Everyone freaking out over this video and forgetting that Tristan literally does this shit as a career and is a professional at it. He knows what he's talking about. He has an ear for what is technically healthy or unhealthy and what sounds good (even if ''good'' is a subjective concept) and provides advise and criticism. Tristan knows how to do constructive criticism. Maybe James wasn't completely showstopping then, but with these tips I believe he has a lot of potential in his vocals. I can't sing for shit so I can't speak for anyone, but this dude knows what he's talking about.

- awful intonation
- belting is more like yelling
- bad attitude

I know I'm a lil late to the party, but all I have to say is that microphone is a shotgun mic. The diaphragm is at the top of the mic. James Charles has been singing into the side of the microphone this whole time.

@@drtechn0 Nope, it's a directional microphone. The best you can get from positioning it like that is naught but a whimper of past regrets. Granted though, it's visually appealing to look at it like that, so good on James' part.

james is too confident with his singing :( not that it’s bad that he’s confident but sometimes overconfident can make you not wanna accept other people’s opinion. i can hear that some of the notes that hes singing isnt the note that he should be hitting. for example, the note was supposed to be higher but he sings it low...btw he is a very talented person its just that when someone’s really confident with the way they’re singing, and even with vocal training, he wont change his tone because he thinks he already sounds perfect and that he’s never wrong. which should be avoided because tou need to accept opinions and advises. like tristan said, its not wrong but it just sounds kinda dull when he sings the note lower than the original key. i’m an ordinary human myself, i make mistakes everyday and i’m not perfect but i’m just saying the things that were going on in my mind.
