Something many dont know, Charles Adams, wasnt doing artwork about monsters or vampires. He was mocking the very rich and their lifestyle. The idea was they were so not in touch with the rest of world, that whatever they did was considered correct by their POV. This is why I dislike the live movies because they totally changed his ideas, while the original show stayed close to his ideas.
I wonder though if the characters became too beloved and people found too much relatable in them through the TV series for them to remain a satire or cautionary tale. The strong relationships, family values, generosity and and optimism that infests the old TV show aren't really what you associate with the modern elite.
How could you miss Ted Cassidy's other, and popular, role in the series? He was "Thing" in most of the shots with the families handy-thing. As always thank you so very much for the video.
I think what hurt the revival series AKA The New Addams Family was there was too much goofy sped up scenes and the constant bombardment of music throughout each episode. They never gave a chance for the show to breathe.
One of the clever things about the old TV series was that the characters would seem weird, bizarre and unnerving to "normal" people, but they were actually the epitome of the happy and loving family, with well-adjusted, devoted parents who were utterly dedicated to each other, and they had no malice towards anyone.
Off-topic comment about avatar. 😂 Disney world’s Animal kingdom literally made an entire section dedicated to the avatar world, not one ride… an entire section… whether people dislike or like the avatar franchise sequels for the original movie makes sense when you know that information. I mean imagine the Harry Potter section at universal studios/adventure island but it only has one movie and 1 game to its name. creatively there’s not much to work with. As of right now (12/8/2022) avatar from what I understand only has one Game and one movie to its name that’s already out. That is absurd to base an entire theme park section dedicated to just one movie sure it was the highest grossing movie ever but an entire theme park section is a bit much. It would be much more justifiable and a lot more creative ability to make new rides and expand on that section at Animal Kingdom if there’s multiple movies even games to reference from. So in that sense I do hope that avatar 4, 5, happen. It will feel much more justifiable as to why Disney gave the Avatar franchise the “harry Potter” treatment section similar to like how they did with Toy story land Which is much more justifiable given the amount of movies it has. Even think they’re making a Star Wars land from what I understand. But as it stands right now avatar definitely needs the sequels to happen. (Unrelated) Based on the amusement parks as they are right now so just Disney universal etc. A few franchises that I wouldn’t mind having an entire dedicated section for would be (assuming anybody can even get the rights to do this) Pirates of the Caribbean Tolkien’s world (lotr, hobbit, etc) Game of Thrones The Walking dead DC movies/comics Transformers. Avatar the last Airbender (whole universe not just the specific story following Aang and his friends)
Have you visited the park recently? I know they jacked up the prices a few years ago, and I came across a headline (in the past couple days) that said the CEO regrets it. So have you visited? What were the prices like? Justified? Or no? Beyond that, I understand your confusion about the Avatar theme. But it's projected to be another hit and my guess is that Disney is jumping at the chance to get in on the money. It makes perfect marketing sense.
@@ladyyananumber1200 I only went to Magic Kingdom recently (just for the Christmas party not a full day). The price wasn’t terrible to get in at that time. But looking at the prices particularly for Florida resident discount it’s still outrageous in my opinion. The three or four day ticket is too much in my opinion. I think even universal boosted their prices significantly last time I checked on their site. But yes based on the reviews for Avatar 2 I’ve heard from multiple people all over the place online who have already seen the movie they seem to be largely positive and the visuals seem unanimously agreed-upon to be significantly better than the first movie. So I have no doubt this movie would likely be successful and likely crack $1 billion. Avatar 3 from what I understand is already practically finished so that movie releasing is almost a guarantee. I just hope the sequels after that still happen. I have to admit Disney definitely has strong faith in this franchise to design an entire section dedicated to this franchise especially when at least from what I can tell this franchise is nowhere near close to being finished. From what I’ve heard apparently James Cameron or a successor to him is planing too keep the franchise going all the way up to avatar 7.
Bad decision to go with the sloppy massive grey bars, as if they are any better than the black ones. Gotta keep it ONE FORMAT, full screen, no bars, never bars of any sort whatsoever - that's the basic visual esthetic standard for all movie-related material on TH-cam in 2022. As for this show from the 60's, there are plenty videos on TH-cam that feature it either in full-screen aspect ratio, or otherwise barless - so it's not like your task wasn't possible to complete.
What did you think of the 1964 "The Addams Family?"
Cult classic i think its better than the 90's addams family movie (its my opion)
I still watch it now and then. Still makes me laugh and I'm 68.

That's very cool. Though I would argue the movies are simply very good as a separate narrative. In their own right.

That's cool. Morticia and Gomez Addams are so in love that I'm sure it's been a model for a generation.
The 60s sitcom will forever be the best.
my 4 year old loves it.
@@Urik187I'm 60 yrs old & I love it so much I bought the entire series, good for your 4 yr old👍✌️
"It's me, Wednesday!" Had me rolling on the floor laughing.
I knew about all these facts!! However, I’ve been a fan of the 1960s sitcom since I was six years old!

As always thank you so very much for the video.
Ted Cassidy was the first reporter to interview a witness live on air when JFK was shot
You can see a Cousin IT figure in the drawing shown at 00:51 of this video, so I question the accuracy of that part
I loved the Original series but also enjoyed the 1998 revival series. I wish it got more respect!
I think what hurt the revival series AKA The New Addams Family was there was too much goofy sped up scenes and the constant bombardment of music throughout each episode. They never gave a chance for the show to breathe.
❤Nice seeing the classics. Thank you for sharing. ❤

...and Carolyn Jones was also on Batman.
Marsha! Heh, no wonder everyone kept falling in love with her ;-)
Should rename this the truth that’s been told for years, let’s just repeat it and claim it for looper
So the Wednesday part in Wednesday was actually true.
I am here because of the Netflix show Wednesday
I didn't know Lurch was 6' 9"... egads that's tall ! 😳 😃
I love what you do
Love the Adams family but the Munsters is still the goat
So true.
