Hi Sam. Thanks so much for all your videos. So inspired by your work. I think Im coming out of a 35year retirement. (Used to do own build nitro hrydos and loved it then) Going to get a kit.
What size motor and kV, what esc and how many cell lipo? I have a 19.5" rigger, 5500kv 2838 brushless motor, 90a flycolor ESC and a 100c 3s lipo 1300mah. Haven't ran it yet with the new motor
Tenho um do msm tamanho, e mesma configuração de motor, uso 6s, motor 3674 xteam 1900kv, porém o meu atingi 160km/h, deve ser o modelo de hélice, estou usando uma Helice de 48 mm, passo 1.9
Great question. I don't know since I don't race. But I do know this, it still holds several world records on timed laps. It's probably a matter of interest, in other words racing in a class that club members are interested in participating.
what on earth did you do to make so much more speed ? surely the 5000 mah wasn’t the only change ? what c rating and brand did you go for ? is the prop still the 45 17 ? it even seams less flighty than the earlier runs just amazed 👌
I didn't change anything on the setup. The only prop I could run all out and hold it pinned was the 1914. And that ran 72 mph. And I felt that prop was not pushing the electronics. With the 1817, the first run was not on great water. Then on better water it was hitting the LVC. Best run was 68 mph. So yes, I switched from a pair of HRB 7000mAh, 55C 3S lipos from Amazon to a single 6S 5000mAh, 50C Spektrum G2 lipo. And it weighs 3 ounces less fwiw. So it hit 74.4 mph and I never really canned it around a whole lap, there's more speed to be had. It surprised me and now that I've ran it once, I should have the confidence to hold it thru the turns. Now it comes down to driving... 😁👍
@@jamesatkinson7517 Good on you, you'll love it. I feel the Zippkits riggers consistently setup well. I'm also very impressed with the Neu motor I'm running. They are spendy tho.
I appreciate your input, but for me, as I was editing the video I wanted to make it like an official run, other words showing zeroing out the GPS and not cutting the video for the entire run. Then I have a choice to make, dub some music over that part, including taping the cowling or you get to watch the entire boring process of getting the boat prepped and in the water without music. I chose music, but faded it out for the run. For sure I like hearing the boat during the run. That's better music. So that's why. Long answer, but maybe you'll understand. I know I get bored watching someone getting a boat ready...
