When you mentioned a couple of the cameras did not have the function for an external microphone do you mean those cameras do not record sound at all? Or that they just cannot have a microphone plugged in? Sorry for being silly!

Redskull My Apeman A70 just arrived with an excessive amount of accessories!!! I can upload videos from the camera to my PC, but I've got the problem of not being able to get the videos from the card (in a micro usb/micro SD flash adaptor) onto my phone... I've formatted the SD cards on the camera, but still no joy!? Any pointers? ...and with that, can you recommend the best app for the Apeman A70? ...trying to set up Wi-Fi. Thanks so much! Which action camera (including go pros) do you think is the best overall, including quality and battery life? Maybe $350 max, just for walking around attached to my backpack etc. Love the videos btw man!
Nice roundup, I was unhappy with the Apeman as the focus was set at too close distance and buildings / landscapes looked too soft. It came with great accessories and case. But I am happy with the Firefly 7S. 58 USD for 170 degree version and 77 USD for 90 degrees no distortion lens. I use the 90 degree version. The fisheye distortion and ultrawide lens gets tiring to my eye.

did you check out the Yi Discovery? I think it retails for around $60...doesn't have EIS, but in the water that isn't too helpful anyway...but wait it doesn't come with a waterproof case... hmmm... i thinkyou are still better off to spend $70 and get the Apeman A80

Hi, can you view a live feed from the camera on an iPhone? And if so what are the maximum distances from your phone that these cameras can be for the live feed to work?
you can watch on an iPhone what any of these 5 are seeing if connected thru their wifi. the most expensive ones have a somewhat longer range of around 12m. More than that you will start to loose connectivity
Do you plan review of sport cameras with GPS ? Can you advise some 'cheap' and reasonable replacement for GoPro (can be with external GPS module..but should allow to show current speed on movie)

yes, most of them can be used connected to a power bank or a power source. I've done detailed reviews for each one mentioned in this video. I recommend checking that before buying anything to make sure it has everyting you are looking for. Links available in the video's description

I am a little bit of confused of that SJ8000 model. I currently owning that model, but i have been looking around on the internet. Some say its Tekcam SJ9000, some say its SJ8000. Which model it actually is?
I will use my action camera mainly for underwater videos and doubting between de SJ6 and SJ7. What would you recommend? Any difference in the casings? Can you switch between picture and video while in the casing? Had a cheap camera before but I got water in it and camera is ruined.
i would get the SJ7, the price difference isn't that big. You can switch between picture and video in the waterproof case. I try they out in the water...but i don't actually go diving so i can't say how good they would do with the water pressure
Question: I'm planning on filming my road trip to Italy this summer and want to know what the best in car camera would be. I have coilovers on my car so it vibrates way more then a normal car, image stabilization would be very helpful. I dont think i need 4k resolution, id much rather have a very stable and smooth 1080p! An external mic would also be helpfull to capture the sound of my car from the outside (on the rear bumper, close to the exhaust). My question, what would be the best action camera to get for this situation? Im new to filming in general so amy tips are welcome!

I'm looking for an Action cam. I prefer Xiaomi (called Xiaoyi nowadays). I would to buy it at Gearbest; but they don't sell them anymore. The 4k is nice but i already have a Lumix G7 and almost always shoot 1080p. The 4K is nice but i prefer a high quality 2K version. At DX i could buy the Xiaoyi 2K around 64 usd brand new (improved version it says). I tried the 4k version; bought it for my brother at Gearbest. I watched different SJ8000 (not real 4k i noticed) reviews i think it is a good camera if you look for a 4K camera. Which one would you buy? I already read the comments and some asked A80 vs Xiaoyi 2K version already? What is your opinion? Sound recording is not important for me.

It surprised me you tested 40 action camera and missed a populair one like the Xiaomi Yi 2k. Xiaomi is a very populair brand with very good products at a an affordable price. I don't know yet which action camera review i had to pick to compare to the Yi 2k. Maybe i have to compare the image processors: The Yi 2k has Ambarella A7LS and. The affordable one you tested have the Novatek 96660 and the more expensive have the Ambarella A12S75. Maybe you can say something about the image processor. Sorry for my many questions. What's definitely missing is the Firefly 8S. Very similar specs and price as Thieye T5,
but with an image stabilisation that's even better than YI 4K.
I didn't get a chance to try it out, but the company offered to send a review unit after this video. I will have a review coming as soon as i get it

out of the ones in this video only the SJCAM SJ6, SJ7 and ThieEYE can take external microphones
SJ6 and SJ7 are only competible with SJCAM MIC. We have tested that.

I like the Yi 4k+ really nice, but the price is over 300€, this is too much and I don`t need a lot of fuctions. I`m looking for a good allrounder, but the video quality is the most important point for me.
What do you think about Firefly 8s, WiMiUS L1, L3, Q3 and Yi 4k+?

The Thieye T5e is like 160€ in my country. Would you recommend me buying the apeman a80 for 80€ instead?

Yes it is. The waterproof case may not fit perfectly, but everything else will.

I am a little bit of confused of that SJ8000 model. I currently owning that model, but i have been looking around on the internet. Some say its Tekcam SJ9000, some say its SJ8000. Which model it actually is?

I will use my action camera mainly for underwater videos and doubting between de SJ6 and SJ7. What would you recommend? Any difference in the casings? Can you switch between picture and video while in the casing? Had a cheap camera before but I got water in it and camera is ruined.
i would get the SJ7, the price difference isn't that big. You can switch between picture and video in the waterproof case. I try they out in the water...but i don't actually go diving so i can't say how good they would do with the water pressure

I haven't tried the SJ 5000X. Should be the same 96660 chipset...im assuming the quality will be similar
Question: I'm planning on filming my road trip to Italy this summer and want to know what the best in car camera would be. I have coilovers on my car so it vibrates way more then a normal car, image stabilization would be very helpful. I dont think i need 4k resolution, id much rather have a very stable and smooth 1080p! An external mic would also be helpfull to capture the sound of my car from the outside (on the rear bumper, close to the exhaust).
My question, what would be the best action camera to get for this situation? Im new to filming in general so amy tips are welcome!

Need an action camera for waterparks and theme parks, any suggestions? Was thinking GoPro Hero Session but these look much better for cheaper! Not sure what to go for... although gopro hero is waterproof without case :/

I'm looking for an Action cam. I prefer Xiaomi (called Xiaoyi nowadays). I would to buy it at Gearbest; but they don't sell them anymore. The 4k is nice but i already have a Lumix G7 and almost always shoot 1080p. The 4K is nice but i prefer a high quality 2K version. At DX i could buy the Xiaoyi 2K around 64 usd brand new (improved version it says). I tried the 4k version; bought it for my brother at Gearbest.
I watched different SJ8000 (not real 4k i noticed) reviews i think it is a good camera if you look for a 4K camera. Which one would you buy?

Thank you for your reply. The sound is NOT important for me; so checking out the full review for the sound is pointless. It surprised me you tested 40 action camera and missed a populair one like the Xiaomi Yi 2k. Xiaomi is a very populair brand with very good products at a an affordable price.
I don't know yet which action camera review i had to pick to compare to the Yi 2k. Maybe i have to compare the image processors: The Yi 2k has Ambarella A7LS and. The affordable one you tested have the Novatek 96660 and the more expensive have the Ambarella A12S75. Maybe you can say something about the image processor. Sorry for my many questions. I have watch most of your your android box reviews; i know you know what your are doing.

i would get the Apeman, very similar video quality
I would also take the Apeman, but not because the similar Video Quality, much more because of the better stabilization.
