"Ham radio's still a thing?" says the guy that put a film camera on the tripod. The irony was not lost. LOLOL

I just bought this (the UHF version), somewhat skeptical that it would be able to handle my ATAS120 screwdriver antenna but it is doing great and very stable. I have placed it on some uneven ground and the adjustability of the legs is pretty crucial on keeping the antenna straight. So far, very pleased with the tripod. Excellent video. 73

Saw this antenna tripod from HOA Ham. Very nice setup. Been debating this or the Wolf River Coil’s larger tripod base. FYI - On Amazon, I believe the 3/8 24 is the newer version, the UHF is the older version.

Yes your right on the versions, but it has both in the new version.

Good video Chuck and great review. You better think about straightening out Tony and get him on board with Ham Radio. That was funny Chuck, bringing in Tony. Thank you for sharing. Looks like a great Tripod.

@@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures I love your channel, you have got the best camera in the business. Totally humble, unlike me the radio big mouth. Carry on what you’re doing. It’s great

I have the V1 of it and it's great. I'm hoping they sell the 3/8-24 adapter separately so I can "upgrade" my old unit. Now if I can only find something like a collapsible (maybe fiberglass) non-conductive "thing" with a 3/8-24 thread on one end so I can use it to hold up a counterpoise or wire. That would replace the 4 foot long fence post many people use to hold the end of a 49:1 EFHW or the counterpoise on a Buddistick PRO.

Very pretty tripod Chuck, looks tacticool. My concern is plastic build holding up during multiple hikes & the sun weakening leg/base connectors when left outside during activations. Thanks for video!

There isn't much plastic just the bushings in the legs and I suspect it is nylon, thanks for the comment Javi!

    Hi Chuck,
I first saw the MK2 tripod on HOA Ham's channel. He showed that you can use banana plugs that fit those ring terminals to connect up radials. Have a safe and Happy New Year. 73 WJ3U
