''Be bold, be brave, be beautiful! '' Thank you so much for your encouraging words and inspirational tutorial! I'm just a beginner, I'll try my best to learn from YOU🥰
Thank you!!! A SPECTACULAR demonstration of the basic techniques one needs to become a competent watercolourist. Just practice this sequence of steps repeatedly to become skilled at watercolor (regardless of the subject matter one favors). As so many others agree, you are an excellent and conscientious teacher, keeping the demonstration uncomplicated but not forgetting to mention the details that elevate the skill set and make the finished piece better. Thanks again!
I just had one of your tutorials randomly pop up a couple of weeks ago here on you tube. I started to try watercolor a couple of years ago and gave up. Luckily, I never got rid of my supplies! I have ordered and received a no.3 rigger and a 12 round and can’t wait to pick it up again! Paul, you have a way, no wait..a “gift”, of presenting and teaching watercolor so that it is not so intimidating! I can’t thank you enough for sharing your gift and talents with all of us! God bless you, sir!😃👍
You are so welcome Charles! - hope you have many years of happy painting - it's really is a very relaxing and enjoyable pastime! 😃👍 - but also can be very addictive!!!!
You're right. Paul has a gift of presenting and explaining in such a simple and effective manner. I'm so psyched to try and replicate/imitate Paul's paintings!
@@ArtbyPaulClark It's so true...I have always been told to just get started and not be concerned with perfection. All of your video was perfect witnessing you become comfortable with making tutorials over the past two years has been invaluable. Great job!! 🙏🏽👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This is the project for Sunday 24th January. Today’s was the Mexican building, put in a dog and man having a siesta. Turned out to be really good, very pleased. Tomorrow I want to do the poppy field. Love the free flow of the paint washes. I am really enjoying watching and learning and the results are great, thank you for giving me the confidence to try.
I found this tutorial and tried..... it took me 3 attempts... I struggled with the paper and the Blue... but after switching to better materials it turned out ok. But more importend: I've learned so much!!! Paul, you are such a good teacher! Your comments are always on point, helpful and supportive. Thank you very much! Greetings from Berlin! 🙋🏼♀️

Paul, you're simply the best! Thank you so much for making me more confident, I'm no longer afraid to pick up my brushes and paper. Even though I'm French and not good at English, at least I understand what you're saying! 😍😍
Ok, I did everything to follow steps. It didn't came out the same way, different paper probably, paints, skills of course. I was disappointed in the beginning but continued, and even if it's not exactly the same in the end, I'm so happy with it! I must say my best work so far. Great idea, looks superb.

Hi Paul, I discovered you yesterday when trying to paint some boats. Loved your style and having just returned from a trip to Venice I have been trying to paint boats in Venice which has proven a bit of challenge for me. This video has helped a lot with the reflections and background sky - thank you. I will be following you from now on!
Paul, I just adore your videos! Even though I am a watercolor painter and not an oil painter, I have always loved watching Bob Ross' videos because of his calming voice and fun, carefree approach, with the occasional humorous remark. Now I believe I have found the Bob Ross of watercolor. Your light, unintimidating approach makes it feel so fun and comfortable, and your great sense of humor only adds to it. All of which only enhances the already beautiful work you do. Thank you and I will be watching your videos for life!!
So much to learn from you (and try!!!)....so little time in a day.....I find it sad to have to go and sleep 😂😂😂aaaah creativity!!! Will definitely try this too....soon....bless you!!!
I started watercolor on a whim like two weeks ago - because I stumbled over a video from you, when I was looking for a tutorial for someone else. I'm still doing only small pictures and lack some equipment that would help with details but nevertheless, I love every one of your videos! It's learning by doing in the best way possible, it's fun and the result is always a decent picture, even on my level. Plus, it's hard not to share your joy when painting along. :D Thanks for that!
Thank you, you are still a star friend. The best art teaching video I have seen. Uncomplicated 'honest and contented. Only a contender person can give. Regards
Absolutely gorgeous!! As I practice painting the sun setting on the sea, this offers some great tips. The wax resist is so neat. Truth be told, I needed a glass of wine to relax while watching you lay down those dark purple reflections in the water. Oh my … 😅 I’ll give it a try in the morning🤞🏼
Thank you for putting these tutorials together and sharing them - its not often people have such a gift for teaching the gift of their craft with such a personable approach! I'm forwarding all of your tutorials and the link to your youtube channel, along with a copy of your beginner techniques book, to my dad who lives on the Garden Route in South Africa. He's promised a watercolour of Urquhart Castle and I'm holding him to his word! Just so that you know - you're a very global phenomenon. Thank you!

You are the greatest, funniest, most talented teacher I have come across, bar none! I look forward to every Wednesday and mess around with w/c on my own the other six days of the week. Truly addicting. But that's ok. Happy Holidays to you and Margot.
This was fun! I especially like the dusky purple mix and how the granulation makes it look like it's glowing. I used watercolor pencils for the lights, mostly because it's what I had. They're pretty opaque if you dip the tips in water to soften them. Not quite the same as pastels, but I like it. The clouds went a little wild on me but I think the sky was too wet. All in all, a frame-able success. Thank you Paul! So glad I found your channel!
