Gotta love the late 90’s Chevy trucks. Squishy breaks, the heat vent right behind the cup holder to keep your cold drinks warm, and can’t forget the oil pressure the goes to almost 0 at idle

Mike... about the rear hatch... if I recall correctly from my neighbors 2 Door Tahoe when I was young, (he had one when new)... I believe that if you use the key in the rear tailgate lock, and turn it the opposite way than you would for the tailgate, it will open the hatch.
The door chime... mine broke once and it just always went off. That was fun. Apparently it's just a small black box under the dash that you can unplug.
Its not any of our business but I'm sure all of us would be very happy for them when you put your life and parts of your life on TH-cam people will notice things like this
You can get those pedal covers at most parts stores, my friend has a 97truck I remember when he first got it that was missing and it was really slippery and squeaky.

Mike, you mentioned the brakes being spongy. Look into the NBS master cylinder swap. I did it to mine and love it. I also deleted the RWAL but I think your year model has the full abs system.

Mike you can use the 3/4 calipers for the brakes and then put some braided brake lines on it, that will help your brake feel alot. Then if you really want it even better put on a hydroboost setup
he probably had to send it in as a core. but if he did still have it, it would be a huge pain in the ass because the up pipe pedestal isnt removable. he would be better off buying a normal s300-s400 based turbo.
I’ve got a 98 k2500 and I hated the door chime too, you can take your dash off and unplug it, it’s plugged into the pin that sticks out of the side of the dash that gets pushed in by the door, also the brakes are spongy no matter what it’s just how the pedal feels
For the spongy brakes, I'd do a one man brake system flush and bleed. All you need is a quart (maybe a bit more) of new brake fluid, a 1 liter pop bottle, and a 2' piece of clear hose that will fit on the bleeder. I did it on my truck and was amazed how firm the brakes were afterwards.
Hey Mike you can make that door buzzer stop. There's a black switch like button on the side the dash the drivers side. When door closes it makes contact with the side of the dash it pushes in the switch deactivating the buzzer off, open the door up and the switch comes out activating the buzzer. So put tape on it to keep the buzzer turned off. If you read this try it my friend
Hey Mike when you get a set of new tires for that. Look into buying a set of Gladiator M/T. They're a great offroad tire. My buddy has a set on his Jeep Wrangler and they are awesome. Im Gonna get a set when I get my project scout up and running.
Just have to say love the channel and grew up in the 717. I noticed you use a chain to yank him off the hill, using a chain to recovery someone is dangerous. That chain can come break loose and act as a slingshot. nylon strap would work better I am in the Army and teach at the recovery school. Just have to say again love your channel.
Your brakes are most likely 100% fine. Ever one of these vehicles has spongy breaks. My ‘99 suburban does the same thing to the point where I had them tested, apparently for no reason haha They came from factory like that.

My mom 1998 Chevy Astro AWD had 2 hidden cup holders just like you found in this video on your Blazer and my dad's 1996 Chevy Silverado 2500 6.5L turbo diesel that he had also had hidden cup holders as well.
The breaks always feel like that, you can upgrade to the 2000's break booster that should help. If it is the 5.7l It would be a good idea to do the intake manifold gasket they are prone to go on the 5.7 vortecs
I really hope you make this a practical off roader, no stance, some beadlocks with some nice tall tires, lockers print and rear, a good lift, some bumpers rock sliders and lights

i love the Tahoe man i have wanted one my whole childhood but i settled for a 92 silverado 2500 with a 4spd manual trans for my first truck man i miss that truck
I bought a 2001 Chevy blazer for 550 dollars in early december and it wasnt until after I had it for about a month that one of my buddies pointed out that it was actually the "high rider" edition which was also the "ZR2" on the parts code. So it has the 3 inch wider frame, beefier front end, skid plates, 8.5 rear dif with the stock locker, fits 31's stock AND IT RUNS AND DRIVES I got this truck for an absolute STEAL because the seller thought it was just some crappy blazer with 200k on it. 4x4 works well. It is a project rig so I started to rip apart the 4l60e and rebuild it and will eventually be swapping the 5.7 into it. Before I tore into the tranny I put probably 2000-3000 hard miles up in the mountains of colorado. Had to put the project on hold because I got deployed earlier this month but I am so excited to get back and finish it up. Seeing this project gets me pretty excited for mine. I know I know.. Its the newer gen but considering it is a ZR2 you just can't beat the project for the money.

I don't know about the Tahoe but my 99 Suburban had a 44 gallon gas tank placed at the very back and it had great traction in the wet and the sand !!

You can engage the push button 4x4 while rolling. It’s recommended in the manual to aid with the engagement.

@inpc 3333 wrong, it has the g80 locker. I have jacked it up and tested the LSD properties and it locks up as it should.
I have a 1997 chevy pick-up and i have replaced the brakes and their are still spongy
