*Audie Murphy (1925 - 1971) - THE most decorated U.S. solider in WWII...!* He rose from the rank of private to officer with multiple battlefield promotions and was awarded the Medal of Honor 2 weeks before his 20th birthday! His steely inner confidence was forged in the crucible of war! His soft Texas drawl and natural acting ability helped propel him to movie stardom - thanks to the great actor James Cagney who launched his movie career after seeing Audie's picture on the front cover of Life magazine! Audie Murphy was one of the best western actors in the 1950's but he played other roles as well. After the start of the Korean War in 1950, Murphy began a second military career and was commissioned a captain in the 36th Infantry Division. He wanted to join the fighting but the 36th was never sent overseas. He retired a major. Also not very well known is that after he tragically died in a plane crash at age 46, his wife Pamela devoted the rest of her life to helping veterans in a California VA hospital until her death in 2010. Audie Murphy is buried in Arlington National Cemetery and his grave is the second most visited grave after president John F. Kennedy!
Audie Murphy is simply the best there is. Modest and genuine, with this thrilling reality about him that you seldom see in films today. I work in the film industry, and believe me, Hollywood could take a lesson.
My grandfather a WWII paratrooper loved Audie Murphy. We would watch an Audie Murphy movie and he would say "John Wayne was an Actor who portrays Heros, Audie Murphy is a Hero who portrays an actor" Said it everytime.
Good ol' Audie ! It's amazing how quick he took up acting so soon after ww2, and did such a great job of it. We need more men like him in America right now. Just sayin'.
He was taking care of his family or his mom when he was a little boy taking care of his brothers and sisters. His dad had gone away or died or something. That’s what he was doing. When he started acting he was taking care of them and taking care of his own family, he suffered terribly mentally from the war and he died too soon, but I know he’s with the Lord now bless his soul. He’s at rest.
THE GUNS OF FORT PETTICOAT. What a great old cast and show. Telling the old tale of government agencies gone bad and overstepping their legal boundaries.
Back in the sixties, mom and us 6 siblings watch TV once in a while. I remember Audie Murphy in movies. Some of the scenery was awesome. And Audie Murphy was to. 🙏✌GOD BLESS 🙏 AUDIE MURPHY 🙏
Good reminder women will fight and sacrifice as needed........ this movie did not take it easy on the ladies... good movie ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Audie took care of his parents's family as a child. At 17, he joined the military for WWII, and used his salary to continue helping his brothers and sisters. He had always worked hard to care for his mother and all her children. When he earned all the medals he did, in war, for wisdom and bravery beyond the call of duty, at such a young age, and suffering heavily from PTSD because of it, Hollywood was clamoring for him, this at that time most highly decorated soldier, because America was clamoring for him, as well. He was the Real Deal.
Maybe not everybody has something good to say about Audie Murphy, but nobody who does have anything to say about him doesn't have anything bad to say at all
When the U.S. cavalry slaughter women and children, they call it a victory and give out medals and medals of honor. When the Native Americans defeat the cavalry, the U. S. govt calls it a massacre. Glad Audie Murphy is on a good side of his conscious. Great movie.
Comanches in Civil War Texas. All the Sonoran Desert vistas, with saguaro cacti (except for corny fakes), are what was to become Arizona. Always enjoy seeing Audie Murphy but, were I a Comanche, or of any other American Indian tribe, this flick gets minus stars. Thanks for posting VLG C.
During this period, the Apache used to get provisions from the reservation and use them for raids into Mexico. Mexico couldn’t afford to base armies on its northern border so the Apaches had free reign to raid and murder the population before returning to the reservation. However, on several occasions, the Mexicans united around a strong leader, and defeated the Apache after protracted fighting. The Indians had many different cultures, and the Apache were not representative of those cultures. however, their reputation for fierceness was well deserved.
Well, she is listed on the IMDB as "Blonde in Combat Practice (uncredited)" and in the film there is a blonde woman who overpowers one of the attackers with a judo-style flip and then kills him with his own tomahawk. However, the photo of her on the IMDB is of a brunette.
First wotch Audie Murphy my mum he was her favorite actor Shameful in history of Uncivilized reaction to Control First Nation People The atrocious actions to one an other to others that looked not the same see wot this movie brings But Audie Murphy my mum of the blackwater early days
Obviously filmed down in southern Arizona, where the cactus grow tall, but the raiders dress like and fight like plains Indians. There are no buffalo in that part of the southwest. No grass to speak of.
bs in some of the facebook audie murphy groups one of the guys who acted with him posts all the time and talks about being good friends with him and share pictures of them on set and stuff put your butt on the line and see how it is how it changes you i know alot of people keeps guns close by i do
😢 Nothing against Audie, however the geography of the movies was completely off base! The Sand Creek Massacre was IN SE Colorado Colorado ,and Chivinton was a minion of the Devil!🎯

Audie was good Hollywood boy, he played his role well, the owners must like him a lot!

Love Audie Murphy! ❤
The Guns of Fort Petticoat
Old westerns are like Star Trek Voyager flipping over wagons.
I agree Beth. She reminds me of my Great Aunt Dorothy (Dot). Stern but reasonable.
Audie said...captain first then called him cornel 15 seconds later....😮
When the U.S. cavalry slaughter women and children, they call it a victory and give out medals and medals of honor. When the Native Americans defeat the cavalry, the U. S. govt calls it a massacre. Glad Audie Murphy is on a good side of his conscious. Great movie.
I believe Sand Creek is called a slaughter. Read some actual books instead of spewing garbage.
Le soldat americain le plus décoré de la 2eme guerre mondiale et fan des armes à feu !😊
I have one complaint against the "old movies" they end to fast.
This is not the full movie.
Part #2
Sheriff coffee 40:41 😮

Evelyn Finley wasn’t even in this film.
Her last acting role was in 1956, though she continued as a stunt coordinator into the 1980s.

Is this the gun of fort petticoat
Exactly, it's the Gun of the Fort Petticoat.
Sand creek happened in Colorado not Arizona.
Beware no credits

Injuns with saddles.
BBC here in the UK claim Indians invented saddles before anybody else.😄
Huh. A Winchester '73...in 1865.
...well spotted !...

No one liked working with Murphy he was a real jerk and could go off anytime and had a 45. close most of the time.
And he knew how to use it
