Tried to bed log yesterday. Did some salvage, logged out, had dinner. Logged in an hour later. Successfully login and start flying and immediately hit an invisible astroid. Logged out. 10/10 would recommend
Some of us have real life situations we need to urgently take care and bed-logging out of a game to then later continue is a blessing. Thanks for sharing this game play
Thanks for making your content Farrister. Your videos are quite enjoyable and relaxing to watch. I really appreciated your side note about bed logging to take care of your son. I'm a proud father of two little boys and they are (next to my wife) the greatest blessings in my life. Sometimes duty calls, and it made me smile to hear from another Dad about running off to go look after their little one. Blessings to you and yours.
Your bed logging reminded me of my son's childhood where I would play when he was down for a nap and I played from a rig in the same room, Atmos headphones. He was eventually given the rig. Great to see another gaming dad, besides Red Monster SC.
The Vulture was excessively profitable in terms of money over time. It's still very good. I'd say there's no need to 12x through all journeying and all things. I like seeing some flight in real-time, it's part of the experience. Edit: For size 1 quantum drives the best speed-efficiency compromise is the Atlas drive.
Yup, I'm not complaining! I try to find a balance, some of it isn't sped up (eg Merlin flight), but I usually target 20 to 30 minutes for these gameplay videos
As you where stacking your first hopper load I was already thinking how good it would be to have a buddy doing it for you with his cargo ship in tow :D Low and behold, ofc you mention it midway through the video ^^ Guess Ill have to look for a buddy who owns a Vulture so I can find some use for my Freelancer MAX keep up the good work, very enjoyable vid!
I finally bought a Vulture. In fact, I don't really care if it makes more or less, I really enjoy it. I've read in many places that it's not worth paying for the mission, but I do it alongside the panels. I think that's fun too. I haven't dared to try bedlog in space, but I'll give it a try now. Your older videos helped me a lot, but this one confirmed that it was worth buying Vulture.
Love the videos! Really relaxing to watch you play various gameplay loops. It came to mind when you mentioned an SRV - maybe you could do a two player video sometime, using an SRV to tow abandoned or wrecked ships to a Vulture which can salvage them? I believe they fixed towing ships in quantum in the latest patch.
Even if you decide to make videos with hours of gameplay I would still watch but that's just me. I really enjoy star citizen and the layout, look, and feel of your content.
The activities you undertake inside a game must have sufficient rewards to progress the loop in a timely manner. I'll use Elite Dangerous as an example - it allows you to upgrade your ship for a given gameplay loop within a few hours of dedicated play. That time expands when you get to the higher end of the loop - i.e. ships get progressively slower to attain as they get larger, but the first few ships in a loop are generally achievable in just a few hours of play each. With the price changes, everything is taking so long. I gave up on panel salvage earlier this week when it took me ~2 hours to fill my vulture. Add in the time to unload and sell and we're talking 2.5+ hours, for under 500kauec. A vulture, in game, sells for a little under 2.5 million IIRC, That's 5 days of playing 2.5-3 hours per day, for the entry level ship in the game loop. And they're looking to add additional time sinks, for realism, in the form of refueling times, showering, etc... they've already added unloading times, etc. Personally, I think they'll have a dud on their hands if they can't sort out the economy soon. People are not going to want to play a game that does not respect their time.
Best to just park the Merlin on the side if there's room between the walls and the hangar floor. Will never need to summon it or store it! Great little MT taxi
Correction: Shooting panels does Not make them De-spawn! Just makes them de-render out of view. Yet clears the area for flying. For me! I did find that panels tend to render in better while in 3rd person view. The great thing about "SC" is there is no right or wrong way to do something. If it works for you! Then it works!
Dearest Farrister, you struggled with the GM for distance in this videos. It is not Giga Miles. It’s Giggle Meters because it’s using the metric system. It would be LMAO Miles in empire units. You can tell that it’s metric by how the processor on your computer is measuring speed. It’s in MHz or GHz. Those stand for My Giggle Hurtz as a measure of heat created by the smiles per hour generated. Thanks for another great video and hopefully humor has been transferred to the community as well.
I got no issues with the amount we get from panels, it takes a bit longer to make money from them now but it's still decent money. Keeping an eye out for abandoned ships is where the real money is, I made a cool million off an a Hammerheads RMC a few days ago just sitting there just outside of Port Tressler easiest day of salvage I've had in a long time.
All distance measurements in SC are metric… 1 gigameter (Gm) = 1,000 megameters (Mm) = 1,000,000 Km… measurements that are easier to read than everything being in KM but, IMO, harder to understand or conceptualize. Apologies to @ryork. I just saw you also said this.
Has the Reclaimers drone bay always functioned? Another channel, Foxyloxy has the drone bay doors working, and the drone screens are updated with the new MFDs. If so, I'd be curious to know if the Carracks drone bay has also been updated? Can't see any videos yet.
Yeah, nerf is 50% on the yield, as the big Idris panels used to yield around 10 SCU. If they could only fix the "invisible panels" bug that has been around since 3.20 or so, that would not be such a big issue. Finding a 20k signature, only to be able to easily spot maybe 3-4 panels.. it just sucks.
did you know you can squeeze an extra box in the hooper? I think its a bug, but because of it I can usually get 37 SCU's and 38 SCU's if the servers are good and allows me to hold a box above the ejection port in the vulture, I noticed if you auto unload the hopper and there is an obstruction the next box out is removed from the counted total in the hopper, so when you unload the boxes from your ship there will be 1 box to eject then the 13 left so a total of 14.
i fill up the cargo from rigth back side to the left until its so full and i can't get in the room. the way you did but one directly infront of the doorway and then holding one last box up so the last one can get out of the hold and i can drop the crate on it. think ware like 26 scu and then the 13 of the hold.
I just wish we could suck up the panels' remains with the structural salvage mode. I dont even care if it doesnt give much material, it just feels wrong leaving the trash lying around in space after scraping half of it up
Did they ever fix the multi-ship gameplay? Last time my friends and I tried multi-ship (salvager and cargo ship), all the cargo that left the vulture(s) were considered stolen by the game, even if the player owned both ships (salvager and cargo) so we could only sell at Grim Hex for a less.
@@Farrister you can (or at least could back in 3.23) re-party with the same person and they should be able to sell again. Ran into this once where we filled a cargo ship from the vulture, but didn't try to sell until the next day and only the person with the cargo ship was online at the time. Cargo was listed as stolen. I got back on and we partied, and then it was salable at as usual.
If you are going to leave a ship outside at the Commons, can you at least power the ship down completely, so that an SRV Operator will have a chance to tow it away?
just pro tip do not do this in a reclaimer, the metal plates have unfortunate habit of popping in to existance this means that you can collide with them and getting killed by invisible metal plates is annoying so, i urge you to have a scout to handle the finding for you in a smaller ship.
Thanks for a great video, I like the 'demo' of bed logging. I think if two person salvage becomes a thing, that will be the end of the Solo Salvager and one less occupation that a person can do respectably solo.
I was using it the other day when I found a bunch of derelict Prospectors at ARC-L2. I tried towing it away from the station a bit, but not sure how to move further or closer with the beam.
very surprised to learn that farrister doesn't do the SC equivalent of putting back his trolley and just leaves his ship on the landing pads outside the commons. Shame!
Farrister ten hour salvaging loop, zero commentary gameplay when? Don't even need to music I'll play my own lofi. (Maybe not ten hours but I'd love to see a no editted loop)
I got the same problem, but only on my home planet. No problem on the other planets. So i just do my salvage and selling on any other planet system than home
i find c2. i get my Taurus near it. and start timer and start scrape. 2h5min later i have 70 scu rcm. and loaded in to my Taurus. make 940k out of it. it's okay if they nerf it.but God dam fix the fukking invisible panels. i watch year old video and even there was same problem 🙄
Hey Farrister, I have tried to sell RMC 14 different times using different ships, the warehouse, etc. I only successfully sold it once at Lorrville. Of course this doesn't include the random death on ships and vehicles and the sociopaths that call themselves pirates. I thought pirates were like Republicans, everything for profit, but these nut jobs just like to kill. We having fun yet?
Gigametres!
Panels were indeed nerfed by 50%, had numbers from 3.23 and 3.24 and the amount of RMC you get from panels was reduced by 50%

Absolutely, it is such a neat feature!

I also dont' use the gimbals in the vulture, its a small and maneuverable enough ship that it's easier to just adjust the whole ship position.
