This film had a lot of familiar stars and veteran character actors. Jack Elam (Tioga) played so many bad guys in westerns, this is one where he gets a chance to be a kind of hero in touching scenes that reflect excellent, thoughtful writing.
Saw this when I was about 9- years old.. My Love for COLT Single -Action Revolvers and Winchester rifles were born that Day.. Am 75- now and still do😊👍
Despite its faults (Apaches speaking the Lakota language), this is a fun movie with great character actors. Yvonne de Carlo is great and funny with lots of Latino Wisdom for a little Vancouver girl with French roots. Her real father was an Italian with Spanish roots so the apple never falls far from the tree. She spoke French fluently and Italian along with Spanish, an pequito. She could give press conferences in all four languages. I plan to purchase and read her autobiography to know more about this remarkable lady and lovely woman, the very words in the screenplay to describe Ms. de Carlo. The role in the movie was specifically written for her and she played it brilliantly. Have fun!
This is a great little flick, which continually documents that stupid people die in stupid ways. Acting's great (Elam should've gotten an Academy Award for this performance! And the cat-fight at 1:23 is entertaining.), scenery is superb, and the script is plausible. Best line: "What ever he said goes for me too." (31:50). Well worth a watch. Thanks for posting.
KATY JURADO, just an outstanding actress both in MEXICO and the U.S. I remember her from the movie the high noon alongside GARY COOPER ans LLOYD BRIDGES.
Interesting history of Jack Elam. He paid to be in some of his first movies. Then he became recognized as the great actor that he was. I knew his nephew. We fished for halibut commercially in Alaska together. I really miss you Sandy.
Not done watching yet, but it's a decent old movie. Paused to look up info about the theme music. It's a lovely tune that I have heard played in a number of other westerns. I wanted to see a list of them, but no luck. I only managed to find the name of the music producer and then a list of movies that he did music for. His name is Paul Dunlap or Dunlop. Anyway, time to get back to the movie. Brief update: The song is Bury Me Not On The Lone Prairie. The producer didn't write it, but may have done the music arrangement and orchestration for the movie. Still couldn't get a list of other movies that used this tune though, even with the help of using the correct name for the search.
Good old movie. Heard Ben Johnson give the intro and hoped he was in it. Alas. And who doesn't enjoy a good cat fight now and then. Jack Elam's a big plus.
Good movie. Thank you for including the introduction, actors, etc. So disappointing to watch other posters not include the important information, and end the movie before it actually ends. I hate cut and paste and I actually don't recommend those channels once I see how they butcher the actual films...
He hit me he nail on the head when Phillip told Ann that he didn't think that she wasn't capable of loving anyone other than herself. 😮😮😮😮😮😅😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
I don't know if I'm going to keep watching this movie or not. It seems to be getting pretty boring. And so many unpleasant people. And just waiting for the Indians to show up. 😅😅😅😅😅
Surviving a rain of lead from machine guns/ rifles/ pistols for a horse is miracle. Only the riders were hurt and that's a hard fact to digest. That's a weak portrayal for a saga.( Machine guns aren't truly built for sure aim. Their aims are never near perfect. It's just a simultaneous in-built spit fire machine for assualt). These oldies are much more entertaining, and that I accept. I loved them all. But, perhaps if they could make it seem a little, more realistic, that would be awesome - -- Pistols and rifles have practically good aim. But, it could easily go wrong once you lost your concentration. N/b: Never meant to hurt those on screen. Just stating the facts.
You can never go wrong with a western movie 🎥 💯
Good movie 🙌🏾
Great plot and cast doing it the way old westerns were meant to be done. Thanks for sharing.
That Alma Beltram was such a classic beauty, always like it when she pops up in these old westerns.
Nothing like a good, old fashioned Western, they just dont make them like this any more❤
Yup. If you white... you alright!!!!

Good one 👍
Mr French, mr French, Jody and Buffy are looking for you.
When they made great movies
Good movie got me to keep watching to find out what's gonna be the ending of this story and how many of them managed to get to their destination.
Old classic westerns aqre the best deal. Hollywood doesn t know how to make a good western movie today. Italian movie industry is better at that.
Thanks!
Ms. Jurado is the best of the best.
Dirk-Jan Rozenboom, the man you never heard of, was and is the best friend of all natives, “remember geronimo “
Thanks
Nice one

DAM good movie
Porque não colocar mais filmes do Tarzan antigos
Buggy wheels on a stage coach not designed for running over obstacles 🤠
Good Movie, but Apaches don't look like this, only when Jicarillas. Other tribes don't wear Feather Bonets.
RIP Jack
where does this copy come from?? cannot find a dvd in original CinemaScope
One of the best. The film makers in that era made the women look too clean. They would be sweaty, hair in a mess etc.,
❤😂 A OLD SCHOOL MANLY MAN MOVIE 🎬 🎉
When we are weak there is no confidence.
Jack Elam, Hank Worden and Kate Jurado. Only this gave to this westren a great reason to watch, and it is about a real fact.
Great skill to keep clean-shaven without soap or water....
What?! John Dehner is not in this film?
Yeah, he was made for one like this.....I too like his movies.❤
He would fit right in. He was so good also in western radio plays.
Why isn't it shown in Cinemascope?
Wow
Is the Marshall Trevor Bardeau from The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp as Old man Clanton...anyone know?
Those. Soldiers. Would. Have. Al been. Scalped. !!!!!
Only a few tribes scalped!

Katy played in a marlin Brando ?
One Eyed Jacks.
Mr French before he was Mr French.
I sincerely think lifting that water barrel full would not be that easy.
Did Jack ever get the woman? Any woman?
I can't believe what they did to Mr. French 🙄
Kathy Jurado Mrs Ernest Borgnine ❤
I doubt anyone could sneak up to a Apache
sorry you are titles how can you honestly sponsor glasses when all can see!
Towards the end why when the captain bushwhacked the apache why didn't he grab his horse ?
Je préférerai : Van efflin ,randolph Scott , John Wayne et même Henry Fonda dans ce film 😊😊😊
Rien à voir avec les nouveaux films bourrés de numérique que j aime pas 😊
Those are not Apaches. Thier chiefs did not wear headdress’s.
37:30 This movie is still relevant. She's a modern woman!
Jallah is wearing my sister's night gown
