I skate at that park all the time and the fact that you're taking an "uncomfortable" trick to all those obstacles is inspiring. I feel good about my kickflips and am scared to try it up that small curb. I'll give it a shot today! Thanks for the inspo, Maurio.
Mario this is the guy in NewAlbany that had the little girl with him. Me and the guys will be at the Salem skatepark/DIY around 5 this evening. U guys should come sk8!!!!!!!!!
Great to see you back, Maurio! You've inspired me to work on my heelflips today. And congratulations on the (well-deserved) shoes--excited to see what they do with their skateboard line.
For me the biggest thing has been paying attention to flicking slightly ‘downwards’ (more towards the ground, rather than straight through the nose). Pulling up my back foot a little higher right before the catch, somewhat overexaggerating it, fixed the leaning-back-thing. Enjoy your upcoming trip!
My skatepark OG always told me if you do heel flips like kick flips you’ll have good kick flips but if you do kick flips with the delay flick of a heel flip you’ll do them both well
Hyped to see you post! Like always love the content, but want to thank you for creating the best shape ever! I have skated 5 so far and I’m absolutely in love with it. Best deck shape out by far
I recently found out, my heelflips flick better if a put more weight on the front foot. Like 60% front foot, 40% on the back foot. But my stance is way different as yours. For Kickflips and Heelflips my front foot have the same angle, the front foot is just placed on a different edge. I hope that made sense. 😅
I’m terrible at kick flips - learned heel flips first and I do that more than anything. I find it easier with front foot toes hanging slightly off pointed at the nose & late flicking feel more comfortable.
Study Neen. Watching his method improved my heel flips. Don't hang your toes. Honestly it takes more effort to get the flick, but that extra effort gives you a more controlled flip.
Congratulations with the shoe-contract Maurio, fully deserved. Regarding the Heelflip, you mention flicking them and comparing them to a kickflip. I feel like i don't flick as much as when i do a kickflip, it's a bit more like a crooked ollie north.
@@maurcoyYeah this makes sense to me. Maybe put more of your foot on the board and focus on flipping with the “ollie hole” part of your shoe? Neen has a great video “how to land the best heelflip …” where he shows how his sneaker connects. He keeps his foot in a typical ollie position which helps bone out the board more.
I hate heelflips but what helps me is to try to stay on top of the board, not move forward or back, just stay on the same place you popped the trick and try not to put so much effort on the kick since it will make them go rocket. I learn this from a friend that never misses heelflips but his heelflips are not big, they are just perfect and quick, I was trying to make them go knee high and ended up many times with credit card my ass off (and once in my nuts... no fun in that and why I hate them).
I have the same struggle with heelflips. Been working on them for years and they are still hit and miss but recently I watched a Pat Channita(Tremendous Heelflipper) part and saw that he seems to push back his back foot on the pop, almost getting a scissor kick motion with his feet, front foot going in front back foot going behind. When I tried that my flick got a ton more consistent. Idk if that will help anyone but worst comes to worst you might watch some Pat Channita footage so it will still be a good day haha!
Thanks for showing your progression. It's funny to think you've got "something to work on" when it comes to a "basic" trick. The speed of your progression though.. that's why you're pro.
since your doing them with your toes quite far off i can recommend trying to flick more straight to the nose, i think that gives a little bit more friction on the ollie part and flicks it way more into your backfoot for a non wiggly catch
I'd prob move ur front foot up toward the nose a little more while maintaining a balanced 50-50 ratio weight displacement between both feet. Pop, pull up (like an ollie), and flick almost straight off the nose
I feel like there are people that can heel flip but so very few can make it look good. Ut i feel like the heel flip still has some evolution as to how people well heel to the flip
Haha not at all, my heel flips actually aren’t the best. Hoping I was able to make them a lil more enjoyable to watch but I’ll let yall be the judges haha
After your first try that was kinda rocket, I was like “oh maybe he’s mortal after all!”…and then all your “bad” attempts were still floatier than most peoples every trick 😂
I used to do heel flips and tally mark them down with my homie. Now I’m blessed every time I get a rare heel flip. I can only really do them fakie now which is weird as fuck.😂
I’m weird I heel flip like I kick flipping but off the other side. I can’t hang my toes of the board. Every time I do my Ollie suffers. So my set up is like a slightly choked up Ollie and the board flips off the tope of my toe box. I’m weird! Stoked that you locked in a shoe sponsor. I hope they make a more affordable skate shoe. I think the best part of being pro would be, being able to see other people rocking your shoes at the park.
Seems like you got the hang of them. I say another tip for heelflips would be sliding up with your toe and flicking out using your toe instead of your heel
Try not to hang your foot off of the board just line your tip of your shoe to the very edge of the board and flick with more of the foot like a kickflip. Imo you only hang your foot off for tricks like variel heels, Lazers, and big heels where the board actually rolls off your heel. Try the same for inwards and half cab heels and you'll notice they pop higher not hanging your foot off.
You have very nice heelflips. But since you said they are not good for you then try putting your toe inside the bord and use the toe to flip the board. Thats how i learned it.
Hellflips always been my go too now kickflips I look like a 8 year old trying there first one😂 Also can’t really suggest much to a pro but try moving your front back a pinch you might not be ahead of the deck so much no also off stuff like bumps or even skating slants my front foot is very close to the bolts🤷♂️
The sheoes look simple yet good, the name of the brand sounds very experimental. It will surely take a plenty of time and money to bring this brand into skateboarding industry, they better have technology, design experts and good cooperation with their team to make the brand work. Now it just seems as throwing money into something very questionable.
I’m glad you’re not the only one who thinks skate shoes are uncomfortable. Goddamn they are very uncomfortable!!! Props to this new brand. Change is good, good luck homie, thanks for the update!
No hate but I would never pay $300 for a skate shoe. I wouldnt pay over a $100 . They look dope though and if they are treating and paying you well thats dope. They need to be $100 range if they want to be competitive. But congrats man
Sole tech literally had 3 soles for 20 different soles.. heel flips ain’t heelflippin 😅 pimpin is pimpin stop cappin🧢 the ones over the hubba were clean 🧼
ur shoulders are too squared off also slightly point your front foot to the left so have it at a slight angle to really just get that heel to flick instead of everything else sliding against the grip on the way up to the heel flick !
Soletech just got sold to a snowboard company idk if Es is even gonna be around soon it’s hard to tell looking at the website they are just selling off what’s left of the inventory; it’s almost nothing left on the website

Mario getting that pay bump 👍 congrats on the new contract. Also your heel flips are legit
Thank you!!
Am sittin here thinking why’s he complaining his heelflips look sick haha I just wish I could land a heelflip haha
Maurio fooly
I wish my heel flips sucked like you think your’s do. 😂
Top skating sir. 👏👏👏👏
Both you and Tom have completely opened my eyes to a better understanding of skating. It’s dope.
Props to Santa Cruz
Man these videos are really motivating. Thanks for the insight and that one over the hubba was great
Mario this is the guy in NewAlbany that had the little girl with him. Me and the guys will be at the Salem skatepark/DIY around 5 this evening. U guys should come sk8!!!!!!!!!
more videos please! Also going to buy that same board today!
Thanks for the support!
Super stoked for you and the shoe deal! Also was so sick seeing you back at Jackalope a couple weeks ago. Seeing you skate in person is wild
Well deserved!!!! I will be getting any and every pair my guy!
Great to see you back, Maurio! You've inspired me to work on my heelflips today. And congratulations on the (well-deserved) shoes--excited to see what they do with their skateboard line.
So sick! btw i love this "why your trick aint trick'n" series
eS was the first brand in my eyes that really set the standard for skate shoes, these have a high bar to meet
love to see you out there learning, practicing just like we all do, we all need to learn something from this man!
Skating is nothing but learning and maintaining for us all no matter what point someone is in their progression!

Well, well, well... Look who's come crawling back. I have. Good to see you on here again
It’s good to be back. Thanks for watching!
6:44 But the last heel flip on that euro gap looked really good bro the back foot caught it so nicely looked bolts too
Soooo good! Can’t wait to get back on board and start heelflipping shit again
You got a really good one brother! Killing it Maurio ❤
Congratulations on the new contract!
Your my favorite skater man!! CONGRATS!!!
Thank you!
Congrats, wish you the best.
Loving the skating and shoe looks sick 🔥 much love from SA🇿🇦

Etnies Joslins are my favorite and the most comfortable shoe ever lol both the cupsole and the vulc
I swear everytime I see someone wearing those they typically live and die by that shoe! Haha Shoutout Joslin he’s the man!
I’m terrible at kick flips - learned heel flips first and I do that more than anything.

🗣️🗣️🔥 THE GOAT IS BACK!!!
What ricta clouds duro do you prefer?

Thank you 🙏🏾 damn that’s actually some good advice. I love hearing little tricks like that. I’m gonna try it next time I’m out skating!

@@davefreeburg7346 Yes, Neen is one of the best to do it.
Im trying to figure out how to not rocket my heelflips. I just avoid them mostly and just try to have them good enough to not get a letter in skate.

Thought those first few were switch from the body posture. /// congrats on the shoe deal my guy!!

I do heel flips like switch heels. Switch and nollie heel flips seems more easy and effortless for me though
Heel flip was looking money by the end. I’m 44 and trying to get a kick flip by 45. I’ll take any tips haha
I'd prob move ur front foot up toward the nose a little more while maintaining a balanced 50-50 ratio weight displacement between both feet. Pop, pull up (like an ollie), and flick almost straight off the nose

His back !
Hair, beard and skin looking good bro
This is my favorite comment 😂😂 thank you! 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽
Those are styling bro!
Have yet to watch, but coming from the homie with the sickest kickflips in the game. This seems click-bait-ie.
Ha!
Love yo.
Sk8 str8!
Haha not at all, my heel flips actually aren’t the best. Hoping I was able to make them a lil more enjoyable to watch but I’ll let yall be the judges haha
@@maurcoy Then DO A KICKFLIP!
Apologies, I couldn’t help myself on that one.
Mad love yo! Mad love!
When you get back to YT videos, can you do a video about varial heelflips? Mine ain’t heel flipping and it’s spinning out of control like a laser
A game changer tip is that you don't actually wanna be flipping the board with your heel, basically a kickflip off the other side
Case and point that steezy toe flip @10:06
After your first try that was kinda rocket, I was like “oh maybe he’s mortal after all!”…and then all your “bad” attempts were still floatier than most peoples every trick 😂
With the heelflips, you gotta get more forward and send it harder. More squat, more pop. Flick a little straighter.
With all due respect, what does Mark Walhberg know about skating? I will pass on the shoes but I wish you all the best
I appreciate that you chose to share your opinion with respect. Thanks for the love 🙏🏾
👍
Thats why they have Maurio
To me your heelflips look real nice, i cant even land one😂 they feel so weird to me❤
Do they fit true to size ?
Most brands over the years aren’t run or backed financially by skaters. It matters if they have skaters directing the brand. Get that money !
I used to do heel flips and tally mark them down with my homie. Now I’m blessed every time I get a rare heel flip. I can only really do them fakie now which is weird as fuck.😂

For a dude to say those heels weren't so pretty, I gotta say... those heels were still pretty darn pretty!
I was expecting an ‘ES announcement 😢.
You have very nice heelflips. But since you said they are not good for you then try putting your toe inside the bord and use the toe to flip the board. Thats how i learned it.
Those are good heel flips, I think you should just make a conscious effort to do them more so they're more comfortable
