The weakest part of this team is at the back and yet Southgate doesn't call up Tomori. He's been learning his trade in Italy, which is literally the best place to learn how to defend.

Another reason why I don’t think that England will win the EUROs is because of Harry Kane. I’m not saying that to make jokes as yes Kane is arguably the best striker in the world right now purely off of individual brilliance, but as we all know that he has bad luck when it comes to winning trophies. While it’s not entirely his fault, still at the end of the day he remains the greatest player to have never won a trophy at the age of 30.
Football is a team sport and you have to rely on the support of your teammates, when it comes to these sort of tournaments in international football, the team only goes as far as their star player takes them. France- Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann Belgium- Kevin De Bruyne, Portugal- Cristiano Ronaldo Argentina- Lionel Messi Brazil- Neymar and others and we’ve seen this with Kane for club and country where despite his brilliance every team that he plays for he carries them as far as he takes them. In a team he is the system and everything revolves around him which is why in big games you are exporting him to perform and score goals. For England yes he has Jude Bellingham Phil Foden and others around him, Kane has to deliver and be the main man because a recurring theme from what we’ve seen with him in the national team where he’s in top form and scores a lot of goals in these tournaments and then when his country needs him in big matches, he does ok, but from a guy who’s seen as a world class striker, he has to do more if he and England are to end their respective trophy droughts.
Tbf the last time England won something was 58 years ago, long before Kane was even born. In the 2000s England had Beckham Rooney Scholes Lampard Gerrard, Rio Ferdinand and John Terry and they didn’t win anything.

On paper, England have a very strong squad and they should be able to at least get to the final of the EUROs. Them not winning it isn’t down to a lack of talent as they don’t have any excuses if they don’t make a deep run in this tournament even though there was an injury concern around one of their players and with the plethora of talent that they have in this tournament picking their best XI I’m telling you it’s going to be a consistent headache every single game for Gareth Southgate as he has the biggest problem that not many manages can fix even though they have a plethora of talent in their team. You have the European Golden Shoe winner who’s arguably the best striker in the world right now, the premier league young and player of the season and La Liga player of the season the likes of Harry Kane Phil Foden Cole Palmer Jude Bellingham and Bukayo Saka are used to taking responsibility when they play for their respective clubs and you have them on the same team alongside Declan Rice one of the best midfielders in the world holding down the midfield.
Everyone knows that talent has never been an issue for England but the thing with them in major tournaments as that just when you think they have a chance to win, they’ll find a way to bottle it in the end they’re like the Tottenham of international football where no matter how well they play, they don’t win anything in the end. The group stages, you expect them to advance easily as playing the likes of Serbia Denmark and Slovenia shouldn’t be a struggle for them because they don’t need to be at their best to get the job done even though you want to see them play well and look good and in the knockouts once they progress very far in the tournament, you think wow “It’s Finally Coming Home” only for them to lose and get knocked out. The same thing is going to happen again and one of the problems that England had with their previous teams and we see this in general is that with the format of these tournaments and how it’s set up, just because your team has the most talent out of any team, it doesn’t mean you have the best team and all of it is going to click. Being able to fit in all of these players and mask up all of the defensive concerns is a way for them to go all the way and win this tournament. It’s not just the fact that they lost to Iceland, they don’t look convincing at all and it makes you question does Gareth Southgate have what it takes to win an international trophy with England because they don’t have the right manager for this star studded team and he knows that he has to go if they don’t win the EUROs this summer.
🏴's run in the tournament will depend largely on how well Foden performs: their most talented player and how well Kane performs: their most prolific goalscorer. As long as the other players play their part, it shouldn't be as difficult for them as some think it'll be

Grealish is very predicable and does the same thing everytime: Take the ball to the touchline and square the ball back to the top of the box. That's isn't anything special. So why didn't Pep utilize his _set-piece winning ability then last season if he only started 10x?_

I'm not an England supporter, but I can still recognize that England's past failures don't have anything to do with the present. I doubt that they'll win, but they'll coast through the group and should reach at least the semis. Most of the traditionally strong teams (Italy, Germany, Spain, Holland) aren't what they used to be. We have every right to be optimistic. I can't remember an England squad being more in form going into a tournament.
