The most iconic skater of the 2000s. He made you feel like you could go tear up any spot you wanted to after watching his parts. And they got rewatched thousands of times and the hype was just as strong as the first time watching. Thats what makes him such a legend
God, imagine doing all this in just a few hours. What sets him apart from other pros isn't just his switch game or how tech and stylish he is, but he does it so lightning quick, smooth and consistently that you forget how tough these tricks really are. Real ledge-end killer🔥
Never lost a step. My God he's still flawless to this day. His part in that video to me is still the best video part of all time, and it's not even close. God bless PJ Ladd for making my teen years goated and sign me up for that deck!!!
PJ’s skating, like everyone’s, is unique. But even this session alone proves that it’s something really special and it’s always looked this way to me: It genuinely looks like the board *wants* to work with him. His pop and foot control make it look like that board is his best friend and it doesn’t have that fundamental feeling of ‘look what he is making that board do’ - it’s just more like ‘look what him and the board are doing’. It’s always looked like that to me. I can’t think of many skaters that give me same type of feeling watching them skate.
Well put. Incredible board control. PJ is among the absolute best to ever step on a board. Together with Penny [in his prime years], Creager, Oliveira, O'Neill, …
Its incredible to Think he still can have this High of a level on his skateboarding - let alone his ledgegame. PJ Ladd Will forever be one the greatest of all time. I. AM. IN. AWE
LOVE THIS! PJ Ladd will always be one of the best to ever do it and this edit is a joy to watch, looking forward to the Storied episode, too, appreciate you PJ and Storied, keep it up!
Thanks for this bit of nostalgia. Still have the vhs tape that ive watched 100s of times.Shane and pj firmly on repeat this week.their vids get this old bastard inspired to keep rolling😊
I grew up in MA and would see PJ at some of the Central MA skateparks and watching him mess around was something else. When this video came out, it was the only time skateboarding made me depressed and it was knowing that, no matter how hard I tried, I could never be as good. MA represent!
Dude was one of the heaviest tech skateboarders of the time of the video. He is obviously still on beast level. My favourite part is seeing his beat ass shoes, he’s still putting in work!
That part was so ahead of its time. I mean front 360 heelflip down a set of stairs. I could be wrong but I haven't really seen anyone do that. Shout out to the legend pj ladd
My favourite skater growing up. I got his first flip pro board when it came out, i still have a piece of it on my wall. The graphic was called hideout tree from 2003
When PJ Ladd’s part came out in Really Sorry I was super inspired by his skating. I built a box (very similar to this one) and would take it up the street to the basketball court and session it trying to emulate his style.
Swear I missed PJ sessions. I was just talking about him last week. Man he still got it, I said when I get old I’m going to try my best to be like PJ & Paul…. Just trying to get in my 40’s and be extra crispy at ledge tricks. Also nobody can as many 360 BS Kickflips in a row like PJ. He is one of the true Kickflip masters!
I love that he’s a pro that doesn’t switch his shoes up once they’re beat. You can tell those shoes have some miles on them. That’s how I think of true skater’s shoes.
Dude still got it. I remember seeing him at eggs 10+ year ago and I saw him do a 50-50 while skating past him. It wasn’t like a regular 50-50 though, it just seemed different and proper. Looked up and it was PJ 😂. Ended up just sitting and watching him for the rest of the session. Dude was/is a beast
Any one of these would be my walk-off ender... doing them on a random Thursday morning... what's horrible about it is that we all weren't there to see it live, and the moment is over
I wanted to order to Hungary but it wasn’t available in the list for some reason. Anyways best dude ever, best videopart ever by a long stretch! Thanks for making me nostalgic! I love you guys!
