Rest in Peace Phil & Don Everly....Thank you for all the music and memories you both have given us!! A truly REMARKABLE and TREMENDOUS legacy you have left behind!! Both LOVED and MISSED!! Rock on in heaven brothers..............RIP..............
It's ALWAYS fun and entertaining watching the Everlys do anything. And interesting how Don seemed to be a little reserved and Phil was the more animated and energetic one on this performance.
Hey John & Paul wanted to be Don & Phil. Seriously, I heard Paul say in a documentary that when they started singing that one was Don & the other Phil. They were very much influenced by the Everlys, as was a lot of others, Simon & Garfunkel for one. That Muhlenberg County Ky harmonizing went around. Even though they didn't grow up there, they were taught by and lived in the household with someone who did - their very talented father, Mr Ike Everly one of the best guitar players to ever pick up a guitar.
Hahahaaa..@2:27...when Phil says, “I don’t know how CBS ever let us go...”....this was clearly in reference to what transpired one year earlier when the network cancelled the wildly popular, “Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour”...the Everlys had also appeared on THAT program just months before its cancellation....of course, The Dean Martin Show was broadcast on their rival network, NBC....
I didn't know the Everly Brothers on The Dean Martin Show? Or on any of these shows! I just thought they sang music from the 1960s only started searching since Dons passing on Aug 21, 2021 May they all ( RIP) Amen!🥀💒⛪⛪⛪🌈💐🎶🎵🎼🎙😎🎸😎🎸🕺🏼🕺🏼🕴🏻
Ok so I noticed their looks are appealing but did you notice how they sang in sync with one another vocally and they played their guitar strings in sync with one another ,talk about perseverance, t practice practice .makes for well you know you just said the word ,for it is in the end of your tongue 👅 Have you all heard of Dream Dream is one of my favorite son gs of theirs!
Dean Martin - I know. Ernest Borgnine - I know. The Everlys - I know. But... can anyone tell me who the other two performers were who join in for the Yankee Doodle dandy part at the end of the video?
DON EVERLY WITH HIS FUNNY BEATLE LOOKS ! I PREFER HIS FORMER R&R HAIRSTYLE ACTUALLY ...ANYWAY THEIR PERFORMANCES OF MAMMA TRIED IS FABULOUS ! VERY SAD BOTH TREE OF THEM HAS DIED NOW 😢...
Simple. It was a job. Paid the rent. By the mid-60s, their chart hits had pretty much dried up. They relied on summer tours in the US, TV shows, and tours in the UK and Europe for income.
Carole Pearson He actually wasn't. it was a role he played like Foster Brooks. it was unfortunate that people thought that it was humorous to pretend to be an alcoholic though.
R. Minerva - strange that one would want to pretend to be a drunk. He admitted himself he was an alcoholic. You think he was acting in this sketch? but looking at this sketch and watching the brothers reactions, at certain times, Makes me disagree that he hadn’t had a few jars in this video. I don’t suppose it really matters one way or the other! Just an observation
Carole Pearson I read that he played it up because that was his "character" in the brat pack days. Whatever the case, times have changed. I was here for the Everly Brothers, not Dean Martin anyway.

Everlys’ performance like this is so rare! They were so cute n enjoyed themselves. Look at Don’s face ! (6:15-6:25) I love it! Priceless!!
Wow what can i say except love the Everly Brothers!
love all the Everly brothers videos and photos and songs..
I like any show with the Everly boys
Don's little dances is painfully adorable.
The Everly Bros playing the part of the Smothers Bros - very well done!
that was delightful and unexpected
Great track, Mama Tried. I love it when they sing something from the country rock era.
I miss Dean and Phil...Don, please take care of yourself.

You just described them. Don was quiet; reserved; more serious. Philip animated; fun-loving; loved to laugh, cut up; joke and kid around.
The Everlys are the gold standard of popular music.

I love watching these guys whatever their age they were great right up to the end
I wish I could see a whole show.
Best vocal duo ever!!!!!....better than Jonh & Paul of the Beattles!!!
What an odd comparison. These guys are brothers.

I love Phil's suit.
Definitely snazzy. Of course he looked awfully good in anything.
Miluju tyhle bratry celý svůj život!!!

Oh yeah, true :D
And The Everly Brothers Show was on ABC
That was Alan Sues of Laugh-In doing the Elvis impersonation. I love how he always got very into the comedic parts he played.
Glorious!

True Greats!
Don is really good looking here!
I was thinking the same thing about adorable Phil.
Don’s look in this video is so 1970s!!
@@cak8132 yes - wide colorful ties were in.
They're both good looking & great performers.
Phil Everley side ways smile makes me have butterflies in my stomach

Bless your heart Rosa!

Great version of classic song
Brilliant
NICE
that last medley: AWKWARD!!
This is gold!
Sort of horrible and hilarious at the same time. But they actually looked like they were having fun, which is nice.
Oh believe it, they were!
Me too.
50 million records by 1970? Wow.
Phil spricht schon so schön😊
I read Phil met his second wife at this show!
Dean Martin - I know.
Ernest Borgnine - I know.
The Everlys - I know.
But... can anyone tell me who the other two performers were who join in for the Yankee Doodle dandy part at the end of the video?
Don and Phil were good sports to do this show. Some of it (especially the last group bit) was really cringe-worthy.
And getting compared to the Smothers Brothers gets old real quick.
Throwing Dean into their duo sounds pretty bad.
DON EVERLY WITH HIS FUNNY BEATLE LOOKS ! I PREFER HIS FORMER R&R HAIRSTYLE ACTUALLY ...ANYWAY THEIR PERFORMANCES OF MAMMA TRIED IS FABULOUS ! VERY SAD BOTH TREE OF THEM HAS DIED NOW 😢...

Love The Everly Brothers but nobody can sing a Haggard song but Merle.
I think Phil looks more handsome than Don!!! ❤️
They’re both gorgeous.
They were funny but the Elvis impersonation was terrible
It's supposed to be. Alan Sues just doing his Laugh-In schtick.
Oh man.... these shows were so cheesy. I never heard a more cheesy version of Bye Bye Love

@@cak8132 yes, I suppose you're right. I have a lifelong bitterness about how Rock'nRoll failed after all to overthrow all that horrible crap.
Looked they were having fun. Everything doesn't have to be serious.
Shame that Dean Martin was often drunk. Embarrassing nowadays
Carole Pearson He actually wasn't. it was a role he played like Foster Brooks. it was unfortunate that people thought that it was humorous to pretend to be an alcoholic though.

R. Minerva - I never knew that. Thank you for sharing
He wasn't actually drunk
It was a part he played.
