Good to see you back mate. That nice gentle start and gradual ramping up of the mileage sounds ideal. I'd remember not to just keep ramping until you reach breaking point though. A nice deload week every now and then will keep you nicely recovered. With strength training the most important thing is turning up every time. After that, do stuff you enjoy doing, to help keep motivation high. If you feel like you've worked hard afterwards, you're doing something right. The aim is to challenge your body to get stronger. I prefer running then lifting afterwards, as running is the priority, but either way is fine, and much better than skipping one or the other. Hope it all goes well dude 💪🏃♂️👍🏻
Is everything ok Mark, this was a 100% serious reply 😂. Great advice though mate, i forgot about a deload to be honest and I’ll add them to my calendar. Running first from now on, then squeeze in what weights I can before work. This feels like one I can keep up and I’m looking forward to seeing what difference it can make for my running. Thanks mate 👍🏼
Hey Stevo watch acouple of your videos. Been on my own journey for health had set back ,because of sleep and other reasons. Coffee been cutting back the last week. Sleep improving. Quitting tomorrow 0 Coffee. Off for vacation. Going to get back to workout. Putting this in caps not to yell, but to make a point. YOU ARE ENCOURAGING, INSPIRING, AND A POSITIVE MOTIVATOR. Big thanks. By the way I am in USA
Thank you very much, William! That’s kind of you to say. Best of luck on your journey too buddy, set backs happen to us all but it’s how you get over them and carry on that counts. No coffee is a great start in my opinion, more sleep, better recovery, ready for the next workout. All the best with it mate and let us know how you go 👍🏼
Cheers Chris, I tried that last week and it felt good. The gym owner told me to do running after to clear lactic acid but google says running first for endurance so yes I think you’re right. Nice one 👌🏼
Good to see you back. Strength training is something I have tried, but end up losing interest in. I can’t seem to get the right mix of exercises to keep me consistent. I’d be doing it at home as I hate gyms 😂
I'm certainly no expert, but all you need is a squat/bench rack (they come in adjustable height) and the weights of course. You can get a 6ft 'olympic' barbell rather than the standard 7ft. You can even do pull ups on them, if you so desire.
Cheers Billy! I couldn’t get motivated to lift weights at home that’s for sure and I’ve tried the gym a few times in the past and struggled then too 😂 I’m feeling good to keep going with this one if it’s gonna actually help my running! We will see though ay haha
Cheers mate, mine aren’t particularly heavy, I can get to 10 reps before a rest. Felt good running first today but I might mix it up at times. Thanks for the advice 👍🏼

If its heavy, I do weight first. If its genera conditioning i'd do if after a run.

Are you still caffeine free?
Pretty much, have some decaf for taste with no old symptoms popping up at all so all good! Did you try it too?
