  • Very dramatic and impressive debut by an extremely talented young composer. Full of soaring melodies, unique harmonies and exciting rhythms, River of Life is a quality composition that is sure to be popular for contest and concert use by bands all over the world.
River of Life was commissioned by and is dedicated to the Talawanda High School Band, Oxford, Ohio, John Purdy, director.
    -C.L. Barnhouse Company, Steven Reineke
From the Walking Frog Records Consert Band CD "Into the Raging River:The Music of Steven Reineke"

FYI: For those of you who are misinformed, River of Life was written BEFORE Sedona. Moreover, Steven Reineke isn't the only composer to ever copy his own compositional techniques from piece to piece. REAL musicians should know this... :-)

@almightyJ620 It' still a comment. Just because it's months ago, doesn't mean people can express their opinions on others.

@almightyJ620 That doesn't make any sense on your part, but ok. I'll stop.

This sounds like something from the movie Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron or something :D. My high school band played this at their concert tonight, and it was amazing.

Kind of reminds me of the Jurassic Park theme.

This is an incredibly bold ripoff of Joel McNeely's theme from IRON WILL.

Aaaaand he responded...proved how childish I was, huh?
"Butthurt? ok. I'm just going to let the child win.
    You win.
Would you like a cookie? I have marshmallows as well, want some?"
...yeah, okay. You 'let me win' but still tried to prove a point. Just...stop.
