It looks good. I’m scared to do mine. Like you I started as a sketch artist and I’m used to doing my portraits in monochrome but I want to do this one in either colored pencil or oil paint. Because, after all, who better to completely ruin my first colored portrait on than myself?
I appreciate that, thank you - and I totally understand how you feel. I've always felt like self portraits really put everything out there. Not only is it the physical image of you you're sharing, but it's your art/creation skills as well. Almost a double whammy of "this is me." If it helps at all, I do believe that colored pencil would at least offer you a higher degree of precision and control, which might be useful if you want to ease into color. Then again, oil paint is pretty forgiving in its own right, which helps a lot. Either way though, I think you might surprise yourself! Especially if you've already got that sketching background, which I think helps quite a lot. I hope this goes well for you!
@@Amdall thanks I’m actually playing around with the idea of doing something multimedia too. Ie looking for a way to incorporate paint, pencils, graphite and charcoal.
I'm sorry @AezlyndWanderin, I missed your last reply! Sometimes I lose track of replies unfortunately, since the YT comment feed in YT Studio prioritizes completely new comments over responses with new replies. Regardless, my apologies. What you said about multimedia sounds awesome - I find the notion of doing something with so many mediums to be completely intimidating! Haha sometimes feel like I can hardly keep track of how one substance will behave on paper, let alone four (or more). Since I'm like a week and half late on my reply, I'm curious if you went ahead and tried this? If so, how did it go?
