Good comment, except the bacteria that causes Legionnaire's disease multiplies in water that is not kept a certain high temperature or cold enough. It is commonly found in municipal water, too, so likely in his system. In other words, by allowing hot water to feed back into the fresh water tank, he is warming it enough to encourage the bacteria to multiply, most likely. The Center for Disease Control has info on safe water temperatures and preventing Legionnaire's disease.
I'll look again but I think he said he had a one micron filter and UV. "For most, one micron is enough. It is estimated that this size of filter will remove 99.9% of all bacteria from water. If your water supply has already been treated with chlorine then a lot of these bacteria will no longer be present in the water anyway, and the filtration is more effective for heavy metals and other materials."
@Southern Note, thanks, good point on the filter and UV light - as long as it's for the shower and dishwashing water, too, because people have inhaled the bacteria during those activities.
@@wownewstome6123 I think you may be over thinking that specific issue. He mentioned he has a 75 gallon water tank, a little bit of warm water (not even a gallons worth) put into such a large tank isn't going to impact the temp enough to cause problems
@Q. E. D., in the end, he may be doing just fine. My concerns: it's a monkey see, monkey do world, but people may miss his extra steps, such as the UV light. Also, when filters remove the disinfectants, such as chlorine, then bacteria can multiply unhindered. Plus, I just mentioned **one of the many** biological contaminants that can cause health issues.
Absolutely one of the best layouts and builds I've seen. Only makes sense that it was built on an Ambulance frame, already purpose built for the road and you know it is ready to take a pounding. FREEDOM -- exactly what you have created! Congratulations!

It’s a great idea because they are designed to conserve space and have lots of storage. Your build is both simplistic and beautiful. I am so impressed. This setup he has done to the Yellowstone park ambulance is exactly the same as a nuclear submarine. It’s only limitation is the amount of food it caries. One thing to watch out for on a retired ambulance, is hours on the engine. While mileage sounds good in a lot of cases, you don't realize how often they sit and idle for hours on end. Granted, they are designed to do this to a degree, and a diesel handles it better than gas versions, but a lot of the time away from a station is spent just running without adding miles. That said, I love the idea. My last department (yes I spent a ton of time in one, and not as a patient) has a Kodiak 2wd. Other than the issues with the air ride setup, it has been a really good workhorse. And being familiar with the inner workings, you see the potential for every cabinet, every door, and every little space when you look at it from this perspective. And for those wondering about how many people died in an ambulance, it is usually a lot less than you think. On the other hand, how many lives were saved? An ambulance is there to promote life, not death.
Awesome conversion, nice guy, one who knows what he wants and need!

thoughtful design, I appreciate you literally moved the windows into your line of sight. I'd hang out in this rig no problem.
: Amazing build. Are you sure you didn't design planes instead of flying them. Thanks for the video.
I love that water thing and that he has that toilet builded in it is one of the best vans I have ever seen.
One can tell there is years of experience behind that build.
Yeah he thought of everything, even minimizing loss of water
My Kodiak has an hour meter built in which shows minor idle time.
Didn't think was any space left inside the van with the number of exterior lockers
This dude is hell'uv smart yet so laid back. I guess that's what live in a free and easy lifestyle will do to you. Kudos brother.
