    I've owned my T1500/T1550 for two years now, along with 3 sets of Hyper wheels. This is probably the only frameset I can't ever see myself selling despite owning both the latest Giant Propel and Allez Sprint, respectively. Winspace during the pandemic did a fantastic job marketing their products to the Western world which subsequently gave the brand considerably more street credibility than all their other Chinese competitors. I think about how the S-Works Venge is still revered after all these years. It's unapologetically aero. So the fact the T1500 has also stood the test of time proves that the demand for full aero is still well and alive. The rear triangle is indeed pushing the limits of stiffness/comfort. A topic I've discussed myself. It's little nuances like these which highlight the design benefits of big brands. But at $3200 for the frameset, handlebars, and wheel...it's a fantastic value for the amateur crit racer or a weekend warrior looking to be competitive in their local fast group ride.

    Im glad you are highlighting winspace, ive bought 3 sets of wheels and they have all been great. If you are worried about the carbon spokes, i hit another rider that drifted into me over a two way lane and our combine speed wheel on wheel was 50-60km/hr. Two spokes popped off, none broke, wheel had a small crack, and was still round. I broke my collar bone. These wheels are so strong! If you want, ask winspace to send extra spokes, they have good service and im sure wouldn't charge you much.

    Hey Jeff
    I realize this video was posted sometime ago, but I wanted to comment…. I crashed my original T1500 in a crit And decided to get the new 1550. I contacted winspace post crash, and they actually gave me a little discount to re-up on their new frame Which I thought was nice … Since they don’t have an official crash replacement policy.
    My little nitpick with the frame I wish they offered a zero setback seat post other than that I love the bike! I have the D45s for wheels, Those are great too! Love your videos

    I purchased the Winspace SLC 2.0 with the 9Velo wheelset that have carbon spokes. 9Velo sends an extra 3 spokes with the wheelset.
    Hambini reviewed Winspace and 9Velo and had good things to say. I see he commented in traditional Hambini fashion. 😄

    I’ve got a Tarmac Sl6 that I’ve upgraded with 9Velo LV55 wheels for $600 during one of their sales, and it’s been great so far. Honestly the perfect wheelset for crits, tubeless compatible if you want, CX-ray spokes, stiff enough, and comes in around 1500g.

      I have built mine up and it comes in at 7.4kgs without pedals for a XL (Ultegra Di2). Easy to build but cable routing can be tricky so bar height needs to be precise first time. Not ridden yet but the ceramic bearings are super smooth and spin for ages. Tyres are 28mm Continental GP5000 but could probably stretch to 30mm. There is 2 year warranty I believe on the frame but not sure about crash replacement

    I love my Winspace slc, super stiff, nimble and responsive. When I peg it, the bike launches. Jumping for a wheel going past is so easy, the bike / Hyper wheels accelerate so fast. I took off the once piece bars as they are quite heavy, swapped to a light bar and stem and it all works perfect. No issues at all and Lun provides spare spokes in the box. I've also asked for spare parts and they ship same day. Customer service is impressive, you can live chat them business hours and resolve issues there and then. The person who speaks to you has the power to authorise action. A great bike, great company, can't go wrong.

      One of the most annoying things about brand name bikes is that they seem to purposefully make lower spec/affordable setups ugly in terms of paint these days. OEM/Generics will custom paint frames for you for like 200 bucks if you don't like what they offer.
      The most annoying thing with brands isn't even the cost, it's that their bikes are basically never available when you want, it's always a 2-12 month wait, but you can get any OEM/Generic within a couple weeks.

    Winspace has been known quality for several years now. One of the few chinese brands i trust. I have two of their wheelsets, hyper 38's and the recent hyper D45's. Both have been awesome. And at ~half the cost of other premium brands, they're perfect for rocking in crits if you're on a budget. I would try one of their frames out in a second if I ever needed a new build.

    @NorCalCycling - Hi Jeff, the bike looks like an interesting option especially considering the price. I would like to see a longer term evaluation of the bike, say, after racing for a season (Feb/Mar thru Sept/Oct) because of the press fit BB. I've had real issues in the past with the carbon cups deforming due to strain over time. I've found threaded to offer better build quality and durability over time.

    I've owned a T1500 myself. Sold it because it was one size bigger and I just don't have the legs anymore. This bike is solid, and It's meant to be ridden fast, or in a racing scenario. This isn't for someone who's just getting into cycling.
    The only bad for the previous T1500 was it supports mechanical groupsets, but they really prefer fully electric for a clean look. The steertube opening just don't fit four cables through it.

    Regarding brand representation. Supposedly, Winspace were going to open their first brick and mortar store somewhere in the U.S, that way turn around times for repairs or replacements could be much much quicker rather than having to ship everything all the way to china everytime.
    I heard this news earlier in the year or sometime last year in another video on YT and I commented saying that Winspace would lose their unique selling point as they would have to bump their prices up to cover all the new overheads they would have to pay regarding property rental, utility bills and staffing costs rather than being extremely competitively cheap compared to other big mainstream brands.
    Its going to be tough for them to maintain their current pricing if they do go ahead with their expansion. I got my eye on a set of Lun Routte for my next wheelset.
    With political relations the way they are with both countries currently. I dont think WInspace is going to open up a store.

    As a taller rider (6'4"/193cm), I'm always concerned about the geometry. Is the bike going to be tall/long enough for me? For many of the Chinese frames I've seen, the answer tends to be, "Not quite". Either that or I would end up having to add a LONNG stem to balance the shortness of the top tube. I know their geometry chart says their largest size should fit, but I'm a bit leery. Can you speak to this?

    Pretty good review but of course there's a lot more to frame quality than feel and external looks of a review-ready single frame No mention of carbon layup, inspection, etc.
    That said, I don't see the lack of dealer support being bad. Most bike issues one will encounter are with setup and components, or fit.
    Any LBS is equipped to look at any bike in those regards.
    A frame issue, voids, breakage or poor BB tolerances, etc. will require return to mfgr and/or a lawyer - no matter who made the frame.
    And fwiw, judging by what I've seen of their frames and company response to issues presented to them, Cervelo's Pon Holdings certainly don't qualify for a "Good" category on that issue Lol!

    Customer service and build quality is definitely a ugly from my experience. My mechanic found that my T1500 headset had loosened and started rubbing on my steerer tube, which was visibly getting worn through and told me this needed to be warrantied. I contacted Winspace who told me not to worry about it. I sent them a photo showing of the damage, damage that would obviously result it in the steering tube breaking in half. They said it's not damaged (despite there being clear damage) and to not worry about it. This bike is sitting on my trainer, and I still have carbon shaving falling off the front from where the steerer tube is being worn through.

      You probably have the “D” shaped steertube. The T1550 has a round steertube and enlarged top headset bearing size to 1 1/2” allowing more room for cables.

    Depending on where you are (geographically, shipping fees may be a bitch) a bike I would say that rivals the Winspace is the S1neo 699D, also a taiwan manufactured frame from a european company. So many good options out there right now without the horrible price tags of major bike brands. I hope this trend continues on and cycling/bike racing can become more accessible to many more riders.

    In the Chinese domestic market, the most popular bikes are under 2800 dollars. Those are the entry level carbon race bike market and are good enough for most of the riders. I don’t think the Chinese brands give a good price. The western brands high-end bikes are just way too expensive. Definitely not worth the money. You pay most of your money for the brands not the actual bikes.

    Oooo I'm in the market 😊 but why wouldn't you go with a big name brand aluminum and put super light components? Some u can get down to the same weight and more durable.

    • @gefloigle
      @gefloigle 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Aluminum flexes too much to be considered a crit racer at their level, meaning much of the power is absorbed by the frame and not transferred to the wheels down to the pavement. Aluminum makes for a better endurance bike on a budget.

    • @bigross1553
      @bigross1553 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@gefloiglealuminum frames are actually stiffer in most cases, hence why the Allez Sprint is a killer crit bike. The main benefits of carbon are that it allows for more aerodynamic tube shapes and a lighter frame

    • @justinkase8716
      @justinkase8716 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Carbon tubes are more likely to be repaired and a lot less expensive than a new frame. Aluminum frames are trash and not repairable if you dent damage the tubes. So the point of durability is a weak argument.

    Why is it always noted that a bike is good for a Chinese bike as if the majority of all high end bike frames are manufactured in China and Taiwan . China and Taiwan can legit manufacture anything as good as or better with as high end materials one could need or want then any other country globally.
