and I'm kinda glad I didn't
Why do you refer to Taylor as they? She is not multiple people. We know who she is so there is literally no need for they. I am not being disrespectful but reading they did not know they they. They. No. She. Stop it please.
@iamnothingness “They” can be used as a singular pronoun, language changes lol. “You” was originally plural, but I don’t see anyone complaining about “thou” falling out of use.

She might be a victim, she might be bipolar but none of us will truly ever know. Intentionally or not, the only thing I know for sure is that she is a compulsive liar. Most compulsive liars whole heartedly believe their lies. She is definitely mentally ill, but unfortunately her mental illness makes her absolutely unreliable as a source of fact.
As someone who is both an abuse and sexual abuse survivor, and someone who lives with mental illness, the fact that she made up a whole story about having horrible things tattooed on her face against her will is really offensive. If she had just said that she wound up getting a full face tattoo during a manic episode nobody would have questioned it.
@@LindseyisloonyThis wasn't just any case, though. When it comes to abuse, we need to believe victims, because 99% of the time they're telling the truth. If we only focused on trying to prevent the percentage who lied, we'd never help the people who didn't. As Lauren said, asking abuse victims for proof is very negative and not only requires the abuse to leave a paper trail (which this stuff usually doesn't) but also requires for the victim to possibly relive their traumatic experience. It's dangerous, and harms victims, and scares them into silence.
I have awful memory, I can't remember stuff from ages ago or recently. Still, if I don't remember the date, I DONT put it down, or ask if someone else does
i’m sure some people would’ve wanted to help her regardless of how the tattoo got there, but lying in order to gain sympathy, taking advantage of kindness, and taking trust away from victims is disgusting. her lie was so extreme and vile, she really was just being selfish in hopes of playing victim.
Yeah honestly, if she had just said that her mental health caused her to make decisions with tattoos that she now lives the consequences of, people would still care and want to help. A lot of people with Bipolar could relate to that. Or if she had said that she went through an abusive relationship and she initially had the tattoos as a sign of strength but again regretted it later, or was treated badly because of it. People would still care. This whole fabrication is just unnecessary
The sad part is that this woman didn't even have to lie (if in fact shes being truthful about being bipolar). She made a decision while experiencing mental health/mania issues. She would have gotten the same warm, heartfelt empathy from others.
This is in absolutely no way your fault. You did what you think was right and talked about a story, that many people thought to be true. You are amazing for standing up and even now taking your time to tell the "TRUE" story. This is so wrong on a whole other level. I can't believe people are willing to make up stories like this for attention, to take advantage of people or whatever. People like this are the ones, that make it extremely hard for real victims to come forward and be believed by everyone. As someone who went through years of r**** as a kid, this is just pissing me off and saddens me. I had the "luck" that people believed me and that i was able to get the help that i needed. But so many aren't believed because of stories like this. Thank you for everything you do, you are amazing ❤
I'm very sorry that that happened to you and I'm glad you got believed I had somthing similar happen to me as a kid but I never told anyone about it nor do I plan on it , but tbh ppl who take story's like this and apply to all cases of (R and SA) were going to do that regardless its the same with the discourse on carlee Russell if all it took was 1 liar to discourage you from believing victims you didn't care to begin with . Especially since the vast majority of victims have nothing to gain from lying , we don't have a victim oriented justice system. The amount of liars when it comes to stuff like this is very very very miniscule.

It doesn't make sense to me that she would go up to her tattoo shop boss and have him agree to black out someone's face to hide stuff, rather than contact someone whom could do laser removal straight away and continue to cover it with concealer until then. Specially someone in the tattoo business would know all about tattoo removal, I would think, or at least have some idea....
I think the argument to back up that it was easier to get it blacked out is that all this supposedly had happened in 2008 and laser removal was not big back then and it cost a lot
Taylor's actions actively hurt real victims of assault and the ability to have their voices and stories heard. What a disgusting thing for someone to do. You dont need to fart all over the place about how galaxy brain you are for only believing a crime happened if a conviction has also happened.
Literallyyyyy. Not that I could now trust ANYTHING coming out of her mouth again after all of this. If she fessed up immidiatly after getting caught, then maybe.. but since she continued to manipulate, even blame and attack others, while taking NO accountability for anything, there is no way I could believe in anything she says from this point on.
I wish it was as easy as not expecting assault victims to explain themselves or disclose anything, as an assault victim myself, it's situations like this that is the reason assault victims are scrutinized so much...in wanting to help by telling her story, true or not, she set us back more than helped and it's very sad. Thank you for updating your viewers on the situation. It shows how much you care about the truth and that's very commendable 🙂
She didn’t want to help. She wanted attention. She wanted donations. Being a victim is used as currency by way too many people these days and it’s inevitable that people like this will lie to get the attention it brings.
I've known a few people that seemed to be more in love with the attention they received over their mental illness than pursuing any meaningful care. Her continuous alterations to her own story, and then the fact that the list of her mental illnesses continues to grow just flashes like a large warning sign that this is someone that just wants to validate her own story.
Did she though? How many times did she say she did the black out , and she was in tears saying the Post twisted her story to make her look like a victim and she didn't know what to do? She was sobbing and wanted them to print a retraction Mind you, she reads like a SA victim. I think this all did happen at a different time, and the post lied to hide the depth of her mania covering up what was put there during the SA, and she panicked at the jacked up story and didn't know what to do. I fortunately, going viral 2 weeks into your TikTok life when you have tbi and mental health issues is really complicated.
@@MoyaSeleneshe said in a post that by the time she did the NY times article that she didn't know how to correct the time line SHE had been running with so SHE made the choice to not correct it at that point. ??
@@noneyabuizz9749 Yeah. Imagine a traumatized , mentally ill introvert going viral before she even knows how to pin a post. Like, I was on live when she learned how. And when she learned FYP meant for you page. That was like 10 days ago. She thought if she corrected it, we'd all lose our shit and call her a liar about being assaulted because anxiety is hard and sometimes tells you to bolt and not attract attention. In reality, it's the internet. You be honest or you hide detail. Any discrepancy and people pounce
@@jenk4545 doesn't on live. Honestly, I have enough friends with Disassociative tendencies I feel dumb for not noticing and blanking under stress. You gotta remember the trolls came and realized asking for her story was the best way to hurt her. Only it was rapid fire AF. Not a single second to breathe or think, and some people just can't do that. She literally didn't know how to pin a post until like 2 weeks ago. I'm not sure she'd have had any reason to know there's money to be made here when this started
I was one of the people who commented on Taylor’s video saying that I saw your video and that you explained her story beautifully. I feel humiliated. As a victim sexual abuse myself this is beyond heinous to lie about. We were all used. To make up such a story and to use so many people, you have to be a sick human being. This person isn’t safe.
I don't think we have enough info to call her a narcissist. That term gets thrown around a lot on social media and it loses its severity when applied to actual narcissists. (She still could be but the info presented in this video alone isn't enough to make that determination). She definitely lied about this story and could possibly be a compulsive or pathological liar. I doubt this is an isolated incident. Pathological lying is a symptom of narcissistic personality disorder but it is also a symptom of histrionic personality disorder and her behaviors could fit that or bpd as well, we just can't make that determination from a few videos. But you're right that the tactics she used to try and divert blame and rewrite history are those commonly used by narcissists.
I mean, I believe she was getting treatment in 2018. I also believe that she had a good couple of months, hit a manic episode and stopped doing whatever her treatment was, and now her face is tattooed and here we are. She might be back on the road to recovery now but she still has to learn that a big part of recovering is being able to take responsibility for your actions whether you were in your right mind or not. And it's really, REALLY hard to do that because admitting that the person who did all those things is you is scary. But you have to do it, or you end up doing shit like this.
What the actual.....? As someone who actually had an abusive ex tattoo something on me without my permission (his initials on my wrist, thankfully they were small and have been since covered), I had so much sympathy and felt so horrible for her after your first video and now I kind of feel really betrayed and pissed off. I have no idea why someone would feel the need to lie about that other than to cover up the fact that she regrets her face tattoos because she sees that they are stupid, but lying that someone else did it by force instead of just owning up to the fact that you regret something you did is disgusting. Lying about being assaulted and going through horrors that real people actually go through is disgusting and deplorable. I wouldn't wish physical harm on anybody, but I sincerely hope that Taylor has bad karma go her way to make up for the fact that she did this. I hope she steps on a fucking Lego.
For real. I’m not traumatised (or so I feel for the moment) but I have had an abusive ex tattoo a love heart onto my back with out permission and even that was twisted enough. So because of this, I felt absolutely sick for this girl. And to now know that she’s lied about it is something else.
As someone who was in a extremely abusive relationship this makes me sick/angry. There are real victims out there that have gone through real trauma… This women needs real professional help. I really don’t think that will save her. 🤦🏻♀️ Thank you for keeping all of us up to date
I don't know if you've seen it but American horror story freak show had a character that was drugged and her father had her tattooed from head to toe as punishment. I definitely feel like this is where this person got the inspiration from for her story
As someone who’s be through something that could be the worst possible thing to happen to a woman (I don’t really like talking about it but I feel I must in this case) I believe Taylor is taking away from real actual victims. If she really was a victim of SA, I feel sorry for her, but I don’t believe that she should use that as a way to fuel her lie about her face tattoos. It’s hurtful to know that she’s using a REAL trauma, as a way to get attention. For those of us who have been through sexual trauma, it’s incredibly difficult for us already to speak out. So when people like Taylor claim to be a victim, that’s what makes the rest of us look bad and like we’re liars. 😢We aren’t liars, we want to share our stories but we struggle due to things like this.
I've been following you for years and honestly you come across as a very empathetic content creator. I understand why you wanted to believe her. I'm sorry you feel responsible for backing her, but if anything it shows how kind you are.
@@treacletatts Fully agree with @agentadvocate. I only started watching your videos in the past few months, but you are thoughtful and empathetic and kind. It's so apparent to me (and clearly to others as well). You have absolutely nothing to apologize for. In fact, you probably really helped to expose the truth, which is incredibly valuable.
The "it's everyone else's fault" pattern Taylor has is on steroids. That's a sign that someone is not, in fact, working on themselves and doesn't have "pure" intentions. People who are healing do not constantly blame other people for their f*ck ups. She's STILL lying, constantly, so I can no longer believe anything she says - which is really sad! But that's the consequence of her own actions, no one else's. (Just pointing out the pattern of how she apologizes but not really, because she'll admit she messed up dates but in the same sentence blame it on people "interrogating" her. That's not taking accountability; that's the victim narrative again)
She came across my fyp as she said she was manic and those at the tattoo shop she worked at tattooed her face as practice. I felt so bad but happy that she was trying to gey her life back on track by training to go in the psychiatric field. So hearing the "offical" story and the timeline bums me out. Thank you for being a great content creater and coming back with the correct recites!
I understand dissociative amnesia. I have some similar stuff, specifically from my childhood. I really struggle with remembering years and stuff. However, I want to point out how little you have to care to not even try to get the years right. Here's the thing about dissociative amnesia, you forget the primary trauma (what happened), you remember the secondary trauma (how you felt), and because you forgot the actions that happened, you often forget when they happened. However, you remember your feelings from that time, including other things happening. I can remember general timelines of my trauma because I remember what else I was worried about at the time. I know when event A happened because while I was stressed about that, I was also stressed about event B, and event B happened at this time, so event A happened around this time. There are absolutely huge differences throughout 10 years of your adult life. She should be able to remember the trauma of getting her face tattooed and being newly married as a pair. She wouldn't remember her face being tattooed and the excitement of her 21st birthday and the fear of her partner as a collective. She should especially remember her emotions of getting her face tattooed as positive in the beginning, as considering the photos, it seems to be that some of those tattoos were intentional and not during a manic episode, like the small barbed wire and maybe even the deer. She likely would've been excited about those because they were a choice. Even if she remembers the blackout as being a surprise that she never wanted to happen, I can tell you that many of my bipolar friends (who also have dissociative amnesia) remember a decent bit of their manic episodes. Episodes don't impact your memory, they impact your critical thinking. Getting her face tattooed and getting married are two giant decisions happening within a couple of years of each other. Even if these memories somehow got disconnected, she should know that her emotions are connected to one another and should recognize that these feelings are isolated from anything else. It is her responsibility to not actively make up lies and say things with such confidence. I can sort of believe that maybe she did end up getting an isolated memory, which is really scary when it happens because you genuinely have no way of telling when it was, and because of that, she should have never put a timeline on it. Even still, she could've used resources like her own Facebook page to see the timeline itself. This is not a behind-the-scenes-abuse, this is a face tattoo that will show up in photos. She actively chose to attach this memory to another one to make this decision she regrets not her fault. Putting an incorrect timeline on it, and especially incorrect reasoning based on a timeline she has no idea about was an active choice to mislead other people. Not checking and trying to figure out the real timeline instead of "well if it happened then then it's not my problem" and doing nothing else to correct this was an active choice.
i have bipolar disorder and have a really big ugly chest piece that i got during a manic episode and yeah it sucks, but i take ownership for that. i cannot IMAGINE making up lies like this. as a rape survivor that story made me cry and stayed with me all day. mental illness is no excuse for any of this.
This is so horrible and as someone with mental health issues to use that as a excuse why she did it is a low blow to people who suffer each and everyday with it. This is why so many people do not believe people who actually went through anything bad especially if they have no prove. As women for the most part we all have experience some form of sexual assault whether it’s physical, sexual, or emotional abuse. Lauren you have to know this was not your fault we all unfortunately have been duped by some people who claim to be victims. We always want to believe the victims whether there is evidence or not that’s just in our nature especially for us women. I just hope she learns from this and never do this again because this is very dangerous and toxic.
Sad thing… is this is why people ask for proof from victims. Because of liars like this make the so difficult for the truly innocent. People just can’t rely on blind faith & trust because of scam artists like this. Its sickening… I felt so bad in the initial video too, even though the skeptic in me was calling BS, I still tried to believe. It’s not your fault, you have a good heart and you tried to do good in the world. I guess… that’s all we can do. Keep trying to believe and do good.
I really want a pro editor to go thru and attempt to edit out her face tattoos to show us what it would REALLY look like had she edited them… for all the doubters.
There is an other incoherence that bothers me as someone who suffers from bipolar disorder (type 1) At 45min in the video she said that she has bipolar type 2, but she also said a lot that the blackout tattoo happened during a mania episode. MANIA only happens in bipolar type 1, hypomania happens in type 1 and type 2 but there is a huge difference. Mania can be extremely dangerous, most hospitalisations in bipolar disorder happen during mania episodes. The fact that she’s saying bipolar type 2 and mania really bothers me
My thoughts EXACTLY. As someone with bipolar type 1 as well, I was so confused on how she used mania and bipolar type 2 in the same breath, especially as someone who was supposedly an advocate for mental health
This isn't entirely correct. Type 1 has more or longer periods of mania than depression, type 2 has more or longer periods of depression than mania, but both depression and mania can happen with both types. I have type 2 and have definitely experienced manic episodes.
@@LolaMoon05 I’ve always been told by all psychiatrists I’ve seen since my diagnosis that manic episodes only happens in type 1. Hypomania tho is present in type 2 and can present similar symptoms than mania, but it’s not the same duration or intensity. Manic episodes lasts at least a week, not hypomanic episodes. Plus mania really affects the behaviour a lot, so much that people suffering from manic episodes often don’t recognise themselves in the actions/behaviour/words they used during their episodes
I’m just starting this video… but I have bipolar 1 and it is a nightmare. Even in my worst episodes: I’ve never lied and created stories for personal gain. It makes me so sad that people stigmatize mental illness…. Because of horrible people like her.
Same, I have bipolar type 2 and PTSD. It's a difficult thing to deal with but I have never done something like this, even when I was at my worst, I wouldn't do this. As an abuse survivor, it makes me feel sick.
as someone who has been assaulted in the past , i wouldn’t have been nearly as understanding as you’re being in this video tbh . you’re a very kind person
i agree. things like this make my blood boil and my heart breaks for all other victims of SA which stories will not be believed because people like this lie about something so serious and traumatizing for those who have really gone through this.
I just saw she uploaded a TikTok calling you out (10 hrs ago). You did the right thing, you brought light to a story that you believed was legit you believed someone who said they were a victim which speaks to your character greatly. As a victim myself I appreciate you and you are wonderful. you used your platform like you always do. Sending you love and light Lauren
Hey, you handled this the best you could with the information you had. We should believe victims, and if proof comes out later that shows one of them was lying, that doesn't mean you did anything wrong by respectfully portraying the story. It's wrong that they lied, and it hurt people, but the way you covered the story demonstrated to people who have actually gone through similar things that you are on their side. And you're handling the realization that it was a lie very well as well. You found proof and are presenting it instead of hiding and pretending you never covered it or whatever. And you're also not raging, doxing, or sending people to harass them or anything like that - just correcting the information and presenting the evidence you found. Good job.
I think this is important: "Believe victims" has never meant "swallow every sad story ever told and never ask questions." That phrase was meant for law enforcement and investigators. The thought is that victim statements often have holes, because trauma messes with memory. Assume someone is lying, and it's easy to "prove". However, the investigators going in with the belief that something happens encourages them to look further. If the person is lying, it can be better proven with a broader investigation. So, yeah, you, as a random person, don't have to feel compelled to believe everything someone says. That's a silly way to live.
“Victims should never have to provide proof to be believed” ehhh… when they’re profiting from their story? When they’re directly accusing another person? Unfortunately, liars do exist (as we see here) so proof does need to be provided for situations like this.
How bad a 'journalism' platform is Lad Bible? All they had to do to vet any of her info via dates was FB her. They didnt, but they hit the 'publish' button 👏🏻👏🏻
I have news for you. People always lied. They will always lie. The difference is that people stopped to just believe women based on words. For good reason as we can see. Makes you wonder how many more there are but everyone just believed them.
not attacking you but please don't let that be your mindset. people who lie about SA are a small minority. even a lot of "false" allegations aren't necessarily false, but are just lacking sufficient evidence to convict someone. people like this woman are vile and it sucks that they will make it harder for victims to be believed.
Real victim here. I will never understand why her story had to be inflated. She probably is a victim too but felt her story isn't sensational enough so she risked her own credibility by making it sound more intense. It's stupid. I don't understand why anyone would do that tbh
ust have to say that I'm a graphic designer. I do composite art/photo manipulation and know how to do touch ups. There's no way she covered it up in photoshop. Not that it isn't possible, but she wouldn't just look like a normal picture. It would look so polished or it would look absolutely terrible.
What tattoo artist says "I'll black that out so you can live a "Normal" Life?" When I was tattooing, I wouldn't consider tattooing anything on a person's face that wanted to "Normal" at all. Wouldn't even consider hand, neck or face tattoos for anyone who wasn't already heavily tattooed as well as interdependently set or employed for life. A sain and reputable tattoo artist would have suggested removal right away and helped her find a place to get it done. That part of the story alone set up some red flags for me. I was a tattoo artist for 11 years, and never had an issue suggesting laser removal to make my job doing a cover up easier.
Thank you for sharing your observation. I immediately thought the exact same thing when I first heard this story - who calls blacking out half a woman’s face “normal”? Another suggestion: why not contact the tattoo artist who did your face tattoo and ask him to confirm your story? Ha!
I am 48 yr old. I was just recently diagnosed with PTSD, severe depression, severe anxiety and ADD. I was in abusive relationships from my teens until I was almost 30. I am beyond angry with her. If she was truly in a “healing place” she would admit what she got wrong and take responsibility!!!!! Even the uncomfortable things. That is the first thing you learn in therapy. (I say this because I have a degree in psychology, my family member works in the therapy field and 3 of us are in therapy. I speak from a place of knowledge) yes some rape victims forget lots of details. Many also remember every detail. So I’m not angry she got the dates wrong. But once she realized the mistakes she never corrected them. More importantly she lied about HOW she got the face tattoo. I couldn’t watch the entire first video because it put me in such a bad space. Knowing what she went through. Then to find out it was all a lie???? If she is truly in therapy she needs a new therapist because the one she has isn’t helping her.
I can relate Lauren. I have anxiety and depression and major memory issues. It’s quite frustrating at times. But it’s more like walking into a room and forgetting what I came for. Not forgetting major life moments.
I have GAD and MDD myself and I do have past memory issues over current. I basically don’t remember my college years/classes knowledge I should know bc I was in a constant anxious flight/fight stare. I now can barely remember what I did two days ago. But the main thing is whether I forgot my actions-they did happen and I have to deal with it daily.
@@alirae3663 wow! I’m so sorry you have to go through that. My mother now has Alzheimer’s and forgets so much. If it’s anything like that, I know you’re suffering inside. 😢❤️
girl alright. i've got DID (also a dissociative disorder) which causes me to have amnesia. i also have CPTSD. it's so much different from having a 'bad memory', it's feeling like you know your life and reaching for proof only to come up with the wrong information or nothing at all. i can understand the fear and shame that comes with messing up times in your life to people. in the past, when i mistook timelines (& remembered after the fact or was called out) i doubled down, tried to make my story 'make sense' so i didn't seem stupid/wrong/forgetful, and it became a lie i felt i had to keep up. i used to tell so many lies about my life because i was ashamed of my amnesia & because i didn't know what was happening at the time, why i was forgetting so much, i didn't have the words for it and it was terrifying. now i know why it happens, why almost all of my life is missing/blurry. now, when i mistake timelines, events, memories, etc i admit it as soon as i realise. most people just think i'm extra forgetful, sometimes when it's smth unusual to forget people are weirded out, but overall it's easier being honest. it's better for my memory, too. it seems to me that taylor is deeply ashamed of her amnesia considering she didn't correct herself when this all began--and so far removed from reality that she thought it was ok to keep lying to thousands of people AND BENEFIT FROM IT. like yikes dude. i empathise with her but she caused a LOT of harm doing this, she has no excuse.
Lauren after everything you've had to deal with since this whole thing started, I hope you take some time for rest & self care. I imagine this has been something of a rollercoaster and you've done amazingly to keep going. Please look after yourself - your fans will 100% wait for you ❤
OMFG!! I felt so bad for her, I showed your video to my dad and he was in tears because when he was a teenager he got drunk with high school friends one nights and while he was passed out on the couch, his friends (mates) tattooed a marijuana leaf on his arm. When his very abusive father, his biological father, found out, he took a Brillo pad to my dads shoulder scrubbing at it causing a permanent scar on my dads arm/ shoulder and kicked him out when my grandfather couldn’t scrub it off! My father grew up in a very abusive home, and her story made him feel not so alone! 😡 I will not show him this video, just because I don’t want to break his heart! I’m so sorry that she used you! She doesn’t even know you and what she did is absolutely unacceptable!! She used your kindness and compassion against you!! I hate when people do stuff like this, their actions make it so that REAL VICTIMS are not believed when they’re victimized, thus RE-victimizing them all over again! Like a girl who has sex with her boyfriend gets pregnant then cries r**e when their conservative parents find out, thus causing the innocent boyfriend to be arrested and thrown in jail for a completely consensual act!! Mental health or no, she had a lot of people feeling bad for her and wanting and willing to spend their own money to help her! I’m sorry this is long winded, it’s just REALLY INFURIATING!!!❤
As someone who survived something horrible like that and that wasn’t believed by police when I went to talk about it as a teen, this is so effed up. I get messing up timeline, like I can’t remember how old I was when it happened the first time, but I acknowledge that without a problem that it could be wrong and I remember only that it was after I was 10 and before 13/turning 14 for sure. It’s a rough estimate but I don’t feel the need to remember it more correctly cause the rest is clear enough. And about the second time as a teen, I never messed up the date, and if I don’t remember the year sometimes cause I have terrible memory about the year thing, I still perfectly remember how old I was and what specific night of August it happened. I don’t care at this point if she has gone through an assault or multiples, if or not she has mental health issues, I just don’t care. Lying about this topic always damages so much the survivors’ community, we are already fighting so hard to being believed telling the truth. And the same thing about saying that you lied because you have a mental illness problem, it’s not a fricking excuse honey. It’s another damage to another community, the one that you’re supposedly doing everything for. And not knowing what “viral” means? Cut the bs, for real. We know you had great intentions to share this story, most of us fell for it too. You’ve been exploited by her like many others that tried to help her after sadly believing her lies. I want to thank you that you’ve been so quick about clearing the air about this all situation, you’ve done everything you could with what you knew, be kind to yourself ❤
I can’t “bother” to read and check my comment for errors, I’m already triggered enough. English isn’t my first language so I’m sorry if something isn’t clear.
U did excellent "homegirl"... (where I'm from "homegirl" is a slang term for a girl who is either your friend, acquaintance or in some situations on your chosen side in a debate, argument or conflict... U said English wasn't your first language so I figured I would explain in case u didn't know) I never would have known English wasn't your first language until u actually said it wasn't... And I'm so sorry u have had to deal with not only the nightmare of sexual assault, but also having to deal with people being skeptical of u because of pieces of shit like this Taylor bitch and I hope u find peace and contentment in your life ..
Missing dates is very common traumatic response. I know. I understand. I'm so sorry it happened to you... I want to believe that people who will use histories like these against victims are those who would have disregarded us anyway. Stay strong, I wish You nothing but the best ❤
Aw Lauren this is 1. Not your fault and 2. If anything showing good character from you giving a lot of grace to someone that may not deserve it. I’m sorry someone tried to use your platform like this ❤️ so many good vibes your way
Lauren, please don't be too hard on yourself for covering this story. The argument that victims don't owe explanations only works if they are actually a victim of what they have said, and haven't said any proven lies while doing so. No matter what year the tattoos or blackout took place, she has never explained why she said obscene things were tattooed on her face when they were absolutely not. She has literally documented the gradual process of her building up her face tattoos, likely regretting it, and blacking it out somewhat recently. She perpetuated the 2008 lie while no one challenged it, and the people around her also co-signed it, as they factually know she never went through it on this timeline. If it was a genuine mistake, they could have easily corrected her, unless everyone in her personal life also suffers from some sort of memory issue. Its just not true. They are either willing participants in her quest for money - the gofundme/free treatment stuff, or they are aware she is a fantasist, will never own up or are bored/used to it and don't bother to challenge her. Who knows how long she has been telling this story? What versions have implicated innocent people in wrongdoings they have potentially not even done? I am honestly trying to be neutral in my language but it is dangerous to make up these kinds of lies, and it very much does take away from real victims stories, and people's willingness to believe genuine claims similar to the ones she has fabricated. There could be silent victims of her lies, and I think it was a good thing the people who discovered her lies brought it to light. It is very easy to list off a bunch of diagnosis excuses, claim she was "only trying to do good" and then ditch the internet when the scam didn't pay off, citing focusing on herself etc instead of admitting she has been caught. She liked the attention while it was positive, and that was probably the driving factor in doing articles etc until people wanted verifiable details, just like how she was very complimentary about your video until you realised the story was false. There is no shame in wanting to believe people when they present stories like this, and I hope you are leaving the fault with her and not yourself. I'm sure she hasn't considered your lack of sleep and recovery from your recent procedure while dealing with this. I hope you are taking good care of yourself and catching up on your sleep!
I agree about the explanations thing. Sometimes you DO have to explain what happening, because the longer nothing is said the more likely people will jump to conclusions. And in turn, an innocent person can get hurt by such hasty conclusions.
Just for a bit of clarity. The term "Scratch" work, although now becoming a popular style, has typically been used to refer to unprofessional, poorly done work. Usually in someone's house. The people that do tattoos without the training or experience to know what they're doing are traditionally referred to as "scratchers". Mostly by those of us who work in the tattoo industry. At least inside the United States.
I'm sure others have said the same however: I have a literal uni degree in film production and cinematography, it is physically impossible to edit out her blackout tattoo into regular skin. It's impossible! It's easy to get rid of small face tattoos but NOT that amount. At all.
This woman just needs to get off social media and get herself straightened out. There’s no way anyone can believe anything she says now so there is no point for her to be public on social media any more. Except she is really enjoying being the main character, so she’s gonna ride this thing to hell.
@@Magickmelon fraud due to her lies causing donations to help her, since it was mostly done online the DA 100% could find a way to add wire fraud on top of general fraud, where she lives lying on SA is a crime which she did, there's more too but I don't feel like giving her more brain space than this
@@ayajade6683 Mental health is not an excuse, but it does impact many of these people whether you give a shit or not. And what she did was disgusting, but she still doesn’t deserve such hate. There are far worse people out there that actually should be in prison for life and they aren’t.
I can’t finish the video bc my assault anniversary is in a week and I’m already struggling. This is just too triggering at the moment. I just wanted to tell you that it’s not your fault. I’m really proud that would stand by someone you saw as a victim. Sadly this person betrayed that. It’s sad that the majority of people are being honest about their stories but because of the few who lie it makes it so much more difficult for everybody else. I hope she gets help and that she stops the lies.I hope that you can relax or come to peace or whatever that you didn’t do anything wrong here.
Please just take take to heal for yourself ❤ I am truly sorry your struggling with that anniversary coming up but you are a beautiful person and deserve happiness
Great coverage. This is the first video ive seen by you. You extensively covered all of your bases, found every bit of information you could, and stayed on it.
This is such a complex situation. I'm sorry that you got caught up in it, and I think you've done the best you can to deal with it cleanly. Well done. It's so sad to see someone who seemingly has such a fragile grip on reality, and to be aware that their actions in lying and misrepresenting are so very harmful, while also being aware that they may be unable to help it. It's quite possible that the versions of reality that she tells seem 100% true to her at the time. So compassion is warranted, and I would say try your hardest not to take it personally. At the same time, you can't allow the untruths to stand. I think you've done a good job dealing with a really difficult situation.
Her facial tattoos were ones she genuinely wanted and liked having, they werent a constant reminder of her trauma, like victim's scars and marks are
100% I have a whole sleeve I regret lol
i just recently found her on tiktok and thats her current story i believe, and i felt bad and even considered donating to her gofundme….
from the instagram post it looks like she took a tattoo gun to her own face during a manic episode, and she wouldn't be the first person to do that but its gross that she would make up such a horrible story for sympathy
Very much so. Mental health is not a shield against accountability and its disgusting to use it as such
Are you mentally ill yourself? I am and it doesn't stop me from accountability, yes, it's a reason for *some* understanding and leniency but this elaborate lie, disproven with clear evidence is disgusting and deserves shame and consequence.
@@cynicallemonade1792no I’m sorry. That’s not ableist. Try saying this load of bs to someone who’s been abused by someone with mental health issues. Having a manic episode and mental health problems during which you get face tattoos you regret… like that’s also a powerful story. It could have been used to educate artists and clients alike about signs of mania and how to tattoo more responsibly. Sure she may not have gotten go fund me money but… idk weird situation.
My exact thought tbh
Like if she'd been honest about getting bad tattoos during a manic episode, i think people still would have felt for her and tried to help her out!!
But she could've monetized the content and then make money off of it that way😭😭
Willing to bet she would file a lawsuit for not tattooing her.
She tattooed herself. So not really an issue with tattoo artists… but would’ve been a better apology.

And she doesn’t care AT ALL! The nerve to say she started that TikTok to help others.
yep. the people who don't want victims to have justice will hold onto any "evidence" that victims, especially female victims, are liars. every time someone does lie about something like this, it makes it worse for everyone who has been through SA.
Well now she claims the assault still happened but the tattooing "scratching" occurred later.. honestly it's the boy who cried wolf over & over again.. i can't trust any of her story anymore
People DO cry wolf and lie about this though. And holding people accountable for that isn’t NOT problematic. Lying about this IS.
So she blacked out her face, regretted it, made up a story that would gain her sympathy, started two separate Go Fund Me’s, got someone to help her for free, and then went viral and got called out for the lie. I mean, it is what it is.

"This is a picture of me from 2008." That was literally THE MOST 2008 photo Lauren could have shown us. Adorable❤
@Lindseyisloony a lot of SA stories sound unbelievable, that doesn't mean they are fake.
I mean... she cleary didnt do enough research.
It was “war paint,” she said, which White inked herself during a period of “mania” while working at a tattoo shop in an attempt to prove herself as an artist."
And based on her revision, the second assault (after her marriage) when she went into the woods with her "friends" was when she was forcibly tattooed.

They're also nicknamed kitchen Steves due to the conditions they're done in
Scratch work can also just mean a roughed out drawing in general. Like if I make a sketch to convey an idea for an art piece I could call it scratch work
I have scratch work unfortunately😅 I was so upset for years but now I just don’t care anymore lol

Don’t feel guilty. Learn to trust your intuition.

After all of this, I really hope her saying that she's in college for psychology is another lie.

That was my first thought too when I heard her story.
To be fair tattoo removal, among other things, isn't cheap... especially compared to someone "fixing it" for free
@@_HimToo True, but it would have been a better option than leaving the original tattoo or blacking out the entire forehead
I think the argument to back up that it was easier to get it blacked out is that all this supposedly had happened in 2008 and laser removal was not big back then and it cost a lot
Sure, except she could have sued the guy who did it to at least get the costs of removal back@@stephc1993

Taylor's actions actively hurt real victims of assault and the ability to have their voices and stories heard. What a disgusting thing for someone to do. Also, I was emotionally and mentally abused and have bipolar disorder and PTSD but it's not an excuse for me to not be held responsible for mistakes or actions I take just because there are negative consequences. Shame on her.
Yeah and blindly believing her not even convincing story at platforming her so she could do even more damage was irresponsible. I'm glad I'm not a subscriber to this channel after seeing so many people here toxicly telling her that it's totally ok that she shared this fake story that came to her without and damn evidence.

@@Lindseyisloonyyeah everyone knows what you think after you've commented this about ten thousand times. get a job or something.
@@LindseyisloonyTo be honest, does it really matter? She just shared something that was happening on TikTok. I don't think it is that important to go digging into someone's life for evidence. She was clear about what she knew and what she had researched. When she became aware of the truth, she took down her previous video, made this follow up to clarify the situation, making sure to rectify any mistakes she might have committed. It feels really icky to go digging for proof of someone's abuse and possible torture, so I don't judge her for taking this claims at face value, specially since she was clear about doing just that.
Whether her SA happened or not is none of our business (even if some people feel they’re owed an explanation now) but when you use that story to manipulate other survivors or kind-hearted people into giving you their sympathy and financial support, that’s when it becomes our business.

Hell, look at what ted bundy is convicted of vs his list of victims. Do you believe he actually ONLY killed 3 people or do you accept that he probably killed the dozens of other people that got him the label of serial killer?
Tbh, in a case where the person lied about getting brutalized, and has changed their story, you are allowed to just not believe them. You dont need to fart all over the place about how galaxy brain you are for only believing a crime happened if a conviction has also happened.
Literallyyyyy. Not that I could now trust ANYTHING coming out of her mouth again after all of this.
There’s a lot of ppl lying about mental illness and wanting attention for it, practically half the ppl on TikTok do that nowadays tbh

I love that she is in fact bringing awareness to mental health by showcasing the playbook of a narcissistic pathological liar
Tru
Damn, that’s cut throat. Legos hurt like hell. 😂
Ok the Lego insult got me dying over here
As someone who was in a extremely abusive relationship this makes me sick/angry.

My thoughts EXACTLY.
People like Taylor make it hard for survivors to speak up and receive the help and justice they deserve.
You know those uncanny valley ABBA concerts in London done with "AI"? It would look like that
There is an other incoherence that bothers me as someone who suffers from bipolar disorder (type 1)
At 45min in the video she said that she has bipolar type 2, but she also said a lot that the blackout tattoo happened during a mania episode.
@@LolaMoon05came to say just this... My doctor is still trying to determine if I am type 1 or 2 because of how my mania has been in the past...
@@LolaMoon05 bipolar 2 includes HYPOmania, not fully blown mania. hypomania is not as extreme as mania.
The title got me rethinking how willing i am to believe everything online 😅. Thanks for keeping us updated.

As a victim myself I appreciate you and you are wonderful. you used your platform like you always do. Sending you love and light Lauren
There’s another one from 7 hours ago. She’s totally misrepresenting what Lauren said.
Good job.
I think this is important: "Believe victims" has never meant "swallow every sad story ever told and never ask questions."
That phrase was meant for law enforcement and investigators.

Ha!

girl alright. i've got DID (also a dissociative disorder) which causes me to have amnesia. i also have CPTSD. it's so much different from having a 'bad memory', it's feeling like you know your life and reaching for proof only to come up with the wrong information or nothing at all. i can understand the fear and shame that comes with messing up times in your life to people. in the past, when i mistook timelines (& remembered after the fact or was called out) i doubled down, tried to make my story 'make sense' so i didn't seem stupid/wrong/forgetful, and it became a lie i felt i had to keep up. i used to tell so many lies about my life because i was ashamed of my amnesia & because i didn't know what was happening at the time, why i was forgetting so much, i didn't have the words for it and it was terrifying. now i know why it happens, why almost all of my life is missing/blurry. now, when i mistake timelines, events, memories, etc i admit it as soon as i realise. most people just think i'm extra forgetful, sometimes when it's smth unusual to forget people are weirded out, but overall it's easier being honest. it's better for my memory, too. it seems to me that taylor is deeply ashamed of her amnesia considering she didn't correct herself when this all began--and so far removed from reality that she thought it was ok to keep lying to thousands of people AND BENEFIT FROM IT. like yikes dude. i empathise with her but she caused a LOT of harm doing this, she has no excuse.

It's people like this that take credibility away from legitimate victims
kudos to you for keeping us updated. so sorry you went through this. love ya, Lauren 🤗
Wow. I can not believe the gall of this person. You defended her! She seems so disingenuous in her apology. I'm so sorry, love
I appreciate your compassionate outlook and still calling out the bs.
So crazy when people lie about these things and think no one would be able to prove them wrong.
This girl needs to take care of her mental health. She is clearly not OK.
I don't give two shits about her mental health excuse she deserves to be in jail on multiple charges.
@@ayajade6683what charges exactly ?
@@Magickmelon fraud due to her lies causing donations to help her, since it was mostly done online the DA 100% could find a way to add wire fraud on top of general fraud, where she lives lying on SA is a crime which she did, there's more too but I don't feel like giving her more brain space than this
@@ayajade6683 Mental health is not an excuse, but it does impact many of these people whether you give a shit or not. And what she did was disgusting, but she still doesn’t deserve such hate. There are far worse people out there that actually should be in prison for life and they aren’t.
@@Magickmelondidnt she raise money based on these lies? Should be charged for that I guess..
I’m so sorry my love. Take care of you 🫶🏻
Please just take take to heal for yourself ❤ I am truly sorry your struggling with that anniversary coming up but you are a beautiful person and deserve happiness
Hey hon, I hope you’re doing well 💜 I hope you’re able to practice self care
You are kinder than this world deserves. I appreciate your nuance and compassion with this situation. Keep up the fantastic journalistic work. ;)
