Same. You and I can remember the days when MTV was amazing and they would play videos like this all the time. We usually left it on that channel. Now I don't even know where MTV is. I have it locked out of my TV. Nothing worth watching.
Specially for fans of 1983 music videos, I've put together this playlist with almost 1,000 videos. It has a bit of a British bias to it since I'm from England. th-cam.com/play/PL6oCQqv2KW6WTjSBpavnnkILla2nhwwrV.html
1985 graduate. I met Randy Ross. So smart and talented. She was a child psychologist and obviously great on the saxophone and singing in her band seafood Mama and then quarter flash. I met her 20 some years ago and what a classy woman and it seems like her husband Marv is a heck of a guy too. We grew up in a great time sister.
Not only she does a wonderful job on the saxophone but her singing is absolutely magnificent if you agree give me a hoot and y'all have a great morning and by all means God bless the eighties
Scrolling through music while eating lunch Pat Benatar rindy Ross to the top female vocalist of the 80s it's now 2021 and I do so miss the music of the 80s
Music died when grunge came out. Rap threw the dirt on the grave. Nothing today compares to the 80's sounds. Maybe I live in my past, but the music from that era is the soundtrack of my life.
I hear it all the time that I need to live in the present and not focus on the past so much. However, when you listen to the music, watch the TV shows and movies from the '80s and early/mid 90s, it isn't just an opinion...it truly was a better time.
The music is more available today but the magic part was having a new song or three dropping every week. There was just so much good music and we were convinced it would never end. Bonus points if you recorded such a song on cassette when you heard it on the radio.
I used mistake Rindy Ross with Benatar all the time and still do. My brother was playing his music from his phone the other days and he played Quarterflash and it took right back to that time and what a great treat that was. Miss them days
Yes indeed. I guess for many of us. This music and those great memories will be with us until we die. And find it going back to these 80's music videos is always a great way. To take my mind off of the BS of Today.
Macker Maldrill You can never go back? Well, maybe that might hold true in today’s world but physicists have worked out the mathematics for time travel. Of course will probably never see it in our lifetime but if they ever did build a time machine you can bet your bottom dollar that I’ll be the first one to go back to the 1980s! For me that was the last great decade for music.
One of the most under-appreciated songs of the 80s in my opinion. Haunting vocals, smooth synthesizer, drum beats right on time, a touch of saxophone...reminds me of a cool September night.
Totally agree. Grew up in that era and the NYC radio stations didn't play it. They were fixated on her Harden My Heart and Find Another Fool, which were great, but this one is right up there.
It really was. In 1983, they had all kinds of genres all in one. New Wave, Pop, Metal... you name it. I always felt New Wave had it's peak that year then in 1984. New Wave was slowly starting to transition into Pop and Modern Rock.
74, 84, and 94 were great years. But nearly every year of the 70's and 80's. The 70's had better instrumentals, but the 80's had more splashy hits like this.
Rindy was one of the most underrated and underappreciated vocalists of the 80s. Her voice was nothing short of amazing. I was a DJ at a #1 rated station in Ohio at the time and I miss playing her music.
The music of the 1980's was magical and so creative... An awesome place in time that cannot be duplicated or repeated... You just had to be there at that moment in time, to really understand the special ambiance and essence of artistic excellence that was given to our generation... Awesome... Awesome Sauce.
Oh I'd still love to go back to the 80s. Especially to relive it as a child. I'd be willing to give up the internet if it meant not living in the liberal hellhole America has becoming.

Yes-you are right on' It's since been systematically destroyed into a wasteland of teenage pregnancy shows, 'Catfish' BS & pimping clothing lines.. *NOTHING* about music anymore. Sad, and very tragic..
I used to do exactly that! Skip school and watch videos. I’m in Canada and watched Much Music, same idea fit videos. Randy Ross and Pat Benatar! Loved both, but never compared them. Heart, Headpins, Trooper, Devo, Loverboy, Chilliwack, Brian Adams, it can go on and on,,,,, Thanks! So much easier then than now.
I'll never regret growing up in the 80's, it was such a magical time. It means that I am old now but I will always have the memories of a time when real music like this was dominating the airwaves.
I absolutely agree with you. It was some of the best music of all time and the music videos from then were the best! So creative, they told their own stories. There is nothing like it now. Remember Solid Gold? The music countdown show featuring all these great bands performing all these hits, along with the super hot Solid Gold dancers. It was pure magic!
My daughter is always asking me what the 80's were like. Always tell her the 80's were awesome!! Best decade for music!! HS & College were awesome!! I miss Headbangers Ball!!!!!
I love this band so much I love the 80s soooo much what a time to be alive. cheap rent. very nice people. jobs evetywhere clubs every where the most beautiful women lived in the 80s. so many memories emotional overload wow. people were. so nice in the 80s. iso glad I lived in that. era but I miss it so much.
The other weekend I was at a goodwill and found a mint sealed copy of this record and even had a hype sticker. For a buck 50 i had to get it. The Calvins, sax and the short curly hair just oozes 83. Was 13 in 83 and even though im more of a heavy rocker at heart this song just takes me back.
Remember seeing them preform this the week it was released. They were opening up for Rick Springfield. I can remember it literally like it was ten minutes ago. From around 77-87.... had to be the best years to be growing up. I mean, that time when you are really taking in the world around you. If you were a little kid in the 70s and a big kid in the 80s.... you were blessed.
Anyone here after watching Dirty John: The Betty Broderick story?? When this song came on, it immediately transported me back to the wonderful 80’s. ❤❤❤
These songs never get old ❤ 41 years later and ALL of US that have GREAT taste in music are HERE still enjoying it and will until the end of our days on earth and hopefully in the afterlife 🙂 My message to future generations.... KEEP listening to these ABSOLUTE GEMS✨and NEVER let them die ❤
This is one of a very small special batch of songs that sums up the complete vibe and feel of the MTV early mid 80z in a few short minutes. “Warrior” by Scandal is another. I really miss that feeling that we all kinda took for granted everyday. I knew when it was happening that it was a very special time in music history. Heres to everyone who lived it. Tell your kids all about it and blast these types of songs together.
I was 20 in 1983 and you are exactly correct. We knew it was a special time in music history, however I thought it would not end, such naïveté. It’s 2023 and this song is on my 1983 playlist
Severely missing the 1980s and i can still hear and feel those memories and it actually hurts real pain whenever i think about them, like once or twice in the morning, several times during the day and all night long.
This gives me goose bumps every time I watch it. Rindy was SUCH a talent, and the band's versatility is tremendous. Too many musicians rely on techno-trash nowadays.
Yes,but we who grew up in that magic era of good music didn't realize, nor appreciate how truly great, magical the time was,the music,an art, especially the one hit wonders, the musicians, the songwriters, the singers, the talent behind it all, and we never do when young, until we get older, are seniors like our parents, grandparents, then we realize what we had,and regret not appreciating the genre more when we had the chance.

Smart man! Youth is so much a state of mind. Quarterflash forever!

Absolutely nothing. Just remember "You never know what you had until it's gone forever."

This band was phenomenal
I was in high school.
I'll take back the 80's any day.
Better than today!
I graduated and joined the Air Force in 1985! I'm with you!!!
The past always looks better, but it probably was not.

So we'll said.
I hear it all the time that I need to live in the present and not focus on the past so much. However, when you listen to the music, watch the TV shows and movies from the '80s and early/mid 90s, it isn't just an opinion...it truly was a better time.
"2023" and still, love this song.
Forty years ago Quarterflash told all music fans "Take Me To Heart"! It is an underrated tune!
You’re right, so underrated and my favorite song of theirs.
I was born in 2002...but I'm soo fascinated by 80's music and era and style....maybe I was born late, I don't know 🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯
The music is more available today but the magic part was having a new song or three dropping every week. There was just so much good music and we were convinced it would never end.

I agree they were great times. HS graduate in 85. I lived it.
The era where people were down to earth normal and music and movies were made the best in history ever the 1980’s long live the 80’s
Rindy Ross - one of the most underrated female musicians around. Loved that she not only could sing, but also played a mean sax. :)
I used mistake Rindy Ross with Benatar all the time and still do. My brother was playing his music from his phone the other days and he played Quarterflash and it took right back to that time and what a great treat that was. Miss them days
how the heck do you confuse rindy ross for pat benatar? im trying to find the comparisons
they look alike (same hair etc)

Great talented musicians & a gifted singer Only 4 hit songs??
This takes me straight back to the summer of 1983.
I had a girlfriend and a boombox back in 1983, and the music was perfect. Now i have a stack of bills and too much to worry about.
You can never go back, but it's nice to visit once in a while.
Yes indeed. I guess for many of us. This music and those great memories will be with us until we die. And find it going back to these 80's music videos is always a great way. To take my mind off of the BS of Today.

such a great tune gotta love the 80,s

You’ve spoken with Wisdom.

@@jackkerouac8439 Yup, this was their best radio song (even tho not on the radio much) IMHO.
This should have been as big a hit as Harden My Heart
She's the reason I love to sing
Reminds me so much of late summer 1983. Take Another Picture was a great Quarterflash album.
The song is 40 years old this year! CRAZY!
Boy the leading women of music in the 80's sure were beautiful.
OooH Rah for the 80's! So happy I was in my 20's back then. Fabulous time!
I'm 69 this is fabulous stuff
Quarterflash was one of those groups that made the 80s sparkle!!!
anyone ever notice how this woman's voice is unbelievable? and the sax too!!!
Her voice is powerful, and her looks as well :)...I put her ahead of Benatar by a longshot
MrMjd666 one of my favorite female singers
yes! I remember that group well. I think her name is Rindy Ross plus I also think her hubby played in the band as well.
was the guitar player
I love this band, what a wonderful voice!!
Don't deny the miracle! Don't deny this is one of the best songs ever made. Miss the 80's so much.
Ain’t that the absolute truth. So much fun and just simpler
Hehehe. The number of times I have said to people "Don't deny the miracle!!!" over the years... The few who get the reference become fast friends.

These old School analog 80's recordings have a warm and smooth sound that just can't be duplicated today. The golden era.
true to an extent
They don't record on analog anymore? I thought some people did.
I prefer cd's (remember those?) But you are right about analog records. And the compressed digital MP3 recordings can't hold a candle to analog.

None of that was needed to get the job done.
Didn't need any of that back then. We had actual real friends that we would get together with to play outside until the street lights came on.

And I still got love for CA and the privilege of growing up and coming of age in the 80s…

this music takes me straight back to the eighties when I was young and wild eyed and full of dreams
The crazy thing is that this song came out when I was 11 and somehow it's been stored in my head up to now
Yes I believe you because there are songs that once you hear it, sticks in your brain forever.
You have an excellent aptitude for music. It's that simple.
This is an extremely well written song !
An amazing voice
Rindy had such a great voice. Wish I'd wake up and it would be '83 again. The 21st century sucks balls.
I was born in 1996, my dad got me into the 70s and 80s, I was raised well! As a result I love this era as well as my own!!
