Sorry but after growing up with the original programme way back, i cant relate to this new one at all. Acting quality and story lines are much weaker and the overall excitement just isnt there for me. Alot if people my age feel the same. Its a shame because i wanted to enjoy it
I've felt the same way in the past, "there will never be another captain like kirk!". What I've found was to put away my expectations and give it a chance. This attitude has enabled me to move forward with the whole star trek themes. I ended up just loving Picard and seeing the other captains for their own uniqueness. This new series is about captain Pike of whom we've never seen or known much of. I loved the character in the movie and wished for more background on him. Now we have it!. Looking forward to more adventures 😊. A better Pike they could not have found. Supporting characters are wonderful but I miss the engineer, please don't go killing off anyone else, the series is too young for that.
I wanted to like this show, too. I was actually interested in Rebecca and Anson being cast. I think they’re both good actors; Rebecca was good in Xmen, and I liked her in Punisher. I liked Hell on Wheels, too. That series went off the rails a bit in the last season or two, but overall, Anson is a good actor. But, I am also disappointed in the strength of the series, episodes, and themes of SNW.

I grew up in the 70s and 80s...this is the best Trek since DS9.
