And having the raids get out of control and invade the real world every few days making it a real threat. as they get faster and faster making it harder for the tamers to fight them off each time. Especially with each raid boss having a raid army

I watched the recording of this back in 2017 and I loved it. I think the actors embodied the cast pretty well and, in a weird way, had great chemistry with the puppets. I also like the way it predicted the themes of Kizuna. At the same time, it's just another example of Toei's contradictions when it comes to the Adventureverse over the last few years. Toei (in the Adventureverse): Guys, your childhood can't last forever, you need to grow up and move on from Digimon Adventure. Also Toei: *refuses to move on from Digimon Adventure, makes a 6-OVA-and-a-live-action-stage-play sequel series, two sequel movies and a Reboot*
Cant believe they made a live action, let alone an actually good one (also just subscribed, but have been watching for a long time-thank you for helping me (and likely many others) reconnect with digimon in the modern day)
I watched a few anime live action movies and stages (recorded), they had good ones and bad ones, but the reason they're making those is to prove how much fame that one particular anime has accomplished. For example, Digimon, Naruto, Detective Conan/Case Close, ONE-PIECE, and upcoming SPYxFAMILY live action, etc. Especially, they always have audience that supports them.
This is really impressive and cool looking in my opinion. I come from Europe and here we have a lot of classic puppetry formats in television and movies. It's an art form that very great way to bring stories to life and is neat because with the puppeteers transfering their performance onto the puppets your imagination gets inspired into the atmosphere.
Only found out about the stage performance last year because of Joe's actor. Joe's actor was in Kamen Rider Revice as Kamen Rider Demons/Kadota Hiromi 😍
I literally found out about this because I fell into a rabbit hole trying to find stuff Junya Komatsu was in 🤣 He's currently starring in a run of Romeo and Juliet as Paris... and before that he was Tamaki in the Ouran stage plays. He's super talented for sure.. and handsome to boot 😍
really love the stage play! i just found out about it last year and i didn’t really expect it to be good or anything but wow it’s actually really enjoyable. i feel like it’s more canon than anything in tri. and i adore the puppets, they look cute and at first i thought it would look weird with the puppeteers were visible but it didn’t look too jarring. i think digimon fans especially adventure fans need to check this stage out! (i think someone shared the english subtitles link on tumblr, that’s where i got it) and also for me the casting were really great too, i thought it was a little bit weird in the promotional photoshoot but they look nice in stage, even taichi’s hair didn’t look too unrealistic lol
One of the reason why 2.5D stage plays never reach international fans radar is language barrier. as most of the DVD & Blu-Ray are sold without subtitles and are usually priced quite expensive (I bought one before)

Unfortunately, localizers are people that don't know the language, pose as geeks and fans with zero knowledge of the IP. Also when it comes to translations and not respecting the source material, they just can't even do that at all. Fansubs take it more seriously. If it came down to proving and showing proof that you really respect the original material, I would say that should be a requirement, not just for Japan but also for other countries that make their own thing. (Because Americans are for the most part clueless consumers these days)

i was jokeing about a live action show of digimon just yesterday but i never knew it was real wish i knew and saw it in time i wish i could go back in time just to see this
I really love the stage play. I've been wanting to watch it for a while but never found the subbed version. Now finally finding it, I was able to enjoy it fully! With some of the actors being actors I know and love makes me love it even more! Altho I was slightly disappointed with the final fight since the puppets were so big and complicated, making the action slow. Don't get me wrong, they're beautiful, just too big to make a nice fight scene. I still enjoyed the play with all my digimon-filled heart! It just makes me want a live action Digimon so much more and I hope that one day, they'll be able to do just that.
I'd say this actually covers the topic of moving forward even better than Last Evolution Kizuna, because the one thing Kizuna does is gives an ending that effectively says 'to move forward, you must be prepared to lose everything'. Kizuna intentionally gut-punches anyone who was hoping for it to allow for the ending of 02. Right now, the way canon is at the moment (assuming Kizuna is still canon), the ending of 02 can't happen. And it encourages an idea that everyone else will lose their partners in time (at the moment it's just Yamato and Taichi). What was the point? Who benefits from this? Nobody.
Yeah, but considering that the moral of the story is broken unless Taichi and Yamato also face losing their partners, I kinda get it. That being said, I'd like to be a follow-up story that allows them to reunite in some way. Just because they had to leave, doesn't mean they have to stay gone.

It really sucks, because I've always enjoyed her as a character (and her being forced down the path of tradition, something she was always uncomfortable about, makes her feel all the more tragic). Also of note, Piyomon's entire line always gets screwed over for animation, so maybe they bumped off Piyomon off-screen to avoid having to animate her. Seriously, whoever designed Birdramon screwed over a good concept by making her too complicated (and kinda boring), so she got none of the budget.

Digimon, for all its toy commercial promotion was in heart a coming of age story. So if you would've told me they adapted it into a stage play, I wouldn't scoff at it for being impossible.
Japan always had a Live action Stage play of some Animes and even tokusatsu They even got a live action of Fuuto PI which is a sequel to Kamen Rider W which is a live action tokusatsu show in the One Piece Universal Studio Theme park They always had a Live Action One Piece stage show their waaaaay before Netflix thought of making live action one
It's sad though. People don't know about tokusatsu but when they see it they call it Power Rangers. When I showed a clip of W pre cameo to a girl at game stop she was amazed by the suit design and the character himself. I'm hoping Kamen Rider will get the same attention as main stream anime soon.
I am surprised Bandai hasn't tried a live action film yet. If Sonic and Pokémon got successful ones, so can this franchise. Some elements make this idea even more fitting: Humans having as much importance as the humans, more focus on drama compared to similar series, action actually taking place on Earth, etc...
i fogot about this but i certianlly e\enjyed it when i saw it on youtube. and the whole preformance was incredible im glad they used the pupets for the digimon makes it feel more alive and the dark version of brave heart was also a treat

My wish was that Last Evolution Kizuna never existed and we instead got a second installment of TRI starring the 02 kids resolving the Dark Gennai plotline and explaining the Digimon Emperor fakeout because everything involved with that had me hooked, ESPECIALLY Imperialdramon's part in the overarching plot or whether or not that was also a pretender.
I think digimon is cooler than the pokemon live action. I love big monsters like greymon i wish i had a digimon as a kid and i love the digimon stuff toy from japan.
in my childhood I ship Taichi and Sora, but when I rewatched the series as an adult I'm really shock to find that its YamatoXSora🤦♂️ and Taichi has a siscon and Hikari has a brocon🤦♂️

TRI series doesn't have a permanent loss of partner digimon for the main cast but the story itself is a mess, while Last Evolution Kizuna is exactly what you feared BUT the producer also said that the ending of 02 (everyone lives with their partner) is still valid, which IMO makes it somewhat pointless to shed tear over the whole conflict.
Yeah, I think a Live Action stage show is proof of how an anime reaches the big time. And hearing the story of this play, I wish this had been animated because it sounds Awesome!
I think if you regard the Digimon Tri films as canon, this should be considered canon too! Some people don't see Tri as canon but I don't know how you argue it isn't.

I think if you regard the Digimon Tri films as canon, this should be considered canon too! Some people don't see Tri as canon but I don't know how you argue it isn't.
