He speaks their language. When we stand up, unafraid, unashamed and tell others our story like Mr. Deford individuals tend to relate and understand. Leading to what made the difference? Allowing for those that believe to share that when we attempt to make change on our own we fall hard and keep messing up. The answer is Jesus and when we put our trust in him our old man and ways might not disappear right away but when it's all left in Jesus's hands old thing and ways become new.

My favorite thing about this video is that he's not talking down at them or to them, he's talking with them.
These kids are responding, engaging, and instead of shutting them down he responds to them with a statement, or a joke, and involves who he's speaking with.
So many people turn to acting out when they aren't heard, and I think Jelly understands that. He's there to pass along a story and a message that might stick, but he's also there to give these kids a chance to be heard by someone who understands them.
First heard of Jelly when he was speaking in Congress about the dangers of fentanyl and literally everything I have seen has done nothing but increase my respect for him.

I was a young thug too, who turned into an Old Thug serving a 420-month federal prison sentence with 5-years of supervised release. On March 8, 2024, I completed everything and am now a productive member of society. I love what Jelly Roll does to help others! Our youth is our future. Some of these youngsters may fail, but my prayer is that more will allow Jelly Roll's testimony as the catalyst to change their lives.

Thanks jelly. I wish someone like you woulda come chat to me when I did my time in juvenile. Even tho those times hardened me up and made me tougher, I will never get back the kid I was. The dreamer was lost forever. It’s our job to teach these kids there is a better way forward and set the example. Hopefully they don’t go through what we went through. I rather them make dreams come true.

Jelly Roll speaking the truth to these young men. I pray that at least 1 of them listened to his testimony and changed their path for the better. This man didn't have to take time out of his busy schedule to do this. I appreciate Mr. Jelly Roll for his loyalty and love for kids and change. I learned about him from my son, who listens to his music. What an inspiration keep up the great work sir.

Letting these young people know that someone understands, that someone has been in their shoes is huge. They are not alone. They have more than just bad choices to make. They have hope. I'm so impressed with Jelly Roll. He never forgets where he came from. What a kind and caring person. Wow. God bless all those who are in jails and prisons and institutions and God bless the people who are helping them to better themselves. There is a lot of pain there. I pray for peace for them all.

Jelly Roll! Thank you, brother, for the time you give for the juveniles. I used to work at MVYDC in TN. Thank you because I did what you did for the juveniles. It's just in a different way. Gave them something to work with and then pulled them off the units to play ball with them. Again, thank you.

Listening ro Jelly, feels like I'm watching my husband. My husband has the same past and future. My husband, while in prison had to learn how to regrow up from the age of 9, when his first trauma. My husband's mom turned him in, because she knew him or someone would be dead. My husband said it was the best thing his mom did for him. He's been clean now for 42 years and he has no problem talking to anyone about it. It'd be cool if my husband got with Jelly, they both have this gift to draw kids and adults into his teachings. I always wish my husband would travel to schools. Love you Jelly for who you are and what you stand for.

Thank you Jelly for speaking for Indiana youth, I never went through any of this and am thankful for great parents and love. I respect and understand all these kids, I didn't do the walk but man can I do the talk. I've done some things I'm not proud of but my brother was in and out of facilities all his life. I understand the love these kids need and want to teach kids in NEED of history and fall in love with something. I am thankful for your speech and want to follow in your footsteps of teaching kids PASSION. These kids have much more love and endeavors than a regular kid just not set up for success. I want to make that change take their mind off of the bad and set them in a direction where education and love can make their life complete. READING can help, history or not it's just wanting to show them my passions and hopefully, it brings their passion to light. God Bless.

      Fair enough.
Have you ever heard ANY of his songs?
We all listen to different music, and we all feel our own way.
I am not articulate. Maybe 7:21 you tried his music, but you didn't care for it. I totally get it, but I encourage you to listen to a few of his songs.
SAVE ME spoke to me, but definitely wouldn't for everyone.
      I am speaking respectfully.
Maybe someone in your life might need it.
