@@willswitchcraft definitely have to check out the film now. and yeah, skyrim is a game. a pretty old game at this point, but the people who know...know. it's a great game.
This is awesome! Hypnotic stuff. This might sound stupid but what did you have to learn in order to produce this kind of music? I'm very curious. Thanks!
Haha, well...I have a master's and partial doctorate in music theory and have been playing instruments since I was a wee lass, so I might not be the right person to ask. BUT! You can have a good time and make cool music without that stuff. Music is definitely hard work, though. Starting from scratch, I think it would take quite a bit of time, maybe at least a couple of years, to get to the point where you could feel confident improvising a decent 15 minutes in a vaguely similar style. But don't let that stop you trying! It's LOADS of fun, even when you're sucking (which I've done plenty of)! And I don't think it's a stupid question at all. :) And thanks so much for the compliment...really glad you enjoyed it!
@@AlisonWilder Wow! It makes sense, you clearly know your way around that gear! I'm starting to study music theory on my own, then I believe I will enroll in a music production course. Not having graduated HS (yeah, I know ☹️) I don't even have the chance and preparation to study at that level. Anyway, thanks once again and keep it up!
Not to worry, you can still have a great time with music, and who knows? Maybe it will really click! But whatever the end result, it's worth digging deeper. You'll learn a lot and it will help you appreciate music so much more as you learn how it works. Or at least that's what it did for me! Have fun!
Also want to say - most people making this general type of music have no musical training and are still making great stuff. So it's not necessary! But I always think learning is a good idea, however and whenever it happens. 🙂
I totally know how you feel. Songwriting is my favorite thing too, and what I've mostly done my whole life. I'm trying something kinda crazy right now, which is to figure out a live setup that will let me perform songs by myself without any pre-fabbed backing tracks. So one of these days you may see this...PLUS me singing and creating a song, all live in real time. That's the goal anyway! Glad you liked the beat and feel. :)
so cool!!
superb, I loved the sense of lightness in both music and in choice of sounds
