    I was commercial fishing on the Aleutians for the entire summer when this album came out. Any song by QF can transport me directly back to that moment. I was lovesick over a guy named Brett F. My early twenties were an interesting time of emotional learning.

    I’m 55 was 14 in 1980 and spent all my life listening to 70s and 80s tunes . Nothing else compares and never will. No band in this century will ever be as good as half of the bands of those two decades! Eagles , Kansas , bob seger, Asia , kiss, David Bowie, prince ,wham, Motley Crue, bonjovi, Styx, reo speedwagon, journey , 38 special, pat benatar,Cher,Tina turner, Bruce Springsteen,ZZ Top, abba,Olivia Newton John,Queen, Eddie money, genesis, the hooters ,the outfield, the cars , Fleetwood Mac ,Van Halen, blue oyster cult, bee gees, spinners , Donna summers, Michael Jackson,Madonna,billy squire billy Joel, AC/DC , omg I could go on for an hour!

      you made the right choice. I loved 80s music when I grew up, but I spent much of the 90s, 00s and early 10s pretending to give a damn about modern music just to fit in. So I lost out on nearly 3 decades of enjoyable music listening.
      Thanks to Spotify and TH-cam, I now know much more 80s music now than I ever did in my life during the actual 80s.

      Almost Parallel.
      Two up and coming West Coast/Pacific bands fronted by two talented and alluring ladies; both have a following before Major Labels sign them; Corporation steps in to market and promote, then the rollercoaster ride begins. Name and personnel changes, hit records, gain and lose fans, Music Industry changes circa 1983-'84, Label support wanes without any new hits, by 1985 the damage is done and suddenly you don't hear them on the radio or see videos on MTV or then new VH-1. But that's Showbiz 🤷🏿‍♂️

    • @virginiaviola5097
      @virginiaviola5097 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Same, but I need to add the ‘70’s too. I realised tho, in my wish to still be able to remember everything I know now, so I don’t make the same mistakes again, that there was some good music that I wanted to take with me, then realised CD’s would be useless, so that’ll be a fair few mixed tapes and entire CDs transferred onto cassette before I go.

      Me tooooooooooo oh my God I miss being in that era in so many ways. I think a lot of it is just because I was young. But yes I’ve said that so many times I would just keep living in the 80s over and over and over. So much on this. And I know I could easily adapt to not having all this technology we have today. Just to be back and a happier time for me. Even though it wasn’t perfect for a lot of People. That’s why there’s so many time travel books that have been written. I think we all get that feeling. I really do totally agree with you.

      I asked my nieces if they could go back in time to relive their life, but not remember what will happen, would they relive their lives over again OR reincarnate in to another person, in another time, in another location. They all said yes, they would take the second option.
      For me, I want to relive my life over again, with all the bad things and good things, exactly over again and would do it again and again. What a fantastic time to be a teenager. The 80's were really good for everything, including hearing this song for the first time on the radio.

      Tim, they had a hit in the 70's. Few people know that before they morphed into quarterflash they actually had a hit called "magic" At the time they were known as Pilot...look it up

    • @BrandonHixson1996
      @BrandonHixson1996  10 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Ben Breeg Hi Ben - that was actually a different band. There were 2 Pilot bands in the 1970's. I believe there was another in the 1990s lol! The band that gave us the Top 10 "Magic" is actually from Scotland.

    • @synthvault
      @synthvault 9 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Ben Breeg Brandon Hixson is correct. The Pilot we know for the hit song Magic is indeed from Scotland. They were formed by half of the Bay City Rollers who had left well before the Bay City Rollers really hit the big time. You did a great thing here though in bringing up Pilot's Magic. People need to check that track out if they are younger or do not know it. Equally as impressive and important as Quarterflash in my book. The vocals and harmonies on it are perfect.

    Never thought I would say this, but I miss the 80’s! Back when MTV played great music videos. Quarter flash was a great band out of Portland!!
