My sister's cat acts like that with me. The very first day I met him he was begging me for attention. If I let him on my lap it's very hard to get him off. I can't even push him off. He is annoyingly friendly. He wanted to sleep with me but I couldn't do it. He kept giving me love bites and I had to kick him out as heartbreaking as it is I need my sleep.
That's cos we don't choose them, they choose us, that cat has a good life and he's loved, I'd love to take my cat to work.
Cats don't make these decisions lightly - they really do know who we are.
They know who they can trust, and who'll let them be themselves.

We had a cat at work called Tripod, 3 legged, I work in a train depot, he was with us for about 14 years, sadly he passed away last year, he would get on the trains or jump in contractors vehicles and get up to all sorts of mischief. One very special cat that is very much missed by all the staff at the depot.

This is so true. Even though having pets is a bit of an extra expense, they’re worth every cent. Because they make you laugh so often and cheer you up when you’re down, and because they love you just the way you are, they are healing you without you even noticing. They’re very therapeutic, I think there are even studies to prove that animals have a positive effect on people.
They say money can’t but you happiness, but it CAN buy you kibbles and thus the opportunity to keep a pet around, which will eventually lead to happiness:)

@@drawnsequence I’m sorry for your loss. That is particularly traumatic for you, I’m sure. True, the pain of losing one is hard, especially if you think you somehow are responsible. But the joy of sharing your life with one of these “people with fur” is so great, it is worth taking the risk again. If you are not ready for that, thousands of animals are in need of fostering temporarily, or even just helping to socialize them to increase the chance of a forever home. Could be a win-win.

My dealership has a cat which lives next door but spends the day in the showroom, meeting and greeting customers. When I saw how special the cat was to the business I decided that was where I was going to buy my new car. I love seeing him when I get my services.

True! I think it’s also that dogs usually show their love in a more noticeable and obvious way, while most cats are a lot more subtle and reserved. If you don’t know what to look for, you might not realise what they’re communicating to you, or you misunderstand it. I mean, just slowly blinking at a person is a way to show their love, that’s very far from obvious unless you know to look out for it. 😂

I would freak out to leave this cat behind. I’m in California with coyotes roaming city streets looking for food. A coyote killed my moms 15 year old cat in her yard and I’ve seen them in her yard as well.

The same thing happened with my dad. He’s the general manager for a bouncy house company and they have a giant warehouse area to store them and randomly a stray kinda just showed up and hung out watching the employees eventually we caught him and brought him to the vet, no tags no record or anything but perfectly healthy. My dad adopted him and takes him home and brings him to work every day and he just runs around and observers the employees. We’ve had him for about 8 years now

I’m a vet nurse, and we once had an office cat with a similar attitude. One day the printer stopped working. The guy that showed up to fix it came to us baffled, with handfuls of teeny tiny clear plastic cups.
