    Finally an actual tutorial! With low level detail. Not like those other 2 minute "tutorials" that provide no actual detail.

    Strangely enough I'm comfortable with doing crossovers whilst turning to the left but I struggle to trust myself when turning to the right; when turning left I feel in control but when crossing over to the right I feel like my right foot is about to slip and cause me to fall. I guess I need to observe what I do when turning left and apply the same principal in the opposite direction.

    Thank you for the video bro. I'm in my 2nd week of learning on my own from watching your vids among other. You explain stuff really well!!! I'm having trouble with crossover and I think I'm not knee bending as much as I should. And I'm still struggling with stops I either to the splits or I topple over

    • @DomsBlading
      @DomsBlading  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      tichy78 Hey tichy glad to be of help! Knee bend definitely helps when doing the crossovers. Be sure to stay in a crouch, but not a deep crouch, and arch your back slightly forward and lower. As for stopping, try to take it one step at a time. Like the T stop for example, slowly inch your way each time, increasing the distance. Maybe brake a few feet or even inches, back and forth, and then once you are comfortable brake for longer distances. That is how I approached it, hope it helps!

    • @DomsBlading
      @DomsBlading  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      NatsuTheDragonBorn Hey Natsu, I suggest maybe looking at the Inline Warehouse website or a local sports store. It's also better to start in basic skates at first. I started out with the Rollerblade Spiritblade then looked into more intermediate rollerblades.

    This is almost exactly how I learned and continue to sharpen my crossovers. The ones to my right are perfect and fast, to the left I feel too much power through my leg and I almost lost control. I sometimes feel like I have two left feet. Its much better now. Wish I could film it…I might one day.

    • @DomsBlading
      @DomsBlading  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Chibi, thanks for your comment! I agree with you on that. Ironically, my left side crossovers are actually a lot stronger than my right, but it's mostly due to just not drilling enough. But, glad to hear you have crossovers down! Just keep on practicing slowly and then fast. I hope to see you in a skate video sometime =)

  • @olivia1416

    Could you break down the sprint crossovers more? I can do regular crossovers fine but i'm not sure how you do the sprint motion without slipping out. Do you literally "hop" off the toe flick of each step?

    • @DomsBlading
      @DomsBlading  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Olivia Djawoto Hey Olivia thanks for the comment! The sprint crossovers take a little more practice and are not too easy to do at first. You basically just want to skate it almost like you're jogging at a tilt. Follow the motion of a jog in normal shoes (jog tilted), then try applying them to skates. You most likely won't slip out because wheels are pretty capable of gripping onto asphalt. Just avoid leaning too far over
      Shift your weight over to the leg where you're leaning on and use your other foot to catch your stance. You are kinda adding a little hop to the end of it. So yeah think of it as like a "running motion" not a "skating" motion. When I started I went slow with the crossovers, then increased the speed over time. Hope this helps!

      Dom Lay thanks man...!!!!
      and one more thing to ask i.e while doing crossing over do i have to bend my knees more than normal i do...?????
      becoz whenever my skates of my back foot glides that causes a dis balance while skating..!!!

    • @DomsBlading
      @DomsBlading  9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Srosta Basu No Problem! When you're doing crossovers it is best to be mid crouch. Bend your knees while doing crossovers. The lower your knee bend is, the better/easier it is to crossover. If you don't bend, it will be hard enough to get your crossing leg over your other. Stay low~

    whenver i see crossover vids, the skaters are wearing street skates with small wheels. what if you have 80mm wheels and a right brake? those skates are too huge to crossover.

    • @thelars1569
      @thelars1569 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      U can do crossovers with those! I myself have skates with rather big wheels (dont know the mm) and a break. It is harder because the break gets in the way but if u place ur feet careful u can turn it so the break is right next to your back foot. the otherway around it shouldnt be a problem

  • @conraddevera

      Just practice man. I have 84's and the right boot has a brake jutting out of the back (which I should probably take off lol) but I can still do it well. Just put your foot far enough out but not too far as to lose balance and fall.

    Oh, and notice how at the very end, just before her "yeah, I'm bad" grin, she does a slowplow to powerslide (a variant on Stop's drag to powerslide). Your braking tut helped me, too. Welcome back to inlining; and just in time to motivate and help me. lol Steve
