I didn't know this existed until I was showing a friend the Digimon franchise. I think I pretty much agree with most of what you said. Like, I do like Minami and her partner. I think Seasarmon really paved the way for Aoi and her Labramon in Survive, but the Gulfmon fight was really anticlimactic.
At this point I've pretty much watched every Digimon film to date, with the ones from Digimon Savers being the one I have a hard time watching, because it's so dystopian and eerie that it feels akin to Silent Hill, despite not being so. You are initialed to your opinion and I do agree with you about the ultimates against a mega that can take down a ultra but besides that I loved the film because it was unique and I loved all kinds of digimon as a kid ... well except for fusion that was bad
Mephistomon is related to the emo pizza crust man, so silly nonsense is destined to screw him over, whenever its barely holding up against three Champions (and getting blown up by a deus ex machina laser), getting your satanic chanting negated by a weirdo being the Heavenly Buddha with school text books, or getting violently mauled by a killer bat rabbit in the last 2-3 minutes of the episode.

I would just like to add that at the time, an article about this spawn was published in one of the chapters of shonen jump dedicated to Digimon, which talked about "The return of Omegamon/Ominimon who fought against Apocalomon in Digimon Adventuri". Yes, it's true that Omegamon never fought against Apocalomon in Adventuri of 99, plus Wargreymon and Metal Garurumon fought against Apocalomon in Adventuri and Omegamon is the fusion of the 2. So this is an official confirmation that this Omegamon/ Ominimon is from Tai and Matt who traveled to the universe of Digimon Tamers chasing Mephismon.
oddly enough, this movie might actually be semi-cannon because Kai (Takato's cousin) actually makes an appearance in the final arc of the show and yeah, this move is a lot more like the Golden Digimentals movie of 02 (both take place around the middle of their shows), whereaa the next movie, Runaway Locomon, is very much so the post-ending epilogue movie for Tamers just like Revenge of Diablomon was for 02

I remember catching this movie back in the day when Jetix would show lots of digimon series or movies way back when which was fitting given i believe they were going through the tamers saga at the time
To me, this was the better of the two Tamers movie. I wasn't nearly as thrilled with Runaway Locomon. Though Runaway Locomon wasn't particularly bad. It's not flawless. I do think the ending was rushed, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. I watched all of these movies when they came out on Toon Disney's Jetix. Back then, you either watched anime dubbed on network television or not at all. I knew these movies existed through forums and I was psyched to finally get to see all of them. I just sort of figured it was a member of the Royal Knights of the Tamers' universe.
Digimon size being inconsistent weirdly happens all of the time like Wargreymon is supposed to be relatively human size in adventure but in Our War Game he's freaking huge like 20-30ft for some reason same for when he shows up in Xros Wars
I remember seeing this movie and need to see it again, but it was because of this film and how Tri ended that now I head cannon that if your name is Mei or a variation of the name, your chance of survival is a good as a Leomon or any lion based Digimon surviving.
I started from finding Fusion, then last year I started from the beginning, Up to a re-watch through Fusion, holy cow is there a lot of references to all five shows before, even the silhouettes from the first minute in the 1st episode. I saw both Tamer movies just today. Melissa Fahn does a great job: I've found some incorrect information she started from Adventure, but she deputed as Rika in Tamers, narrator for Frontiers (until the last 8 episodes where Bokomons actor replaced her, makes sense if Melissa got sick around the time she was needed to record those lines), Kristy in Data squad, and to my surprise, Nene in Fusion, and Angie (Fusion) and Yoshino (Data squad) share the same voice actor. If I had to pick a favourite character: Rika, tied with Ruby and Velvet in RWBY.
Non-committal is a good way to describe how Bandai treats everything tbh. It's really frustrating. There's always something that might make things difficult if they say 'yes, this is as you say it is', so they choose to leave things as vague as ever. For example, nobody from Bandai is willing to commit that Ryo from Tamers is actually from the Adventure universe, even though there's three games that say he is. Also of note, is this the first time Bandai recycled the work of Mamoru Hosoda without him being part of the team?
As someone who dealt with the idea of shared universe with modern Kamen Rider but notice obvious inconsistencies, it's probably not surprising to see from Bandai at all XD
On a side note, I found it weird that the events of Digimon Adventure 01 & 02 (and possibly everything else in the Adventure canon) were basically nothing more than TV shows/sitcoms(?) in the universe of Digimon Season 3.
I remember this movie definitely did see it on cable for the first time around 05 or 06 .. was a lil confused on the story cuz I was a kid but I did think about like how it reminded me of Digimon world 3 in PS1 but only saw this movie once 😭
Considering 2020 showed us a consistent Omnimon size and is consistent with this version there's even more evidence now that yes that was Tai and Matt's Omnimon especially since the Royal Knight Omnimon has been also connected to their Omnimon thanks to 2020 giving him the ability to use all recover something the Royal Knight version can only do
I personally really want Tamers to get a tri treatment because I love Tamers it was so much more mature and when I was younger had a huge crush on Rika as well as Renamon was my favorite digimon post adventure 01 and 02
Oh! I remember this movie. And yeah, it is kind of annoying how it seems like the Digimon movies all have similar plotlines but I guess if it's not broke why fix it.
If I'm being real, I feel like a lot of Tri's major plot was recycled from this very movie. Like, we literally got this girl and her Labramon who basically serve a similar role to what Meiko and Meicoomon ended up serving, the Labramon's nickname was literally "Mei" as well! Well, in the original Japanese version, I can't speak for the dub. We even got the main villain who's a fragment of Apocalymon from Adventure, just like Meicoomon was. We even got the very same Omegamon from Adventure in this film. Tri really felt like a more drawn out, more "dramatic" version of this short film.
That's literally right, as they also complained about the ternary code plot of Digimon Word 2 and Digimon Battle Terminal. Although TRI also had a plot that Yggdrasil lost control of a random alternate universe RK group, that JESmon was a rebel RK that fled to the Adventuri universe, and that the Alphamon that appeared in TRI was hunting Digimon Holy Knight type. But that part of the Plot was sent to the trash because Toei fired all the TRI Staff in the middle of production as they asked for more money to use in animation, since Toei gave an extremely limited budget. The result was that Toei put a new Staff to work on TRI IN THE HALF OF THE SERIES who knew absolutely nothing about the original plot and so they changed everything.
I mean, Digimon Tamers already had a multiverse crossover when Ryo appeared. Mind you, American and Canadian kids didn't understand that before they learned a whole bunch of digimon games never came here, as I did.
This movie released before Ryo was introduced into the show- this film released in July 2001, Ryo didn't appear until October; and Brave Tamer, which hard confirmed there was a multiverse in place and that the Ryo in Tamers was the same person as the one from the Adventure-tied Wonderswan games and not just a recycled character design didn't come out until December.
So the interesting thing about this crossover idea is how Tri could foreshadow parts of it. In Kizuna we see Agumon and Gabumon "disappear", I highly doubt they died in any way, as we actually have an idea of what happens to partner Digimon already in Tri. The four sovereigns went on to work for Homeostasis to maintain balance in the Digital Worlds after leaving their partners. I'm assuming Agumon and Gabumon will go through the same path as the sovereigns did, and will now be put in positions of protecting the balance. This could explain why Omegamon isn't seen with Tai or Matt, or why it's focused on keeping Digital Worlds in other dimensions safe. This could also foreshadow the buildup of the Royal Knights within the Adventure-verse. And who knows, maybe Tamer's Gallantmon can join the group one day.
I felt like with the "Card Slash/Digimodify", it was showing off more cards, like the Aero-Wing vs Hyper-Wing and such. Beyond that, this could take place between Mihiramon appearing and the gang going to the Digital World. There is some time jumps between Deva attacks, even if it's like a few days, but that could be extended to two weeks, a time frame for this movie to squeeze in. But that's just my Headcanon. Anyways, I enjoyed this movie. Was it amazing? I mean... it didn't showcase anything new, except for the team attack, but beyond that... Mephistomon felt more like a cunning threat than a powerful one. Its Digivolution to Gulfmon kinda was just setup for the Matrix Digivolutions to match the increase in power. I do agree that Takato and Omnimon should have gotten a couple more lines together, but all in all, it's a non-insulting movie that gives new locations for them to interact with. Plus, the picture of them in swimwear was nice. Even Rita smiled, which is rare all things considered.
Honestly i really likedthe vpets looked like a low budget 3d labramon model, and then have at least one of it actually be labramon was really fun, like idk it just tickled my brain pretty nicely
The lost pet becoming or being replaced by a digimon isn't new it was in the original digimon one shot story so sadly Meicoomon and labramon weren't the first ones to die twice before there tamer/owner/partner sadly
"Mei" means little sister in Chinese but it also means plum. You may hear it often to refer to a little girl sometimes also. Almost similarly it means bud or sprout in Japanese.
After watching the previous digimon movies leading up to this one, this movie is a bit of a let down just due to the overall rushed feeling of it and I feel like nothing quite as substantial as the previous movies happened. Overall, I still felt the nostalgia and liked the movie. Digimon is still Digimon after all
I believe "Battle of Adventures" takes place after episode 18 where Renamon first digivolves to her ultimate level. I don't think this is Tai and Matt's Omnimon, he has the exact same voice but that doesn't make him the same character from the adventure universe. The Meramon Takato and his friends meet in the digital has the same voice as the Meramon from season 1, but their both different characters. I also don't think Apocalymon/Mephistomon is the same character from the adventure universe, we already know that the only surviving fragment of adventure Apocalymon went on to infected Meicoomon's digi-egg.
6:23 Was the owner of the virtual pet company a real person that Mephismon killed and replaced or did Mephismon create a whole false identity and company by altering the digital records in the companies?
There wasn't really a time placement for when Mephismon escaped the subspace so for all we know the latter might be true but thinking on it, I guess the former would be more realistic and he implanted a virus code into the mass produced V-Pets while Minami carried with her the original that had a vaccine program.
I did watch them b4 cuz it has released in my country in form of DVDs. My conclusion is , if it doesn't come to the west, most likely it is not that good / well received. A lot of story turns out to be pretty bland compare to their predecessors or the original series, like the Our War Game vs the Ouroboromon return movie
The reason why Omnimon but Mephismon was able to leave the network, is the same reason Armaggedemon couldn’t leave the network and split its data. Is te amount of data. 👍🏻
I rewatched Tamers recently sorted by their original Japanese release dates, and this special popped up before they even reached ultimate level in the main show... I was rather shocked how eager they were to spoil the new forms, and it made me question if maybe I shouldn't have watched it by release date order? :/ Minor !Spoiler Warning! rant ahead for Tri and the 2020 reboot but... It seems to me that Japan has an eagerness to show off new forms as soon as possible, and it becomes especially apparent whenever we watch any reboot to the series, like in Tri where all their partners were reset with no memories, but they very quickly get back to their mega levels making you question why they did that little reboot to begin with? or how in the 2020 reboot, Omegamon literally appears in the second episode... they just have no respect for the level of progress in the series, like they don't care it's a major game mechanic of the original v-pets to start over when your Digimon dies, it's just like Dragon Ball Z's 'Super Saiyan bargain sale' all over again, just handing out unearned transformations left and right... rant over... :/
Here’s the basic outline. -Original 5 Digidestined go to the digital world. -They fight an evil, one Digimon dies and the rest become the Four Sovereigns. -The evil is sealed behind the Wall of Fire -The events of the pilot episode happen, resulting in the next 8 digidestined. -Digimon Adventure happens -The Wonder Swan games happen, resulting in Ryo being thrown through dimensions and Ken being infected with the Dark Spore -Our War Game happens, creating Digidestined worldwide - The last two events could possibly be swapped or happen simultaneously -The Digimon Emperor arc of Adventure 02 happens -The second generation of Digidestined are kidnapped by Wendigomon, initiating Hurricane Touchdown/Golden Digimentals -The Dark Spore arc of Adventure 02 happens, stopping before the epilogue -Revenge of Diaboromon happens, resulting in the beginning of Tai’s arc for Tri. -Digimon Tri. happens -02 The Beginning happens -To Sora and Digimon Kizuna happen -The epilogue of Adventure 02 happens The back end I don’t know for certain as I have yet to see 02 The Beginning, and starting with Tri. has been difficult to iron out carry over between movies, but 02’s epilogue *is* for sure the last thing. If you have a more specific question, then ask away!

Yes, everything indicates that this is the original Labramon of the multiverse. Even the profile of labramon in the Reference Book said that nobody knows much about where he saw it, but what is known is that he is an Artificial Digimon created to be a virtual pet. It's basically the story of the labramon in the movie, so everything indicates that the data for the first labramon comes from what appears in the movie.
@@thedigiknow I didn't even know it was on Hulu until a few days ago. I only knew about the Microsoft store. Was it always on Hulu? I feel like they do a very bad job in advertising anything about Digimon. It's like they want it to fail or something.

This is one of those movies you are better off forgetting it ever got made because it does Gulfmon super dirty
I annually come back to this and the Digimon Movie for their summertime vibes.
On a side note, I found it weird that the events of Digimon Adventure 01 & 02 (and possibly everything else in the Adventure canon) were basically nothing more than TV shows/sitcoms(?) in the universe of Digimon Season 3.
Thank you I did not know and this is my fav season. Now to hunt it down and watch!
I hope that we will see Tamers again, for me it the best season with its dark themes and story!
I remember this movie definitely did see it on cable for the first time around 05 or 06 .. was a lil confused on the story cuz I was a kid but I did think about like how it reminded me of Digimon world 3 in PS1 but only saw this movie once 😭
I remember this one
I... I don't even know this exists. what? Imma go look for it rn
I vaugly remember this. Bits and pieces, but I def forget about it
We know all digimon season are in a multiverse since the third part of digimon xors wars. (it's called digimon fusion in the us/canada i think)
I saw all of these movies that got stealth dubs. Also X-Evolution.
I've seen this movie actually, I think I was just randomly looking for a digimon movie to watch and it was pretty good
7:32 leomon:my death was better
I vaguely recall this movie but I don't ever recall Omnimon appearing, huh.
Thanks again for this vidéo and your work. Digidestined forever!
Even Rita smiled, which is rare all things considered.
shit i remember this movie, but i dont remember the opening scene wth omnomon lol
I just found this film recently actually, I was watching it and i was like.... WHAT???? when does THIS take place?
Okay I don't think I knew this movie existed.
Honestly i really likedthe vpets looked like a low budget 3d labramon model, and then have at least one of it actually be labramon was really fun, like idk it just tickled my brain pretty nicely
Hey I've got this recorded on tape. Man, I really need to burn it to a DVD.
Holy shit, I def watched this movie as a kid (subbed), thought it was pretty nice, but wow I don't remember that Omnimon intro part AT ALL.
That’s definitely not tai and Matt omnimon but a RK omnimon. With that said tokato gallantmon is not RK too
The problem with digimon movies is it’s not accessible anywhere aside from the digimon 2000 movie…
as short the battle was, Gulfmon is just nice nod/reference to venom vamdemon fight in Adventure.
Oh yeah, I found this one and watched it. I forgot about Omnimon and Apocalymon tbh 💀
The weird part is takato had the gold with symbols digivice so that was prob a sequal or i think he had the gold one on runaway locomon
I grew up with this movie, it would come on Toon Disney
Same here
The lost pet becoming or being replaced by a digimon isn't new it was in the original digimon one shot story so sadly Meicoomon and labramon weren't the first ones to die twice before there tamer/owner/partner sadly
3:50 If he had also had a digimon, what would it have been?
"Mei" means little sister in Chinese but it also means plum. You may hear it often to refer to a little girl sometimes also. Almost similarly it means bud or sprout in Japanese.
The bigger the Omnimon the better!
After watching the previous digimon movies leading up to this one, this movie is a bit of a let down just due to the overall rushed feeling of it and I feel like nothing quite as substantial as the previous movies happened. Overall, I still felt the nostalgia and liked the movie. Digimon is still Digimon after all
Yeah it’s a weird one! It’s long but also kinda rushed?
I believe "Battle of Adventures" takes place after episode 18 where Renamon first digivolves to her ultimate level.
I don't think this is Tai and Matt's Omnimon, he has the exact same voice but that doesn't make him the same character from the adventure universe. The Meramon Takato and his friends meet in the digital has the same voice as the Meramon from season 1, but their both different characters. I also don't think Apocalymon/Mephistomon is the same character from the adventure universe, we already know that the only surviving fragment of adventure Apocalymon went on to infected Meicoomon's digi-egg.
This Omnimon could be the Omnimon apart of the Royal Knights.
Minor !Spoiler Warning! rant ahead for Tri and the 2020 reboot but...
I thought it was a fever dream
I see you a digimon lover like myself, I wanna ask something did you ever play the MMORPG game Digimon Masters Online ?
The idea that adventure series was just a brand in tamers was the only thing I didn’t like about tamers
Hey can you please explain adventure
Timeline because some stuff is confusing but it would also be nice
Here’s the basic outline.
-Original 5 Digidestined go to the digital world.
-They fight an evil, one Digimon dies and the rest become the Four Sovereigns.
-The evil is sealed behind the Wall of Fire
-The events of the pilot episode happen, resulting in the next 8 digidestined.
-Digimon Adventure happens
-The Wonder Swan games happen, resulting in Ryo being thrown through dimensions and Ken being infected with the Dark Spore
-Our War Game happens, creating Digidestined worldwide
- The last two events could possibly be swapped or happen simultaneously
-The Digimon Emperor arc of Adventure 02 happens
-The second generation of Digidestined are kidnapped by Wendigomon, initiating Hurricane Touchdown/Golden Digimentals
-The Dark Spore arc of Adventure 02 happens, stopping before the epilogue
-Revenge of Diaboromon happens, resulting in the beginning of Tai’s arc for Tri.
-Digimon Tri. happens
-02 The Beginning happens
-To Sora and Digimon Kizuna happen
-The epilogue of Adventure 02 happens
The back end I don’t know for certain as I have yet to see 02 The Beginning, and starting with Tri. has been difficult to iron out carry over between movies, but 02’s epilogue *is* for sure the last thing. If you have a more specific question, then ask away!
I hated how short the tamers movies were
This one is actually the longest of all the individual Digimon movies.
Same here but I still like them when I was a kid
Its funny if you consider that Tamers actually has more in common with the OG Digimon Games than Digimon Adventure.
8:16 bro, thats Moltres
lmao true

3:02 original origin of Labradomon?
Yes, everything indicates that this is the original Labramon of the multiverse. Even the profile of labramon in the Reference Book said that nobody knows much about where he saw it, but what is known is that he is an Artificial Digimon created to be a virtual pet. It's basically the story of the labramon in the movie, so everything indicates that the data for the first labramon comes from what appears in the movie.
Paomon and xiaomon are stated to be made in China which is near Okinawa

Are you watching the Adventure 2020 dub?
I don't have access to Hulu but I bought about 12 episodes on the Microsoft Store! I like it.
@@thedigiknow I didn't even know it was on Hulu until a few days ago. I only knew about the Microsoft store. Was it always on Hulu? I feel like they do a very bad job in advertising anything about Digimon. It's like they want it to fail or something.
I like how the Blu-Rays the dub is using ironed out a lotta jank in the Sora episodes sans the final one. Hell, they fixed Mamemon freefall for the Blu-Ray.
@@skip031890nah it came to Hulu later
wait… Ninja Turtles don’t exist in New York❔❔❔❔❔ I’m not sure what you’re getting at here❔❓❔ 🐢 🧪 🥷🏻
It could just be a dub thing, but in addition to the alternate dimension thing, Omnimon calls the Tamers "digidestined". Just sayin'.
Whatttttt
Wait Spiderman and the TMNT don't really live in NYC?! 😢
Guilmon looks like a pitbull with winged ears
