I built a 4x4 house truck at 17 and have traveled for 5 years all over the west and Canada. It's been a money pit but I wouldn't trade it for the world. You really put it well at the end, it's far less about the vehicle than it is about the journey: experiences > money
Nice build. There is so much freedom in being able to travel almost anywhere with your rolling "home." This is the way to enjoy life. Thanks for the video, and safe travels to you.
Cool Stepvan build! I wanted the recreational capability with mine but went ahead and just built it for doing side work. I love Stepvans though. They’re so underrated. Thanks for sharing!
I so wish that I could live this way, I lived in a 22ft Class C RV for 3 years, almost 20 years ago, now I'm intrigued by these van conversions. Great tour. Thanks.
What a well-thought out and well-done build! If he painted that thing plain white and laid the bikes down on the roof, he could really park anywhere. Or some people have even made fake but official looking company logos.
Wow way way cool 😎 just watched a 400k sprinter build video that I wouldn't trade my diy old Ford van build that I did myself for. Yours compared to this is way nicer I think. Too much metal in theres . I wouldn't doubt thier toilet seat isent aluminun also. I'd love to come across one of these baby's. You got lucky. I've never seen one like yours. Doesn't look all top heavy like thiers and it has nice clearance like my van. Way nice 👌 Yes van building is way excitingly fun I agree .
Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I don't think it's a powerstroke engine. International helped Ford design and build the 7.3 Powerstroke , however International does not use that exact same engine in it's vehicles like School Buses and medium duty trucks like this one. They use a 7.3 Liter Diesel engine, and it's very similar in design to a powerstroke but it's not exactly a powerstroke. It's technically a DT 466.
What spoke to me about the build, was the care that went into wiring the charging system in the back. So many of these look like a rat's nest, I assume because 'no one's going to see it'. That suggests that other hidden parts are also carefully constructed, so I expect that the back end of the truck should be trouble free. Or at least, easy to fix.
Driving with just a pinky, on a road with other cars - brilliant. One of the problems with a turning knob attached to the steering wheel is that nothing good happens to you if you're thrown forward for any reason, like braking hard because some ( ) driving with a pinky swerved into your lane. A cup holder test? Was a hot water heater mentioned?
Nice video and very thought out build on the step van. I enjoyed the throw back clips too haha. I'm subscribed. I noticed you had some JDM reviews too looking forward to checking them out. I have a JDM Isuzu Elf camper that I'm rebuilding at the moment so this build was some good inspiration to get back at it.
The 7.3 is not a rocket ship but it runs forever with plenty of power if taken care of properly. Have 200k on mine only issue has been a new water pump. Spinner on the wheel is a game changer most people have no idea why.
This msg is for the owner who I hope someone here knows personally. Please move your automative chemicals outside your van. Those vapors WILL give you cancer at worst case and at the minimum give your pulmonary issues. Please pass this along to him. I say move them to the roof
Just bought one for 1800.00 has a bad head gasket it's a 1993 idi. I bought a f350 same year 7.3idi with 60,000 miles going to swap the motor in it and rebuild the original. It's a 18ft box? Not sure but was told that.
Don’t know what rock you’ve been under but I’ll take the 6 cylinder 24 valve Cummings over a Powerjoke any day. Cummings with Allison tranny is the million mile combo. The Powerjoke is only good for 350 to 400k before they need to be rebuilt
Curious, the dashboard indicated a Duramax. Which is also good diesel. And frequently paired with an Allison. Just curious. Did they do a diesel swap? That would better explain the premium price tag.
In medium and heavy duty trucks you can find just about any combination of engine and transmission. He says it has a powerstroke but more than likely it's the same engine International used in their School buses and medium duty trucks which is a 7.3 L DT 466. Once you get beyond pickup trucks diesel engines you get into the SAE bellhousing , you have different numbers of SAE bell housing like #1 , #2 etc etc. This common design makes it very easy to bolt up virtually any commercial type transmission to any engine with an SAE bellhousing.
makes me want to leave even more... but i don't have any money saved, nor van to build a RV camper from :( the only thing I have for now is my tiny car, and i'm already kinda building it to be a week-end home for when i want to leave home
It's not a powerstroke, that's why you feel it's slow powerstroke would have a turbo installed, this van has no turbo... Turbos came along in the next year, '99 I think.
"...and this is our utensils drawer where we keep all our utensils when we are not using our utensils..." Suggestions: * work from a script * rehearse * edit ruthlessly.
Sad for a car channel guy doesn't know about commercial vehicles... Not a power stroke it's a t444e same engine block with slightly different cooling... The hours on that are super high and about 50percent of commercial vehicles have a hour counter no you don't want a Allison in everything that's a at545 which is a shit transmission lol doesn't have a locking converter and that's not what you want..and no it's not a box truck...
DIDNT KNOW YOU WERE GONNA MAKE ME CRY. Love you ZP, so happy we made it work to meet up :) we’ll be back, don’t worry! Or we’ll see you out west ❤️
Yea hey can you post the link to your water intake, and your water heater
@@Chrissy_Onye it’s a dometic dual water heater (propane&electric). And what do you mean water intake?
I work at utilimaster, which is the company the made the truck, and it’s awesome seeing someone rebuilding one as a home!!
Amy i need your contact for insight on parts
Do y’all get employee discounts? I’m not fixing to beg for you to help me just curious.
Where is the cigarette lighter fuse on a 2021 ford e450 p1000
This channel is so underrated. Super professional editing. I feel like also the way you talk is like very professional sounding.
Underrated by whom? You mean unknown?
Based on this example, the channel is over-rated...

Howd you make money?
Nice build. There is so much freedom in being able to travel almost anywhere with your rolling "home." This is the way to enjoy life. Thanks for the video, and safe travels to you.

Excellent build, Excellent video. I'm 59 and still stay in touch with a buddy I met when I was nine.
Your 59? Im 5’9’ lol 😂

Toilet and shower are separate, I absolutely love this. They look so happy. ❤
I love how you get to smell the bathroom being it’s the only thing sealed to the cab
Well done dude. The mechanical setup is superb!

Well done on the VWT. The bumper art is spot on. Great build man.
I'm not the sentimental type but the outro brought a tear to my eye. Happy journey.
Amazing dude! So cool sharing the personal side with your friends.
I want to do this with a short bus and make my own cozy camper thing.
Awe!!! Cute video of you and your ‘ol homeboy. Rad rig too!!❤❤❤
Really nice build. Wonderful toilet space.
Great video! The transmission in that is amazing I’ve driven a truck with an Allison Transmission they solid .
What a well-thought out and well-done build! If he painted that thing plain white and laid the bikes down on the roof, he could really park anywhere. Or some people have even made fake but official looking company logos.
That’s exactly what I want to do! The black stripe was already on the truck, but I’d love to make it as stealth as possible eventually.
so cool seeing the old video of you
My top is also filthy. Thats real nomad life bro. Love it. Love the build.
One of the best I have watched so far
My homie is youtube famous now 😩🔥🤰
And I love the color money green yall keep enjoying life and be safe and may God continue to bless the both of you
Love seeing your friendship.
I’m converting a box van right now.
I’m a car guy first, so it’s a gonna be a little different than the norm.
I love the layout. Quite ingenious.

Much better engine blue international 7.3 are bulletproof!
flank the sides of the solor panels with the thick PVC pipe and you can store stud in it.
The precious video at the end 💕

Awesome! My favorite part is when his girlfriend pops out the back and they he shuts the door and locks her up!
thats how id feel. cuz its so big id b scred to drive it. but i do want/need one. its my dream....

Damn that's a freaking sick setup.
They have an awesome Step Van! 👍❤️
That was mad funny when he shut the back doors while his girl was talking and locked them with the padlock.
Fantastic job on the conversion!
Good friend for ever
Seems there was one thing in the back that was exciting.

@@ShootingCars hell yeah I would love too! Will do. As soon as it warms up a little more I'm going to finish up. Hoping late spring..
Trying to start my 1969 step van
You showed that a second fuel tank was installed.. I was hoping to hear what kind of MPGs you get with that Step Van !
Very cozy!

I'm curious what kind of fuel mileage you get with the 7.3???
❤❤❤❤👏 🙌 👌 Awesome, work, Happy Travels! Thanks for Sharing! Subbed 😉
Sags in the rear. Might to think upgrading the suspension.
Bruh, I would totally drive one of these!
That is cool my friend.
This build is awesome.
Nice build! Any trouble getting insurance?

Insulation. Are there fumes when they are heated?
Nice bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Yall did that I love
More knobs in hand? 😀

Your steering knob is mounted inside out. Put the bolt on the interior of the wheel.

Is it safe to leave propane tank exposed on the back of the truck?
How cool I was born in 1998 September 7th
Cool truck! Do you still have it?
the van will handle better if you replace the rear springs, and have heavy duty installed
Curious, the dashboard indicated a Duramax. Which is also good diesel. And frequently paired with an Allison. Just curious. Did they do a diesel swap? That would better explain the premium price tag.

Awesome vehicle
Oh man that back door being locked by solely a master lock is sketchy! Those things are very easy to get open.
Very very cool truck

Are you that actor from the movie The Whale???
Where did you route the vent?
Allison was owned by GM, until 2007.
It’s not a “Power Stroke” lol it’s an international T444E lol!!!! Yes it’s the same 98.99% but “Power Stroker” is a Ford name
Im impressed that you have a girlfriend, their is someone for everyone
Friggin epic

Doesnt need a dot inspection

Is this a 503ft truck or a 14ft, or a 7ft truck? No one ever thinks to state how long there step van/box truck is! smh
bro sad he wants more knobs in his hand
TEN HUN!!!!!!!!!
Star Wars 👍
Just put 4bd1 isuzu diesel engine and put , 4bE1 Isuzu transmission for power and torque
So cool
I wish I had a drivers license :)

Diesel consumption 10 mpg...maybe...
Your not off grid. You buy food, fuel etc. a
