    This is a Prehensile-Tailed Skink also known as a Monkey-Tailed Skink. They are considered to be one of the most intelligent lizards in the world and form small family groups of a mother/father and several generations of their offspring that all help care/feed/protect the youngest generation. Researchers have even observed behavior that appears to be the older lizards teaching the youngest lizards what foods are safe to eat and what are not. Truly an incredible animal and a truly incredible friendship!

      Great information! I would add they give birth (like mammals) to only one or two babies, only eat plants, and come from the Solomon Islands and Papúa New Guinea. Wild populations are dependent upon old growth forests, which are being logged for timber and cleared for agriculture and mining.

    • @ILuvAyeAye
      @ILuvAyeAye ปีที่แล้ว +14

      @@nissanelement43 I think a number of reptiles in the wild typically lay their eggs and move on, and never intend to interact with their young out of the egg, so they don't have any knowledge of this creature being related to them. They'd see their child as just any small lizard, and if you eat small lizards, well...
      It's funny learning about birds too, for instance male Cooper's Hawks are much smaller than the female (like many hawks), but they specialize in eating medium sized birds, which makes life very complicated for male Cooper's hawks. They have to figure out how to mate without getting eaten, essentially.

      Humans could learn a lot from observing the relationship habits of animals?
      I've watched humans embrace complete strangers, during a natural disaster, in a simple attempt to comfort them, in their times of need...
      And I have watched adult male grizzly bears, kill multiple cubs, and then mate the mother of those orphans, simply because it needed to advance it's bloodline...
      Does that make the humans "better" and the bears "worse", or do you think there might be a little bit of a "grey" area that we should explore some more?
      P.S. Don't bother replying. We both know it's the second option...

    • @alsimmons4504
      @alsimmons4504 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@codymoe4986 And I've watched humans also murder each other over specific racial differences, rob entire families of their possessions, pollute the atmosphere of the this planet, create a global pandemic that's *still* killing people off to this very day and have even killed off other animals on this Earth purely for the sake of dominance and the advancement of their own twisted species.
      I've also seen dolphins form a circle around people to protect them from the dangers of the open waters when they're lost/stranded out there and a wolverine rescuing someone from being stuck in an avalanche as well.
      So does that make humans "worse"? Yes. Does that make animals "better"? Yes. And there's really no "little bit of a gray area" that needs to be explored some more either because the overall consensus is this: humans are a chaotic and destructive species, far more so than any other species of animals on Earth point blank period.
      P.S. no use replying, we both know that it's all true anyway 😉. So yes, humans could *in fact* learn a lot from observing the relationship habits of animals especially these days.

    That's a Bengal cat. I had two of them. In Bengal, India where they are from! Extremely sociable cats, and adapt to all situations, very much like a dog, not cat. This cat is adapting to the energy level of the lizard, interesting to see. I love reptiles, cats, and every animal. I had a rescued boa constrictor and he was the sweetest! He would lie on top of my cat or dog and warm himself up. The cat got used to him even when he was 6 ft long! Both curled up with me on the bed, so sweet.

      She's not a bengal- she's a tabby. Tabbies are just as special and adorable as bengal-- without the hefty price. I should know, as I have a beautiful tabby that looks exactly like her.

Both of them were obviously meant to be together as friends and brothers which makes me think;if a domestic house cat and a lizard can coexist with each other then what is our problem?❤☯️❤️‍🔥
