I saw Coldplay in the Chicago Theatre in 2001 their first tour. The show was in November 30 2001 a day after George harrison died. They saluted him by pulling up their guitar straps so high their guitars were under their chins and playing this song. It was a beautiful moment and one I'll never forget. I'm not sure if this is from that day or tour but it was definitely a sight to see. This is like my favorite ever band covering my other favorite band and doing an amazing job. Chris should have come up with something else in the middle of the song. That part was just too high for him. He could have kind of rewritten the melody and made it a lot better for him. However this is still my favorite cover of any Beatles song I've ever seen. What an amazing job Coldplay!!!
This version isn't bad (music wise), but I still prefer the original over this. I like the simplicity of it. The vocals for Coldplay's version, even though I do like Coldplay, is so-so, but I love the music, as I mentioned.
@TomDpp Doubt it. Every musician's goal is to tell their story in their own way. The Beatles did it, as does Coldplay. One youtube-poster's opinion is I'm sure, the least of their concerns.
