We just bought a 2011 Honda Civic with cash. I think I'm going to go on Facebook and post a photo of it with the caption, "we are blessed."😊
@stacymontero6172 Good for you! 😅..And you Are indeed blessed, especially with a great sense of values and a thankful heart. Who wouldn’t be slightly envious of that? Great role models!
Haha should! “We are blessed because paid for with actual cash, no being slave to the lender!”
Love it! ❤
I wish half of the people in the country was regularly watching the Dave Ramsey show, and
then our country would be in so much better shape, financially!
I think that every time he tells us to share their show. I’m like if more people are tuning in, more people are learning the tried and true way to build wealth from $0 that is easy and practical for ANYONE. And the less debt we carry as consumers the less stressed and happier we all will be!! FINANCIAL PEACE 🥰
@@alycat9186 Our politicians desperately need to listen to this show LOL
I wish congress was
Actually... if half the country followed Dave's advice our GDP production would decrease significantly and so would international trade/imports into the US because Americans would not consume nearly as much as they do now
so many healthcare workers with 6 figure debts have called in the last couple weeks trying to coast thru their debt. then here comes lana with similar income paying off the debt in 18 months.
congrats lana! 🎉
Rachel’s reaction is a perfect reaction for father/daughter relationship
Rachel's reaction when Dave goes on a rant 😬😆
Time stamp 😅
Funniest thing ever
Eh she's used to it.

Her little laugh is cute
“Run everything separate while you’re ROOMATES!” 😂
I thought it was a stupid and childish comment as well
@@ryanp2182 Not is the really of not legal commitment.
Don't know why that's so funny. You only have to learn that lesson once.
Lana's debt free scream was outstanding ❤❤❤ congratulations Lana!! So proud of you 🎉
I can't stop binge watching the show. I made a budget excel and paid off one card this pay period. It feels so good. Almost addictive. 🤣
Love debt free screams!! The stories just help keep us powering through out debt. Only 13k to go until freedom!
My fav part is the DEBT FREE SCREAM!!! So touching, always brings tears to my eyes!!!
I love hearing Rachel’s little laugh in the mic when Dave starts to go on the rant 😂😂😂❤
Lana - debt free scream of $173k - so inspiring!!!
I didn't hear it, but I agree that they're inspiring.
We stopped by Ramsey Solutions last summer. Great experience. I highly recommend it. We met Dave and Ken Coleman, got autographs, cookies, and had a great time watching the show.
You know someone was holding George back the moment that woman mentioned wanting a hobby horse farm 😂🐴
I’m glad Dave clarified why the gentleman needed to do the renovations AFTER the kids left. It didn’t click to me that they would get too comfy in the new, more spacious home 😂
I do I agree with Dave buying a house without being married it’s STUPID
Why?
@@martinramirezmi5457 can you provide any reason why it's a good idea?
Never put yourself on someone else's dept without being married and then these days I have learned marriage isn't always a marriage, so there is that. Only Godly marriages work.
I LOVE Dave BLUNT, HONEST AND DIRECT response to people. We need this kind of WAKE UP call ! Thank you Dave.
"I need horses to buy and sell to be happy" is the fastest way to go broke. I have seen sooo many people go broke chasing that "dream". 🎠

“WHY ARE YOU WAITING A YEAR TO GET MARRIED??” 😂
Love Dave😂
Right especially because he was 50 yrs old.
He tells it like it is. I’m surprised people call in with certain questions which they should know the answer to if they watch the show. He gives Great advice. It’s not easy maintaining no debt year in year out.
It’s staged
@@msmong123it’s not

Don't move in. I agree with Dave. Or get married now and in a year have a second wedding and invite all of your friends, etc.
But wouldn’t you want to get to know that person. Living with someone vs spending time with them 2-3 times per week can be different. I would want to make sure I’m compatible and can actually live with that person before committing to a marriage
@@estebanperalta8880 marriage vows say for better or worse. Any marriage has its ups and downs but folks ride through the tough times because of their vows. Or live together as roommates buy don't complicate the arrangement by playing house and having sex. As a female it isn't fun to become pregnant without being married. And definitely keep your finances separate. In the old days folks married without living together first and their marriages lasted.
@@lyndahammel9502 in the culture I grew up in you would be shunned for living together outside of marriage, and there's almost no divorce.
People don't realize how brainwashed they are by society we live in. They think you need to have sex with ten different people before finally agreeing to "settle down" by living with someone in your 30s, and live like that for 5-7 years before marrying. It's dysfunctional, just look at the results. Stepkids, "brady bunch families," divorces and remarriages.
According to a study Dave read, people who lived together before marriage are much more likely to get divorced. Is cohabitating difficult? Yes, but knowing that you can "leave any moment" takes away a lot of the willingness to put some effort into resolving issues
@@estebanperalta8880 1) they call themselves engaged though, and 2) there's no evidence that living together prior to marriage increases the likelihood of the marriage surviving.
1:14:31 Lana’s
Jump at the end of her debt free scream made me tear up! Way to go!!
He is testing the waters- Thank you Papa Dave. She'll need a place to go back to.
The way Dave yelled about the horse trainer I couldn’t stop laughing 😂 and rewatched that part against Oh bullcrap, Rachel you’re not a horse trainer and laughs quietly as Dave gets fired up! Absolutely the best part of that Episode. The debit free scream was phenomenal too! She’s so inspiring as I’m dashing trying to earn more to get out of debit!
Horses are a great way to go broke
@@Nigriff most forms of transportation are. boats, cars, planes, horses...😂
@@terpsurfer7221I have worked in the horse industry for 27 years. I've never had a client use one for "transportation"... unless you're Amish. People stopped using horses for transportation in The US a couple generations ago. That being said, buying a boat, plane, or car is another way people often go broke 😂
Leave a time stamp...I love rewatching favorite rants. 😂
I couldn’t agree more. That call was great. Sorry, Nicholas, but that made my day.
I'm so in debt with school loans that I could attempt to wait 10 years to get PSLF as I work for the state. Stories like this make me feel I can pay it off in less. I'm 67 and am attempting to promote and be smart as life is so short. Thank you Lana for your inspiring story.
You’re 67 with school loans?!?!?
@@oggyoggy1299 3.5 million Senior citizens age 60 or older owe more than $125 BILLION in student loans, both for themselves and for their kids. It's a retirement stealer as the loans cannot be discharged, even in bankruptcy. And getting loans forgiven by PSLF is very difficult unless every detail is doing correctly, even if people work for the state or other organizations that qualify. Parents, listen up - NEVER sign for student loans for your children. Fewer than 50% of students who start college finish in 6 years or less and you will be on the hook. They can borrow for their education; you cannot borrow for your retirement. There are lots of ways to do college less expensively and if you don't have the funds, your children should choose those.

As I listened to you and Rachel describing her book, the phrase "Life is Good" came to mind. It struck me as a good name for a next book, where you talk about life challenges and any potentially negative experiences from a position of optimism, understanding and strength. For example, negative emotions inform us that there is a problem to resolve, or that overcoming challenges builds self-confidence, etc.. Just a thought.
I appreciate this show very much, thank you Dave and all your co-hosts for sharing your wisdom.
The military family brings home 11K with no debt . They should be able to save alot more than 2300 if there not living like congress
@DenisFleshman stop spamming
It’s so funny when Rachel and Dave are on together. Rachel is always trying to give people grace and Dave is just no allowances given. 😂😂😂❤
“Don’t smirk, you’re not a horse guy” hahahaha Rachel is the only one that talks to Dave like that
That Lana PA is amazing! Such an inspiring young lady... I could have not worked two full-time jobs myself, especially in the ER throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.
Love the honesty.
To the pharmacist mom who was featured around the 1 hour mark: I get you. My husband and I had graduate degrees in health care. This what we did: 1. Make financial choices as if you only lived on one income, 2) pay off all student loans as soon as possible. Then consider dropping to part-time or per diem. It won’t take long to pay off your debt at the income you make. We did it and you can too! And now I’ve been homeschooling for 10 years. And the only reason why I have maintain my pharmacist license is as an insurance in case I need to go back to work full time. Mr. Ramsey was not helpful to you, I have to say. Like you, I also wished someone would have told me I would enjoy staying home with the kids more than making money and being stressed out. In the pharmacy, the buck stopped with me. I would also recommend that your husband get a job that pays more. He could study more or get a new job while you pay off your school debt.
Great job Lana!! 🎉 That was a warrior call! . ❤
Lana got to go back to her parents house while paying off debt, thats a huge help
Informative and Educational!!!
I work in a hospital during the pandemic and yes it was very very slow. People were afraid of catching covid in the ER.
Way to go, Lana! What an inspiration you are!
Wow $400,000 for Pharm Med!!! My son has 2 years left in medical school and his total school loan will be $120,000
Apparently, it’s an expensive pharmacy school and your sons is a less expensive school.
I loved this great episode. Dave and Rachel great as always
Great show
Hilarious. Dave and Rachel. ❤❤❤❤❤. I enjoyed this epsidoes.
I have three acres and it is constant work maintaining the house and land. I never imagined how hard it would be to mow three acres.
For the pharmacy call, I totally understand not wanting to run a clinic. I agree with Rachel’s answer. I am a nurse who decided against a pharmD degree (was accepted to a program) bc of addl stress and super high school cost. Work life balance is so important. This mom/career woman could always upgrade to the practitioner role later in life when kids older if she wants. Great call, many people don’t realize that pharmacy programs are so expensive and the responsibility attached . If the caller is reading this God bless! ❤
Can always count on Uncle Dave to make me laugh out loud!! 😂 love dad and daughter shows 🙌
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
In general, I agree with Dave about kids leaving the nest. But, I also think there are situations where adult kids coming home for a season can be beneficial. After my divorce, I lived my my parents for a couple years. It helped me regain my footing and emotionally heal from the trauma of my ex husband.
I love when Dave hits the hang up button.
Great show ❤
🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Dave really wants to go in on that 1st caller about shacking up vs. just getting married. 😂
It was really appalling to me. That guy has so much going for him and Dave just put him down.
@@jacksoncook7450He’s too old to be playing house.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
@@kay22100 there’s far worse things in the world you can do than play house for a year. People nowadays skip marriage all together and sleep around or just “play house” forever.
@@jacksoncook7450thank you 😃 he ripped me a new one, even though we are doing great for ourselves and will be married next year 😂
Dave is lol. I love how Rachel is giggling and laughing at her dad. I bet she has heard all this things her dad is saying to the guy about the horse. I loved that part
If someone proposed to me right now, I would want to wait until next spring to get married for sure! Wouldn’t want to rush it for this spring (not to mention having to save for it) and wouldn’t want to have a fall/winter wedding. I don’t see the issue.
It's because she's moving in so it's basically the same minus the legal paper work
We don't know how old she is but it sounds like a later in life thing so throwing a mega wedding seems a bit silly.
I have been on Baby step 5-6 for 6 years. Have a mere 20k in collage fund. Not heard many people say they are stuck at this step.
1:36:00 lowest price for one ticket to the TTMM weekend is $199. Add $179 if you want to eat lunch with Dave. Again, that's for ONE person. That doesn't include travel and hotel. I hope they're not advocating for people in BS 1-3 coming. Although, Dave said they'd help get people on track with getting out of debt. Ouch!
RACHEL HAS BEAUTIFUL EYES JUST LIKE HER DAD.
The requirement for pharmacists and physical therapists to now require doctorates without a commensurate increase in pay is one of the more cunning ploys the educational industry has pulled off in recent years.
100% agree as a new grad pharmacist.
They have changed Nurse Practitioner to a Doctorate as well. I wonder if nurses can see an increase in salaries coming out as new grads
@heatherdoeur114 agreed. Though I don't know if the expense of the overall program is the same. From what I have seen, many DNP programs are less structured and often selfpaced, where as the pharmD and dPT programs often require you to stay within your cohort or progress at a specific rate.
DNPs to my knowledge are not making more than FNPs with Masters degrees. Hospitals or clinics may seek to hire DNPs above FNPs, but I don't think the pay is materially different.
This is based on my knowledge as an RN, however I am active duty, not civilian.
@@heatherdoeur114 : I was wondering why a ghetto Medicaid-type of clinic I sometimes go to recently changed its main "provider" from a PA to an NP. I thought it was a downgrade. But maybe I have it backwards? Both are able to prescribe meds, order labs and write referrals which are approved and paid by Medicare.
Staying at home in retirement is very overrated. I retired. I still work but I do choose jobs that allow me to choose my schedule.
Dave endorses refi student loans but not a home if you reinvest.?
Love the intro
25:15 I wish Dave would take into account taxes being deducted from people's paychecks! You'd think he'd remember that happens, as much as he complains about his own taxes. Levi in Phoenix grosses 130k. If he makes another 24k in OT, that's 154k gross, which is roughly 108k net. If he takes 34k from savings to throw at his 400k in student loans, that leaves 366k. If Levi lives on Dave's suggested 35k per year, he has 73k to put towards the debt. Not including interest accruing or pay raises, that would be a 5 year student loan payoff journey, not the 3 years Dave claims. Of course, 5 years to be debt free is far better than taking 10, but Dave's math boggles my mind.
1:01:13 Powerful statement. Getting a PharmD only to realize that motherhood was the preferred gig.
Where’s Jade? My favorite cohost
thankfully at home
She was hosting the budgeting webinar with George this morning.
Love jade
2nd caller: Husband being a stay at home dad is out of order unless it is absolutely necessary. Switching roles is going to put a strain on their marriage
yeah I could never be okay with that
19:38 Rachel said what I was wondering about regarding Kylie in Augusta, GA. Is staying at home with a six year old after retiring from the military what HE (her husband) wants? Kylie said it's what SHE wants, but didn't really say if that's what her husband wants. I would hope they've discussed it. It's really sweet that she wants to "give him a break," but only if that's what he views as a break.
Maybe she's the one looking for a break from being a stay-at-home mom 😅
@@ThePolypam ha, ha! I was a sahm until my boys were in school all day. Then I went to work for the school district so I'd be home when they were. My husband says we'll never be empty nesters, but we are content.
Paid off 183 grand in 18 months...She got outta debt in that short amount of time, yet you have all these young people who can barely muster the energy to get off the couch and go get their own fast food. If they invested as much time into improving themselves as they do crying on tiktok, they would all be out of debt.

Since he's not willing to put a ring on it let her be in her own place and in her own space and maybe someone else will come along
Lol I'm sure getting those sweet compliments from Dave felt nearlyyyy as good as getting out of the debt did for Lana. 😂
Rachel's couldn't wrap her head around the PA Lanna story about working 2 FT jobs to be debt free. Thinking to herself, thanks Dad.
Love love love Dave asking the upfront questions....your 50 playing house. Lol!
Did anyone do their career assessment and did it help you with finding your direction? I hit the point where I'm just feeling lost, don't enjoy my work anymore which is reflecting on my income big time (self employed) but I feel like I'm too old to start over. Even worse, I don't even know what I'd wanna do at 46. 😔
You are NOT old! Find your passion and define your why. Have a few journal writing dates with you and figure out how to extricate yourself from this rut you're in. (Happens to a lot of folks!) You've got this! ❤

Dave has mastered the art of dissing on people in the most loving and respectful way possible. 😅
That's funny so many of you have mastered the art of trying to deter taking responsibility for your actions and instead choose to pretend to be victims as if Dave hasn't you know somehow wounded your inner child. Look it's not about dissing or insulting someone. It is about bringing to attention the mistakes one has made finding out why that person has made it so that that person can truly understand the mistake and learn from it learn to not repeat it again
That is the main core of growing up from a child to an adult
Horses are so freaking expensive and the chance that you would make any money on training horses and selling them is slim. If you expert people surrounding you showing you all the ways to go and what breeds to buy and how to do it. You’re still lucky to make any money they just suck up so much money, it’s like if you want to do it yes but if you think you’re gonna make money, I don’t know
As a TSP participant, you can borrow up to half……not recommended tho
Horse trainers today contract with all the costs and have open credit cards that they bill in the first of the month. They don't wait for people to pay

The P.A. that did the debt free scream is probably the only person that thinks student loan defferment is a good thing that will ever be on that stage.
For the good or the bad, at least she was responsible and took advantage of it to pay off her loans instead of going on vacations or buying a new tesla, just as she said! I know people who took advantage of it to live above their means.
If I turn on the Ramsey show and do NOT see Jade or Dr feelgood. Then I'm definitely watching.
I would like to see Robert K. (Rich Dad Poor Dad) and Dave Ramsey in a 2-hour debate; in front of a live audience that can ask questions.
