    Really glad i found your video. After watching it i researched this dual pump combo a bunch more and liked what i was finding. After a few days research ordered it and just installed it today. Took a note from you and i cut my old pump PVC to matchup with my new check valve location so I can drop it in as a final backup. Got a quiet check valve as well and oh my gosh everything sounds so quiet. Looking forward to sleeping through storms with peace of mind now. Thanks for sharing!!!

      Hey great job explaining how to install the wayne back up sump pump. I too also had a watch dog back up sump pump system but after 7 years the battery died. I didn’t like that battery because you had to add acid and water to get the battery to work and I am not a chicken but battery acid and human skin don’t mix well! And I didn’t wanna get all dressed up in practically a hazmat suit so you didn’t burn your skin off! Anyways I like these new completely sealed batteries that are 100% maintenance free! I also love that the sump pumps are compact and almost ready to go right out of the box! And you only need 1 pvc pipe for both pumps. Thats a huge bonus compared to the watch dog system with 2 pvc pipes which is a hassle to get them all lined up. Only question is do you have to drill a 45 degree angle at the bottom of the pvc pipe to allow some water to go back into the pit? I know my watch dog system did and I think it’s for air and water pressure or something to make the damn thing to work correctly lol But big thanks for taking time out to make a through but concise and right to the point to describe how to set up this system. So thanks again and I hope this ends my every so many years of bailing out and drying my basement with many profanity words to release some high strung anxiety. Oh and why do sump pumps fail on the worst possible ways!? I came home from my in-laws after thanksgiving dinner this year 2023 and my guardian angel told me to go down to my basement for no apparent reason only to find 2 inches of water in my basement and then all hell broke loose with screaming and loosing my mind like Clark Griswold when he didn’t get his bonus but a one year subscription to the jelly of the month club! But as Eddy pointed out that’s the gift that keeps on giving all year long! Oh and if you like to know I didn’t even get a subscription to jelly of month club! And you would think my guardian angel didn’t even help drain the water with her magic. All she did is say hey go check out your basement you have a nice long evening ahead of you brother so start up the shop vac brother! 😡😡😡

    thanks for the video. after watching this video, I am motivated to install the same pump on mine now. A couple of questions... do I put the pump on the sump floor or I have to hang it little higher?
    in my current setup, there is a check valve couple of feet above the sump cover. Can I leave it like that or I don't need that?

    • @petervonpanda
      @petervonpanda  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have a second check value about 4 feet above the pump that was easier to leave in than remove. Since the built in check valves are on the bottom, I don't think it matters.

  • @ruotui

    Bought this one a year ago but didn't install it until today. The big and immediately problem is that the main pump just keeps running when float already reached the bottom. I even manually push the float level all the way up and down but the main pump just won't stop until unplugging the power. Don't know what to do now. The secondary pump works well.
    I planned to install it by myself, but finally I had a professional plumber today to install it. Then we got this problem.

    those are junk. The housing where the switch is tends to leak or can condensate inside fowling the switch. When, not if that happens you will need yet another emergency pump in place to be able to pull that whole assembly out to work on it. doing this in a flooded crawlspace is a nightmare
