  • Before I start the video, a huge thank you goes out to Albert (one of the refuse collection supervisors at North Central) for reaching out to the staff at CLARTS, thus making this video possible. Definitely was a fascinating experience seeing this, this place was packed! Everyone is bringing in extra loads during this time period, I think I was told that some are bringing in 27 tons as compared to the average 13. Greenwaste has it's own section on the other side of the facility, but contaminated greens is dumped with trash.
Apparently now, LA is testing a pilot program dumping recycling here and sending it out to Mexico for the cardboard and other materials to be reused. We'll see how that goes. Huge thanks to Eli for helping me out with the tags!
Try to ignore the talking lol.
Don't forget to like, comment, share, and subscribe! Much more to come!

Great video Kanyisa! Hard to imagine that LA in general would have even a decent load of green waste without contamination lol. Fun watching all the bulky waste fall out, i much prefer the “tip to dump” style. Great work!

Wow I guess since more people are staying at home trash amounts have gone through the roof. This video may inspire my next scene I might make with Blender 3D. Sad to see all that potential compost get thrown in here due to people not being able to decontaminate their bins. Those Amrep ejectors though are painfully slow at shoving the crap out of the hopper. Also seeing the shovel loaders push the mountains of trash into the openings down below to the transfer trailers was quite safisfying.

I wonder if they train these city drivers on how to operate the truck in packing there loads like the rear loader dumping the whole load was loose not packed same with the front loader.

Those are odor biodegradable sprays that mask the odors from all the piles of trash.

Where is the recycling? I see no recycling processors why not incineration instead of polluting the earth

It’s because LA recycling bins don’t go through the trash stream, this is a transfer station for the trash materials and bulk items only, recycling goes to a different facility.

So why does it take so long to unload

    • @TrashBulldogProductions

The separate ejector Amrep ASL's have runs in stages which consists of running the blade a quarter then retracting completely, and then running halfway and then retracting once again. This cycle continiues until the blade has pushed the material all the way out. The extending and retracting makes the cycle rather slow.

It doesn’t take long to unload. But they clean out the truck after it’s dumped

I think I know why there is a lot more waste because when the lockdown started I noticed that my black bin waste started increasing so maybe thats why the trucks are dumping 27 tons of waste.
