Just got back from a mot retest after CO emissions.l used cat cleaner for a few days which squeaked me through on 0.20%. I have a grande punto 1.4 petrol 2009 plate so I guess I will need a new catalytic converter. Not sure where to get one or how to fit one. Appreciate how much you do for us punto owners love your videos.
Hey, fair play with the cat cleaner, I had trouble once with a Peugeot 106 on emissions and didn't think of that. Yea new cat if you want to mot the car next year, quite easy to fit and I will do a video on it as soon as I have the fiat back, within the next month hopefully! Thank you for the support! Cheers.
Hi. Love your video of trying to get the impossible off. I always give it a go as well. You just never know someone might just have changed it before you took ownership of the car,. Just one quick question. My 2009 1.4 punto grande's middle pipe is all one piece. Is that normal or has someone welded it ? Iv also looked them up on line and again , looking like they sell them that way too. Cheers Rob
Quite a few of them are one piece and it is possible to cut them in half to make them easier to deal with. The big centre clamp he took of is essentially just a joiner for 2 pieces of pipe the same diameter.
I know this is an old video but just thought I would mention this. The part where you are talking about heating the bolt, is not strictly speaking correct. What you should be aiming to do is heat just the nut. That way it expands and gives more clearance to unscrew it. If you heat both you are not getting as good a 'gap' between the nut and bolt as you would if you only heat the nut. It also uses less gas as your heating a smaller area.
I know what you are dealing with :-) Mine bolts/nutrs were so much rusty that I had to cut them and drill thtough to use new bolts+nuts. I'm going to replace whole straight pipe with flexi and rear silencer. There are small differences on 1.2 / 1.4 Puntos, some have "hang support" behind flexi piece, some don't. I have Punto III 1.4 8V and there's no support, only naked pipe, which is strange a little bit, because whole weight of pipe is holding only by flexi piece. I checked pictures of spare exhausts but those are also without this "hang support". I have small leak through that flexi piece + dead silencer inside, so I'll replace both pieces at the same time.
HI, as far as i know the fiat doesn't have one, so from the manifold we have the catalytic converter first, then a section of pipe to the flexi, then a long section straight to the back box, please correct me if im wrong cheers.
Lool, it’s ok if your putting a new one on just grind the bolts and get new ones. Didn’t want to hack mine as wasn’t replacing just did it for the video.
@@1NELIFE His main point is that bricks can (and often do) crack dropping the car on your head...been there done that, axle stands don't cost much, worth it to be safe
Hi minus the catalytic converter and the manifold from that point is the exhaust the same on a 1.2 as it is on the 1.4 for Fiat Punto Grande ?
Hi yes mate

That's were mines has broken do 8 just order a front pipe for punto or will any punto 1 do
Order a front pipe for a grande punto as the normal puntos will probs be different. Might not be but best to get the right part. Cheers
Really helpful mate, thanks.

You're a real lifesaver! Could you do a video on how to remove the headliner ? I wanted to wrap my roof and have to remove the antenna for that 😅
Hi thanks for the comment. Yes I’m getting back to it in the next week. Will put it on the list. Cheers.

Your nuts and bolts or the car's?😅
Where is the resonator ?

I need a video on how to bypass the catalytic converter on a fiat punto
Then you won't pass an emissions test.....
😂😂😂 i knew you was not getting that off reason i watched bolt on mine are rusted n need to fit straight pipe😫

Bricks? BRICKS! This post should be taken down. Come in, TH-cam...is anybody there..?
What’s your point they do the job! Some people don’t have axle stands or lifts etc. As long as it’s safe it does not matter what you use!!!
