The waterproof gasket and case after a year of use will warp a bit. so you just need to get another case before the waterproofing goes away. You can add an external microphone attachment for less than $10. In this class of camera you can easily modify it. 950 MaH battery will not last for several hours filming. It will do that only powered in 'stand by' mode. I use a pair of cameras with 1050 MaH batteries and they will record for an hour or so. Apeman, Campark Akaso cameras and dozens of others in the class all use the same battery so that helps when you need to carry multiple cameras and use the same battery.

I have a similar one for around $60. Works just fine and is about the quality of my gopro 3+ silver. Haven't tried the 4k mode yet, but the 1080 30 and 60fps work just fine. So I'd say just read the reviews on amazon and similar sites. I use gopro type cams for secondary angles on my videos and I usually film with 3 or even 4 cameras at a time. If you can have additional angles at a low price it's great. I.e. for car travel shots I usually have one fixed to the wheel well or above my skid plates, one on the inside filming out and one on the inside filming the passengers. For the last one the cheap cameras work great! Mine has a 170 degree angle mounted above the rear view mirror and it gets everyone in the car and even some stuff outside the side windows. Makes great intermittent clips when you have to make fun of a Prius or something.

Okay, I don't care about the extras or a case. I do case about good picture quality and image stabilization. Is there a cheap action camera with those?
I have the Eken H9R, and I can verify the video will be not as clear as GoPro. There is a video somewhere on Y-tube where someone did a side-by-side recording comparison of an Eken and a GoPro, and the difference is quite notiecable. GoPros are expensive because of their high quality lenses for the most part. More megapixels mean nothing with a low grade lense. Cheap cameras usually have plastic lenses or those make of cheap glass. You do get what you pay for. If you want real 4K recording quality, buy GoPro or one of it's equal-quality ( and equally high priced) competitors
So it only shoots in around 720p is a bit blurry and laggy but what do you expect for that price. Im gunna be getting one of these cameras. Thanks for this videobit helped a lot
You can get "action cam" cases for ios, and some Androids. They even have gopro style connections. I haven't come across a "SJ"Cam that lives up to the resolutions it promised, and video in 1080p mode is always vga quality at most. I would be happy with 720p coming out looking like this for a dashcam for $23
Great video! I almost bought one of these, but now I know it's not what it seems like advertised. By the way, what video editor did you use on this video? The editing was so smooth!
For $20 you would be very fortunate to get 720p. I would be very interested to know if they were honest enough to declare what CMOS sensor & what CPU is inside. The really cheap stuff is 640x480 VGA cropped and interpolated. Used as a dash cam the wide-angle lens was the main attraction.
I've owned 2 of these and removing and installing batteries frequently causes them to break the battery connectors in the camera. Good for the money if you use it with care, not for extreme use.
Bro it's less than ten percent of the cost ofGoPro 8 and totally reflects in the quality. You are right it's not that good. However it makes a great disposable cam for many things. I use them on my first person view drones. I crash alot and with this camera I have little concern. Thank you for the vid!
Have you tried the 4k or 1080p with a U3 Micro SD rather than just a class 10? I have seen that even high-end action cams will struggle if not, stop working completely, if not using a U3 micro sd card.
my dad just sent me one of these. strange part is a couple years back he sent me a gopro hero 5 black which is miles and miles better than this. thanks for the vid, saves me from having to try to figure this thing out, mine didnt come with instructions.
Of course, for the price, you get what you get, although, this would not be bad when using that as a dashcam or surveillance camera! So for that price, i would recommend these kinds of camera when using that as dashcams 👍
You know you can buy wide angle lens for about $3-4? Some are rated 180° but are more like 175°. All cheap 4k cams stretch/scale a lower res image to make it 4k size. Some of them are so cheap that they don't have enough processing power to stretch 1080p so they stretch a 720p like you said.

I got a $15 1080p one
not bad for the price!
Yes I got that 1080p one two did a full review on it not bad for price
The only thing I’m worried about is, is it fully 100% water-proof if I use it when I’m on a water slide or something like that.
I have that camera it’s good
Glad to see another Calgarian making it big on TH-cam🙌
Go Calgary!
If you order this in India it is just 6$
try the eken h8 pro also look at the microphone hack on TH-cam it is so much better almost identical to the gopro
for a second, I thought you were talking about my microphone quality lol 😂
Royal Tech no your microphone quality is great I was talking about the fake gopro
H
*yes but takes electrical engineering skills to perform modifications successfully*
For what i need this, which is parkour videos,it gets the job done. For first person view though, not recording tricks!
Did the sd card come with it
+Ethan Deming nope that was more expensive then the camera 😜
This is the camera you buy a 17 and younger kid
+Silver Snake who considers 17 to be a kid?....lol
A lot of people actually. I'm 23 and everyone at my job thinks I'm "soooo young" here.
17 is definitely a kid lmao.
So it only shoots in around 720p is a bit blurry and laggy but what do you expect for that price. Im gunna be getting one of these cameras. Thanks for this videobit helped a lot
I use my Iphone and to be honest, it's great
You can get "action cam" cases for ios, and some Androids. They even have gopro style connections.
I haven't come across a "SJ"Cam that lives up to the resolutions it promised, and video in 1080p mode is always vga quality at most. I would be happy with 720p coming out looking like this for a dashcam for $23
... once you install Denial OS
Great video! I almost bought one of these, but now I know it's not what it seems like advertised. By the way, what video editor did you use on this video? The editing was so smooth!
I just use my phone fuck that
Beastboy777 yea but is your phone waterproof
Theres cases
And bags
Beastboy777 not nearly as waterproof. No pohone case that is reasonably sized and priced is made to go down 30m
I phone 7 plus but the go bro not bad
Thanks for your good advice.
Why am I watching this? I already have a GoPro hero 7 black lol
Same. xD
Same😂😂
hello what would you recommend if not this camera for under 100 thanks nice video.
4k at 15 fps ... AHHAHAHAHA what did you expect from a 20 dollars camera... seriously... dont buy shit like that is unusable
"4k"
Jist for the fact you cover a cheap action cam and give a decent review and because your a growing chan you earnt my sub
lol i cant even buy 1$ dollar cam XD i have only second last lg oldest smartphone so u can guess it how would be my camera XD
DKDEADSTAR PLAYS
You are great with a smartphone.
Guardian Observer yea ik i bought a new phone
DKDEADSTAR PLAYS
Best move!
Do you have a red weapon camera?
I need an update of the new versions. This video was 6 years ago a lot has changed.
ayy yyc
+Nadnerb 💪🏻😈 teamYYC
Nadnerb damn I knew it was yyc
Finally...daaammmnnn...a good review of this camera
So why the massive difference in framerate at the lake vs in the car
For $20 you would be very fortunate to get 720p. I would be very interested to know if they were honest enough to declare what CMOS sensor & what CPU is inside. The really cheap stuff is 640x480 VGA cropped and interpolated.
Used as a dash cam the wide-angle lens was the main attraction.
I've owned 2 of these and removing and installing batteries frequently causes them to break the battery connectors in the camera. Good for the money if you use it with care, not for extreme use.
You're a hero for saving me the experiment
Bro it's less than ten percent of the cost ofGoPro 8 and totally reflects in the quality. You are right it's not that good. However it makes a great disposable cam for many things. I use them on my first person view drones. I crash alot and with this camera I have little concern. Thank you for the vid!
Have you tried the 4k or 1080p with a U3 Micro SD rather than just a class 10? I have seen that even high-end action cams will struggle if not, stop working completely, if not using a U3 micro sd card.
I wonder if a $80 action camera is worth to buy, I’m plannning on buying camera for my first curise trip and want a good one
I know you work so hard on your vids so I liked and subscribed
my dad just sent me one of these. strange part is a couple years back he sent me a gopro hero 5 black which is miles and miles better than this. thanks for the vid, saves me from having to try to figure this thing out, mine didnt come with instructions.
Of course, for the price, you get what you get, although, this would not be bad when using that as a dashcam or surveillance camera!
So for that price, i would recommend these kinds of camera when using that as dashcams 👍
Would this camera be ok for interior of the car video filming the driver and passenger ?
You know you can buy wide angle lens for about $3-4? Some are rated 180° but are more like 175°. All cheap 4k cams stretch/scale a lower res image to make it 4k size. Some of them are so cheap that they don't have enough processing power to stretch 1080p so they stretch a 720p like you said.
