      Or who asks you to bring your own equipment and asks for "weapons". Weaponology is an extremely old and well developed field, and the vastness, variety and versatility (r/accidentalalliteration?) of the array of weapons and applications of those weapons is nearly incomprehensible, and this guy, he asks for "weapons".

    I'm always amused by the "This person from the past looks just like someone from today" type of "proof" of time travel.
    Like, you're aware there's only so many ways the human face can be arranged right?
    The sheer number of people alive today means you almost certainly have a near identical double, now put that back through all of history and it's not exactly surprising that a handful of famous people today have a double or three through history.

    • @PiTdeLyX
      @PiTdeLyX 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Well, there is more or less an indefinetly huge amount of different faces that are possible - but thats on an microscopic (or smaller) grade. For what we see on pictures and paintings (like wtf) it isn't too hard to find someone who looks kinda the same

    • @ArtisticlyAlexis
      @ArtisticlyAlexis 6 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      Especially when it comes to paintings, which aren't always accurate, but the artist's interpretation of the subject. Some of the greatest portrait painters created hundreds if not thousands of paintings and used tricks to get the general idea of the person, which makes it even more likely to find general similarities to other people who have similar features.

    It doesn't make sense how seeing someone alive today that resembles someone from history makes people think that the person time traveled. Even if you believed its the same person (just to be clear I dont) wouldn't the most logical theory be that that person is immortal, not that they can travel through time? The simplest answer is usually correct.

    • @milascave2
      @milascave2 6 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      caleb: True. But you would think that an immortal, or a time traveler, who wanted to keep it a secret would choose some other profession besides acting.

Almost nobody predicted it, not in any detail, and if you had called it before it happened, that would be really strong proof. Idk if time travel or time slips are real but I’ve seen some weird stuff, specially one event the happened two years ago now.
    I was at home, alone, with the TV loud. For some reason I needed to call my dad, the reasoning wasn’t really important, but I did just that. The phone rang and then suddenly stopped as if it had been picked up. I waited maybe a second before saying, “Dad?” followed by a longer pause “Daaaad????” There was nothing on the other line and suddenly I was overcome with an inexplicable sense of fear/dread and hung up as quickly as I could. I waited awhile before redialing his number. This time, he was on the line and assured me that his phone didn’t ring previously even though I had, without doubt, dialed his number. I moved on though.
    Later that day I get a call. I walk to the phone, check the caller ID and there isn’t a number. It isn’t “called unknown” or anything like that, instead the screen is just blank. I think that’s weird but it’s probably just a solicitor, so I let the phone ring. The answering machine beeps and over the speaker I hear static followed by “Dad?” The voice is distorted so it takes me a minute to register that it’s my voice. I run to the kitchen as the voice sounds again “Daaaad???” As I pick up the phone to answer the call, the line suddenly goes dead.
    I still have the recording the answering machine saved and don’t know what the hell happened that day. If anyone could actually shed some light on this, I would appreciate it.

    I love watching these kinds of conspiracy things (ghosts, aliens, bigfoot, time travel, etc.) late at night as a way to scare myself. I don't do horror movies very much and I sometimes don't like actual scary stories (like real accounts of serial killers) so I watch these instead. I don't actually believe any part of them and tend to find myself a pretty hardcore skeptic when it comes to anything paranormal (I'm not against the idea of aliens existing but I see no reason to believe they've visited earth) but I find it a fun way to spend a night.

    Time machines going back wont work because the ambient radiation of the present would follow you to the past and build up upon radiation already present. Basically being a feedback loop, the radiation builds up into an explosion almost instantly until portal is destroyed

    • @dingdongism
      @dingdongism 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, so *that's* why time travel can't work! And here I thought it was because it was impossible. Well shit. Now all you have to do is build yourself a "radiation dissipator" and you're good to go. I had no idea time travel was a simple matter of dealing with excess radiation.

    Wow, such great quality, so interesting! I really like the theory of time travel, but there are too many problems involved into that.
    Main problem would be that you would have to be free from "3 Dimmensional time-space-thingly" so basically no living human would be able to travel through time and we would never be able to percieve them when they do...

    In my mind, when sociological cycles all hit the same point at the same time, it creates people who have no confusion over their place in these historical and psychological cycles and thus mentally mature earlier and become great leaders. There lies no doomsday.

    The sci-fi writers having future knowledge is a cool theory and I think it's true in reverse. Star Trek predicted cell phones. But that's because inventors, engineers and scientists watch TV. Art is at the forefront of every change, whether it be technology, social or otherwise.

    I'm from the future and I'm stuck here because the time machine broke. The only bright side of this predicament is that I'm currently working in a screen printing shop with the future 1st woman president of the USA. She's quite unremarkable, but she is only 22 right now. Her first name begins with H and ends with Y. She also becomes quite an unremarkable president except for the fact that she's the 1st woman to hold that position in the USA. Party on and be awesome to each other.

    Look, if people could time travel, someone would get the idea of taking the winning lottery numbers a couple days back, win a huge amount of money and then do what they want. They'd to things like go further back, make investments or buy what they knew would gain immense value in the future. It would be easy. Nobody has done so.
