I❤️when you say "shit bothers my eyes." I started saying that because it's true.
I just noticed the funniest thing! In the beginning of your video when you’re standing in front of the side of your van… the door handles look like eyes and the trim looks like a straight mouth. 😂 Maybe I’m just crazy. 😂😂😂
Would keeping your little heater in your back box help your shelving design behind the drivers seat? Or maybe in your pallet cabinet?
And what about drilling holes with brackets like inside a cabinet so the shelves can be adjustable?
Haha hard to unsee 😐
I love it... hahahaha 😅❤
Now I can’t unsee it! Ha!
@@mrs.c9174 🤣 Me either!
I absolutely agree! That's hysterical!
You might consider adding a resilient mat on either side of the piano hinge instead of routing out the wood for it. The resilience would decrease the jarring on your joints especially since you will probably be using it on hard surfaces instead of a carpeted floor. We attached kitchen mats to my daughter’s tap board and it worked great.
that's a great idea, thanks!!
maybe a cut to fit yoga mat?
The top of the cabinet on the wheel well could have two small openings. That way the uncut centre between the two openings helps stabilize the cabinet. You could even on the inside put another piece of wood under the centre
Could you use your tap board to strenghten the bed and then slide out when you need it?
good idea!! but I would rather have the ventilation that the lattice gives me.
Lulu , your brain is a very busy/productive place. Love it!💖
Lulu, could you just remove the doors and make the openings taller and add new taller doors to access the upper space?
great thought, but inside the cabinet just above the top of the door is a wood support that runs the length of the cabinet. cutting through that would jeopardize the structure/strength.
there's also a brand of screens that attach from the inside and they are magnetized (sewn into the screen) on your interior door frame. I have some that I ordered for my promaster, so I am sure they will fit your window as well. The company is skeeter beater. not too expensive and you can do from the inside without even exiting your van. Just an idea.
thanks, I'll look into that! 😊
Instead of a garlic press I use a small flat hand grater. Easier to clean, easier on my arthritic hands and much much cheaper at any Asian market.
Btw Lulu, your colourful jolly little van is my favourite. I just love it!
hi Val!! I'm so happy you love my lil' jolly van!! thanks for letting me know that!! Lulu 😊
Could you place hooks inside the pallet cabinet and hang mesh veggie bags for your sweet potatoes, avocados, etc? There would be airflow and the dark is good for the root veggies.
I like that idea..:)
good suggestion, thanks!! 😊
I heard a quote that reminded me of you. “In life it is not where you go but who you travel with.”
LOVE IT!! 💕
Thank you for making videos LuLu, that neck exercise you taught yesterday was the missing piece of the puzzle I needed. Btw, your videographer is fantastic. Your videos are great, no matter the topic.... When you eat, I wait for mealtime to have lunch with you. It would be pretty cool if you did more posture videos, I enjoyed doing stretches with you. Everybody likes hanging out with you LuLu, xoxoxo! Edit.... I know you have a lot going on, wasn't demanding any videos😂 just saying, it would be great... I'm thankful for you! You're changing lives and it has a ripple effect. Changing the world ❤
hi Koolala!! once I get more settled in the routine with the posture exercises, spine stretches and flexibility stretches, I'll do another video on that. right now I'm just getting familiar with them!! 💕
Square dowels glued to the underside (spaced 6-10 inches apart) would raise your dance floor about a half inch. This would produce better sound and provide some give so you don’t stress your joints or knees. Heavy duty Velcro can keep the two floor pieces attached on the underside or sides built up with dowels trimming the perimeters. I did this to connect 3, 5x8, sheets of birch for a portable dance floor. I also used window insulation strips on the bottom of the dowels to stabilize the floor on uneven or cement surfaces. I love your zest for living a life of joy, especially in troubling times. The Lord’s oil of gladness be with you. Psalm 30:11
By your cabinets why not leave the counter top and just make the doors longer and remove the panels and add shelving for your produce and canned goods etc. Just a thought :)😊
or a drop-down door or 2 drop-downs? As long as your side board has interior framing supports, it should stay solid. Then secure the doors with the adjustable barrel bolts, as well. Seems like reaching down into the cupboard from the top would get to be a real pain in the butt.
An eye mask to sleep in would save doing anything with your Bluetti
exactly what I thought as I use one for my naps...
I use one that has built in Bluetooth headphones. I like to listen to books and set a timer for 30 minutes.
oh, I could never wear one of those to bed!! that would bug me!! lol
Plus, dark eye sleep masks help have melatonin
Your tap dancing floor on the black box with cloth makes a nice table. I am praying and saving for my van. Love and blessings from South Africa.
To not see the light at night, you could make a towel rack (e.g. Voxnan Ikea) under your table, at the edge. You can then use that to towel dry, but you can hang a towel on it at night so you don't see the light. That's what I would choose.
thanks for the suggestion!! 😊
Hey Lulu, love the 'tweaking' videos...and all your videos and your sense of humour. With the pallet cabinet perhaps cut in two smaller holes on each side, that way the middle is still solid for support. And yes Lulu, we do know 'what your saying'....LOL.
hi Bubba!! thanks for the suggestion!!! 💕
I like your idea of cutting an opening into the cabinet top. Two ovals would work as well. You would maintain access to both sides with some wood left across the middle of the top to prevent any possible bowing of the cabinet front or stress stacking in the top. Also, you would have smaller covers to deal with instead of one large one. Good luck with everything. I know it will turn out perfectly!
great suggestion! thanks!! 😊
What if you leave 2-3 inches of wood all across the back, then use a piano hinge to attach the 'lid' all the way across the top. So the back strip of wood would be all along the back, and the front 'lid' would be attached to the back of the wood with the piano hinge. (google a picture of a piano hinge if you aren't familiar with them.)
great idea!! thanks!
Remember.... You're now going to have a bucket of shoes. You probably don't need them in that wall cabinet anymore. There ya go. Storage with a shelf problem solved! Save travels to ya!
2017 Roadtrek 190 Popular, we use black duct tape, fold it over cut it to size and velcro over any light source you might see at night. One of our favorite things is a magnetic motion light that comes on when we get in the middle of the night to use the bathroom. Good luck.
Great tweaks, Lulu! The sideboard is going to be really handy if you decide to put your pantry items in there... all your food in one place. I do admire how good you are about following up on each of the ideas you have for improvements. Most of us get things to a manageable level and then think, "Good enough!" Fine tuning is fun, and it "serves you well!" 💖
hi Kaye!! yeah, I enjoy the process of working on the van, so I'll just keep fine-tuning!!
Maybe add velcro strip under the table edge above your Blueti (sp?), add velcro to the edge of your darkening fabric, to hang at night and fold up and stow away during the day? Your van is way cool! You have so many great ideas, and super cute! You are so inspirational!
thanks for the suggestion!!! thanks for writing, stay inspired! 😊
I love that you are always looking for ways to improve your van! Life is change, looking for ways to make it better keeps us busy and happy! Well done Lulu!
Great ideas, Lulu. It's such fun watching you make your van better and better for you.
Those changes all make sense to me. I think you really have to live in a place for several months to really get the feel of the surroundings. I think you will forever be changing things. Maybe what works for now will be changed in the future when a new/better idea comes to mind. Have fun making thing happen.
Dear Lulu, my 2 cents on your mini black out curtain idea for the Bluetti lights "nighttime mode"...
1st thought: you've done everything up so cute and coordinated, perhaps a simple yet beautiful multipurpose "fix" could be a colorful throw pillow to reposition from the bed to the front of the Bluetti box! The actual pillow "stuffing" could be clothes, towels or extra linens/blanket.
2nd thought: create a coordinating colorful curtain lined with the blackout fabric for the entire box face and velcro to the inside top of the box.
And for your tap dancing board, I suggest that you divide it so the seam runs between your feet (not lengthwise).
Best wishes
Kimberly
🤗🥰🥳
thanks for your suggestions!! 💕
I know you are a sewer, for your bluetti cover. 3M command has a velcro strip available. I have found that you can peel the sticky back off and actually sew it on with a machine. You can then use the other part to either stick onto your bluetti or even under your cabinet to be able to remove it during the day. I have made a shade for my RV door with black out curtain liner, it is however white and matches my door. But I know you'll find what's right for you. I curse those little lights, I swear they search out my eyeballs at night, lol
Adding a metal washer in the bottom hem would ensure a bit of weight to the room darkening fabric would help with this.
thanks for the suggestion!!
Those "night lights" from the battery would bother me, too. Consider using some leftover reflectix and black duct tape. I would cover the reflectix with the tape so it blends in and then tape the top of it to the battery. Should work as a hinge that you can lift up and tuck up during the day. Also, have you ever used wood paint sticks for projects? They come in standard and longer sizes (for 5 gal cans). Might be good for your cabinet doors.
Love your ideas, especially the top of your cabinet solution. So smart!
I learned so much from your video. Thank you for sharing!
Great setup! I'm ft in my van for 3 years now. I try to put my heavy items, eg can goods as low as possible. Also low is cold for all pantry items.
Thank you!! I need to add a shelf to the medicine cabinet I put in my little motorhome. Your brackets are a great idea!!
I love the way u change up your van from time to time and sharing it with us. Great ideas😊
New sub here. For the light darkening idea on your battery, what about a tension rod(or hooks on each side)with the room darkening material or a pretty curtain? It can be pulled back or tucked back when not needed. Love your ideas!!
Doller tree has some wire shelves, you could put command hooks in the medicine cabinet. The shelves aren't heavy duty but you can bend them a bit to fit your space.
thanks for the suggestion!! 😊
Great changes ahead 😊 you’re luck to have Bob and his skills. ❤ I’m pretty self capable too but, sometimes you just need a good helping buddy ❤ always a pleasure Lulu. Each time I watch your videos I learn something new 😊
yes, I'm grateful to have Bob, he thinks of things that I don't!! 😊
Take the plastic off the bed and put in some scrap plywood and it will be fixed for good. You can drill holes in the plywood, so it doesn't mold. I grew up in Baltimore. I live an hour away and know the area. Don't sleep on the street in the city, it's too dangerous. They are having problems with car jackings. Middle River Walmart is safe to park and there is a Harvest Host Marina in Dundalk you can stay in that is safe. Sleep in Baltimore County not inside the city line. If you need any more info about the area, I'd be glad to answer any questions. I'm wishing you safe and fun summer travels, Lulu!
thanks.
Plywood with ventilation holes sounds like an easy, practical fix for your bed platform.
just a few boards under the lattice was the practical fix for me!!! easy breezy!!!
Hi Lulu
Hope you are having a good day today. Stay cool. Thank you
Looks like so good improvements coming, ya thanks to Bob. Waiting for your next video with the improvements. 😊
Love your videos! Here's a thought, on the cabinet, instead of cutting a piece out of the top ( I think about trying to rummage around to find the laundry stuffed in there, possibly snagged?) remove the top front wood and could you find strong netting to go across the front on top? Like netting used to tie down items in your trunk or on your rack?
Someone would adore to have your “old” screens when you get your new ones! (Which, incidentally, I think are fantastic). It would be a lovely present for someone as a free giveaway pile item, or as a reward in a game. Simply thinking aloud. 😂 😂
That's a great idea!
Life creates new experiences, new experiences create wisdom.."God willing, you live and learn. !" Thanks for sharing !
Thanks for the list of your items! Very helpful.
On the BLUETTI I too velcroed a piece of foamy craft mat. .29 at the craft store. I think they make kids foamy shapes out of the stuff. Only way I can describe it. 😊 works GREAT 👍
I know the foam you are talking about! good idea!!
I just thought of a idea for the cupboard doors , maybe you could used a piece of black metal which is pretty much flat and just scew it into the inside of the two cupboard doors and I think the metal might make the door just as sturdy too and then you can have more room inside the cupboard instead of those thick boards ......and maybe you could those pieces of metal too on your bedframe too ?
thanks for the suggestions!! 😊
Instead of cutting holes into the top of the wheel well cabinet to utilize the top 6", why not keep the top intact and make the front flap down exactly like your sideways cd towers? Then you could fully see what you have inside the top section
that would be a great option except that behind that space above the cabinet doors, there is a support beam of wood going across the whole length of the cabinet, leaving about 4 or 5" of space that is available.
Thank you for sharing all these great tips. I enjoyed watching you describe all of the changes coming up.
🌻🐝🧡
I always love the van videos. This one was super, very interesting.
Thank you for encouragement! 🥰
Your plans sound exciting! I can't wait to see the changes...God bless..❤🌹
It's fun making changes in your vehicle. I always do that on mine, 😂
Maybe make new doors full height. Then put several shelves inside
inside the cabinet on top of the doors is a support brace that runs across the whole front, not sure I can cut into that. we'll see!!
Sounds good. Thanks.
Maybe hang a hand towel over the Bluetti - then it’s also handy to wipe your hands on - ornamental.
Love all your ideas me when I want to cover a light on a machine I simply use a black paper and tape just the top so if I want to see o
Info like time etc I can lift it see than put it down to be dark like what you guys will be dong to sid cabinet to put food can't wait to see it say hi to Bob for me he's very cute perfect man just my type ❤❤❤❤
taping black paper sounds like a very simple solution, thanks!!!
Your outfit looks so nice on you.
I would not like those bulky support boards inside your cabinet either.
Love that you continue chgs/upgrades.
I am so blessed to have met you. Hope to see you again sometime.
For the BLUETTI, maybe a small tension rod, with a ‘mini curtain’??
Maybe on the counter, do the oval cut out on the left side, then on the right side - make a hole on the SIDE to reach in to that area. 🤷🏻♀️. Or do oval cut outs on the front . Idk how/if the structure layout is , if that would work
thanks for the suggestions!! 😊
❤You have such a creative mind, Lulu! You don’t hesitate to ask for help via ideas etc. I think the covering on the light would be easiest and most practical using the Velcro. Thank you for sharing your life with us. ❤🙏🏻 🚐
love your way you enjoy life
All these ideas are pretty ingenious 😊
Good morning Lulu 🙋♀️ Great ideas 💡 Enjoyed the video, have a great day ❤️😊
I have screens like that, they are awesome!!
I literally cackled when you said shit bothers my eye! 😂
😂🤣
Lulu, if you put fruit or vegetables in you pallet cabinet they will spoil faster too. Can add vent holes in front of cabinet. Dawn
What about magnets to keep your doors closed? Less rattling.Good luck with the changes.😊
good idea!! but I really love the look of the black hardware against the white wash wood!!!
Hi Lulu, looks great! An idea for the bluetti…. In settings, you can have the display screen turn off after 30 seconds. It displays again as soon as you touch it. Then, maybe you can carefully cut some electrical tape in a circle to cover the led light on the on/off switch. It could be a simple solution for you.
thanks for the suggestion!! I checked my Bluetti and under settings there is nowhere for me to change display screen, oh well!! thanks!!
When you go to settings, tap the “next” tab on the screen until you get to the third page of setting options. You will see an option for “sleep time”. You can choose 30 seconds, 1 min, 5 min or never (which is probably what you have selected)
@@LulusWay64 When you go to settings, tap on the “next” tab on the screen until you get to the third page of setting options. In that screen, you’ll see an option for “sleep time” where you can select 30s, 1min, 5min or never (which is probably what you have selected).
I don't have a third screen, just two. I have the AC200P, old model!!
How exciting😊
Lu use a small valance with a tension rod to cover battery and at same time it looks pretty
Hi Lulu 👋 😊
Have you thought about one of those mesh hanging bags for your fruits? I know how things hurt your eye so it may not be something you desire, but I thought it may be a handy way for you to have them accessible.
Also for that irritating light on the bluetti 👀, I know what you mean about trying to sleep with that light, I have one on an extension cord in my bedroom, drives me nuts, what would you think about a small strip of black out curtain fastened to the wood over the top, just long enough to cover the light. They have pretty thumb tack looking push pins you could use those to fasten it to the wood.
Other than I that, I’m not a real whiz at thinking of things, but you and Bob seem to be on top of it.
Hope I was helpful
Sending love you way
Your pal Susie 😊❤
Make two holes so its sturdier 😁
These van videos are my favorite!
Hi Lulu
I enjoy your videos - thanks for the great content.
I was thinking about your countertop cut out. If you were to cut that out at a 45° angle, you would not have to worry about the structural integrity of it. However, if you use a Skil saw, the blade is an eighth of an inch thick so , the cut out would sit down and eighth of an inch. The fix would be to adhere an eighth of an inch thick overlay on top of that cut out. So it will sit in the 45 and be flush with the other part of the counter.
Or alternatively, you could cut out the counter at 45 and use a separate piece of material the same thickness as the counter and mark it from below and cut the 45 on the outside of the line and have it fit snug
Hope this makes sense
it's a little confusing for me but I'll save your comment and show it to my friend Bob, thanks Steve! 😊
I just found you and I love your happy personality. ❤️
hello and welcome!! I'm glad you are here! 😊
Nice van!
What about drilling two rows of holes in the side walls and inside divider wall (aka original shelf) of the medicine cabinet so that you can use shelf clips/pins and make the new shelves so adjustable? That way you can move them if needed? My home kitchen cabinets are done like that and it works great.
that's a great idea!! thanks!!
Have you ever used the industrial strength velcro? It has great holding strength. It would help hold the cabinet in place.
yes, I love the industrial strength velcro, that's what holding up all my fabric panels on the walls, doors, ceiling!!
I just found your channel and subscribed. Thanks
YAY! welcome! I'm glad you are here!! 😊
Watching how you needed to REALLY pull to get your shelf and cubby off the inside of the medicine cabinet, why wouldn’t you just use the same tape again? It was sooo strong.
I thought of using that gorilla tape to install the shelves, just swap out that flimsy plastic shelf for wood, but I think it might look nicer if it was properly installed. but, then again, it would be a great way to temporarily space out the shelves to accommodate my current needs, which alway change! so thanks for the idea!! 💕
they have stickers to put over little lights to dim them
Maybe that cute medicine cabinet could also be you bathroom area for teeth and etc.
also for the pallet cabinet what about making finger hole on the fronts and drop those down to access that upper storage space?
thanks for the suggestions!! 😊
Changes never stop.
Love your outfit!
To cover your Bluetti, what about making a “curtain” the size of the entire opening and hang it with a tension rod.
thanks for the suggestion!!
Great tweeks, Sure happy you found a way to bring along your tap floor..:) How about if you made two smaller openings on your pallet cabinet as for your medicine I also thought I would put a container for my daily use of wipes and tooth brush , If it were my van..hehe Enjoy LuLu
my daily use stuff, like wipes and toothbrush are in my blue cabinets. that's where I keep all my daily stuff. the medicine cabinet is less convenient to get into because I usually have things on the red table and they have to be moved whenever I want to open that cabinet.
Lulu, would you be able to put it into your Yakima box diagonally? I did this once with a suitcase while flying. I put other things below and some things above to help it lie diagonally.
Lmbo Lulu, I’m with you. Shit bothers my eye too. 😂
I just removed a lot of stuff from my campervan. Mine pooks like a hotel room. I needed decor. I realized I did not use half the stuff I had. I rebuilt. My color scheme is all shades of white 😂 ash grey and tiffany green
that color scheme sounds divine!! 😊
For inside your sideways medicine cabinet, could you use a drawer organizer and tape
ail\screw it to the back to give you the partitioned storage you want?
thanks for the suggestion!! 😊
It could be my imagination, but looking at you standing beside your van, it looks like your tires are low. Just wanted to mention it so that you could put more air in them if they need it.
somebody else said the same thing!! it usually alerts me on my dashboard when I my tires are low pressure, and it hasn't. but I'll check it out!!
Could you make a black out curtain the shape of the square the Bluetti is housed in? Velcro fabric to the lip of the red cabinet so you can remove it so see the readings.
thanks for the suggestion!! 😊
What I love about you is how unapologetic you are ....simply saying..."I don't like it."
Love that you are tweaking your setup. Using a new camera? I ask because it seems there's lots of movement with the picture.
my son was using my phone instead of my iPad and, with the microphone receiver plugged into the phone, it's hard to hold it and manage it. he did the best that he could!!!
Shit bothers your eye? Squeaks bother my ears! Please oil those cabinet door hinges! 😂 Just love all of your great ideas. Can’t wait for the next adventure.
Maybe put a little WD40 on the hinges when you replace your closures. That creaking would drive me crazy but that’s me.
yes!! for sure!!
Nice thanks much 😅😅😅😅😅😅🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Could you do a review of your Yakima after you've used it for a while - pros & cons, what you'd like to see different?
yes, I sure will!! first I need to use it on a long trip. on shorter trips, I really don't need it!
if you cut the bed
cross supports to sit down on the inside of the frame they won't be providing the support and the lattice can still break .. correct?
the lattice is now supported from under the frame, it won't budge!!
Like others mentioned, can your pallet cabinet doors be made taller to access the top section? And to secure them flush what about little swivel wooden latches like on an outhouse .. you know what I mean?
inside the cabinet, just above the doors, is a wood support beam that runs the entire length of the cabinet, can't really cut into that without compromising the structure. yes, I know what you mean by those wooden swivel closures. I really love the black latches to match the black hinges, looks really nice against the white washed wood!!
@@LulusWay64 Yes, the black hardware really does look nice. The new latches will surly work. Good to know such a a thing exists.
what about tacking a black out material to the red table
thanks for the suggestion!!
