    Great video, nice hearing some tones that are less bleep/bloop, more epic, musical vibes. 👍🏼

    Great video. I've had the SV-1 for a while now and it never ceases to amaze me. I haven't a clue sometimes what the patches do but just love the sound that comes out and the randomness. I've added their Dynamic impulse filter and mod tools modules. Now the thing goes bonkers. They're a good test of my speakers!!! Hope you do some more vids of it. Cheers

    Literally the first thing I thought when I first saw the sv-1 was 'Wtf, I just love this this filter knob', so thanks for this short but nice filter-knob-appreciation, you spoke out of my heart ❤️😂

    thanks for the review... its a good idea, to only turn up the mixer knobs halfway if you dial in more than one waveform. You get a cleaner sound and warmer bass. Turning them all up full will drive the filter (which i also love) :-)

    I’ve had mine a couple of months, and not been that impressed, either with the synth or the videos demonstrating what it can do. This however, was impressive- great sounds, great attitude, and more than a little inspiring. Oh, and glad to see there’s another Polar Noise cable fan out there- I only use braided cables and Polar Noise are the business imho. Thanks!

    I liked the sub2 filter fm you did- great sound!... maybe mix it with the adsr signal to get additional per note movement..

    Hi there! Thanks for this vdo... refreshing to ear these sounds...Sooo good!! I’m looking to buy one... more than a week of listening and reading stuff about it. But there is the Microvolt who seem really nice too and i’m confuse between both... witch one to get!? Maybe you hit the same wall...!? If so, what help you make the decision?

    • @ThesisOfSyn
      @ThesisOfSyn  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey! For me it was the look that sealed the deal. The micro volt is amazing but didn’t look as appealing as the sv1. It’s just so robust and looks like an old 50’s science experiment....win

    • @jean-felixfleurylecourtois7135
      @jean-felixfleurylecourtois7135 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ThesisOfSyn Haha.. your right, it's seem's really robust! And the filter/the knobs... I finally choose the SV-1... I think i've listen your vdo 4 or 5 times to enjoy the sounds... The decision was hard to take cause the microvolt have a more futuristic sound witch is really nice but i think i was looking for a warmer sound, more old school/moog like . So thanks for your reply! You help me a lot to take my decision!... Best regards!

      Jean-Félix Fleury Lecourtois no problem! A few effects after can really make all the difference two

      @@ThesisOfSyn Yeah sure.. no doubt about it! And maybe a wavefolder to reach the Microvolt sound if wanted... I really think this synth's gonna be a big source of inspiration!... Can't wait!!

    Love this video! He does what I would do, plug into here and there hoping not to blow the machine to bits. HA! Seriously, as a muy newbi to synths and moreso, modulars, I appreciate his pointing out what the various plug ins are to give at least an idea what they're all about. It's the only review I've seen (so far) to do that. Thanks! But on the other hand - just when i was set on the Moog 32, now I've got yet another choice. With no way to test one of these (I'm also thinking budget busting Prophet 12) within 160 miles, I'm relying on videos. which has me going on - and off.

    • @ThesisOfSyn
      @ThesisOfSyn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Jack! The 32 is cool however only one oscillators if I remember correctly. The only thing that bugs me about the sv1 is having to be really careful not to nudge the oscillators tuning as it’s very sensitive and can easily go way out or tune if you brush past it. Other than that it’s awesome

    Bought the sv-1 because of your video, it's amazing. I haven't figured out how the output works. How can you get from the mono out to speakers or audio interface?

    • @ThesisOfSyn
      @ThesisOfSyn  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A mini Jack to TS Jack cable would work fine into one input On an interface

  • @don_barbour
    @don_barbour 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Just got one, the b, already had the microvolt. Mad combination. You should check the Microvolt, much more aggressive sounding, you can get some filthy DnB Fm sounds from it.

  • @boogertrees
    @boogertrees 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    You never had your clock running- this is why your sample and hold patch didn't do anything fun. It needs to be triggered to hold a new value and this is "normalled" to the midi clock. The LFO also doesn't seem to be triggering the hold as only certain wave shapes will act as triggers.

  • @saren6538

    Do they do a standalone filter from the SV-1? Or even in the old Pittsburgh ?

    • @ThesisOfSyn

      @@tesorotesoro1654 5 pin din is the name of the connector, its used for a few different things including midi but not anything consumers use anymore.
