Ok so i love this scene, and I felt the heartache and yearning and frustration as much as anyone, but I gotta say this dude needs to get better biblical references if he's trying to pull a family together. It's like he's listing the dysfunctional family in the Bible in chronological order. And the whole time Cesare is looking at him like "Umm... get better references or stop helping."
Showtime should invest in a "Della Rovere" spinoff and give their real Borgia ending using the first few of episodes. They would have a new historical crime drama, conclude the Borgias, and develop Pope Julius II's (Della Rovere) story -- essentially killing three birds with one stone. Nobody from the Dexter cast really deserves a spinoff series, anyway. Give Colm Feore a shot at the papal throne!
Considering my name and in this situation I would say: "HE IS ME! ALL THE DEPRESSION, THE INDECISION! THE HATE! THE APATHY! I LOOK INTO HIS EYES I SEE MYSELF! DO YOU EXPECT ME TO LOVE THAT?!" Then my son would say "do you not love yourself father?" and I would reply "have I not made myself clear enough?"

There is no contest between Borgias and Starz's Da Vinci Demons. Borgia is the clear winner and I hope that Irons would never retire.
